LIMPOPO, LIMPOPO, LIMPOPO

Limpopo, Limpopo, Limpopo

A name I remember from a famous Russian fable by Chukovsky, Dr Aybolit, who

took youngsters to the darkest

Africa,Limpopo.

Dr Aybolit ( dr it hurts terribly) would come to rescue

animals in distress.

His archrival was the horrible Barmaley .

This was a huge crocodile who every one feared

because he ate everyone. He looked something like the crocodile

in Peter Pans' story who ate the Pirates’ hand and then kept stocking him.

I remembered this story, which I read over and over again with

wide open eyes as a child, when I came across

Limpopo, in South Africa.

I cheered for Dr Aybolit simply because of his name

It sounded painful and it kept your attention focused on him

His life was about helping to remove pain.

He was a savior, a hero, who would trek through all kind of danger,

not fearing for his own life, with Barmaley in hot in pursuit.

Dr. Aybolit was a meak little man who wore thick glasses and was highly unqualified to trek through dangerous Africa.

Dr Aybolit can be compared to todays’

Dr. DooLittle who also talks to animals.

The author Chukovsky, was a good friend of our famous and glorious, Dr Seuss

who still keeps children fighting over his books in school Libraries. Is it no wonder their writing styles are so similar and so popular all over the world?

My fav Quotes by Dr seuss:

“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”

“A person's a person, no matter how small.”
