Take a look at the Electrical wiring running from building to building on the street...Scary thoughts of a short circuit run through my mind...But apparently this electricity grid miraculously works and supplies some households free electricity, which they would otherwise not have access to

Isn't this something and here we take everything for granted...just plug in the wall and go...lol
Good Post LadyL!
No matter how you get it in this world you need it.
It made me smile and remember the first time when I was in the US in 1980. I was invited to spend a few days in a small town in Virginia.
We went shopping. The cashier already used barcodes to register our purchases. I had never seen his before. Modern technology. But when we came out from the shop, I noticed all those electric and phone cables crossing the street, almost like on your pictures. Contrasts.
I love those radio's you wind up and the leg generated electricity. They are great for emergency situations.Wish I knew more about it and as for the wiring well most of it is done underground,( thank God!)here but I guess if the town is very small they might still do it the other way. Looks pretty dangerous though.
It looks terribly dangerous.
Glad here in Canada, we have a modern electricity system.
