Jobs Make People Laugh.

This dog is amazing. And not one swear word was used to make him do something.
That's why I love old comedians too , like Rodney Dangerfield, Milton Berle, Red Buttons, Totie Fields, Johnny Carson, Don Rickles, George Burns. They sure are missed.
They made jokes that crossed through all age groups.
Old Comedians were funny without using bad language.
They knew how to laugh at themselves and I guess this is what made them funny.

Like for example we have to give it to parent Diplomacy.

A Son calls his Mother to ask how she is
She says: I am feeling very weak.
Why?Asks the son
Because I haven't eaten in 38 days. answers the Mother
Why? asks the son
Because I didn't want my mouth to be full when you called.
lol

When I read about the Evils of drinking , I stop reading.

Why does a Mother make a good parole officer?
She never lets any one else finish a sentence .

--------------------------------------------------
There is a big controversy on when life begins.
In some traditions a fetus is not viable until after it graduates from law or medical school .

They left behind videos for us to enjoy. I especially loved to see Ed Sullivan there.
He always had a REALLY BIG SHOW and so many people were discovered and became great stars because of him.

Perfect Love

They hang their heads in sorrow
Lamenting tulips
Not to see tomorrow.

The bright heads remain
To reign in this domain
Untouched by friend nor foe.

Lucky flowers,
Living for tomorrow.

A Lady's Life
----------------------------------
My neighbors young maple tree dried up because of all the people walking their dogs who let them pee on it.
They take leisurely walks up and down this street into the bog, with leashes long, not caring
that they are not alone. (God forbid you do this by their homes. lol)
As I have dogs in the house, every passing dog knows and gives out a sole bark just in front of the house.
It's a private joke I think, between dogs, meaning:
I'm taking a walk and pissing on your tree and you are still inside lol
So all heck breaks loose in my house as my dogs would love a piece of the action outside.
So unfair. lol

To give my tree a chance, I built a wooden box around it, filled it with soil and planted tulips , daffodils and
jasmine. All the tulip bulbs disappeared and the few flowers that did come out, the children would come and pick them to give their Mothers. lol
The Mothers were always upset thinking it would upset me but how can you be upset when a child picks flowers, he thinks are beautiful, to give his Mother?

I would stand and watch their little faces and saw nothing but pure love, as they took great care in choosing which flower they wanted to give her. :)

This is what a Mother lives for.
This is a Mothers' reward.:)

Today the boys have grown into young men and the daffodils that survived, seemed to spread a little after so many years of neglect.
I call them my brave little soldiers facing the elements of life and living.
A few Jasmine also survived.
I guess the squirrels don't like them either. lol

Life......Time.......Survival.......so poetic.

Paddy and Mick get a pilot to fly them to Canada to hunt moose.

They bag six.

As Paddy and Mick start loading the plane for the return trip, the pilot says, "The plane can only take four of those."

The two lads object strongly. "Last year we shot six, and the pilot let us put them all on board; he had the same plane as yours."

Reluctantly, the pilot gives in and all six are loaded.

However, even with full power, the little plane can't handle the load and down it goes and crashes in the middle of nowhere.

A few moments later, climbing out of the wreckage, Paddy asks Mick,

"Any idea where we are?"

"I think we're pretty close to where we crashed last year," says Mick.

======================

Paddy & Mick find three grenades, so they take them to a police station.

Mick: "What if one explodes before we get there?"

Paddy: "We'll lie and say we only found two"!

=====================

Paddy says to Mick, "Christmas is on a Friday this year"

Mick says "Let's hope it's not the 13th."

==================

Mick walks into Paddy's barn and catches him dancing naked in front of a tractor.

Mick says, "Oh no, Paddy, what ya doing?"

Paddy says, "Well me and Mary haven't been getting on in the bedroom lately & the therapist recommended I do something sexy to attract her....

They imported 50 million tons of sand from the Arabs and they're going to drill for their own oil.

Blue Tsawwassen Beach

We walked along the beach in the early evening.
The wind blew from the shore as the tide rolled in
It was cold and we had to tighten our coats around us
and dig our hands into our pockets.
We got to a nice big log on the beach and sat on it

My husband poured the coffee we brought in the cannister.
It was nice and hot and welcome
Every now and then someone walks by with their dog
The dogs have a great time here
They don't mind the cold nor the freezing water.
They chase balls and sea gulls and the sea gulls love to tease them.
What a great life living by the sea.
You never get tired watching the waves in the early morning sun and the late sunsets.
Neither of us spoke as we stood and just breathed
A moment of solitude
A moment of togetherness.
A moment to love

Hope you had a good one.:)

Beware of Spiders.

I found this one funny.
Its about a barking spider.

At first I thought there was such a thing because they said it's the only spider that lifts its butt
and lets out some putrid smell before biting its victim
Well it resembles more of a skunk behavior than a spiders'
but all it is , is an urban legend about flatulence.

So next time don't say you farted.
Say:
Oh my Goodness!!
We're infested with barking spiders!!
and see them run lol

The doggie in the picture is a cutie pie.

Have a good one.:)

Peaceful Offering.

In the foggy mist, old man winter
wrapped warm in his snow blanket
Awaited the arrival of a friend,
to share his wealth of crystal information,
so delicate, intrinsic, and hypnotic to the eye.
He had so much to offer on
so peaceful of a moonlit night

Along trudged a bobbing bear covered in his diamonds
Followed by a prickly haired husky baring teeth of war.
A hunter stood behind them with bow and rifle raised
In the silent foggy mist
Of old man winters' home.

The bear rose his paws, up into full alert
A throaty roar pierced the calm
While the dog crouched down to fight.
With fangs, he growled and drooled to catch the big bear blows.
The hunter stood stead fast
with his mighty bow

After a bloody battle
The diamonds turned to red.
The bear lay in the blanket
Old man winter made
The Husky sniffed the carcass
The Hunter smiled a smile
A peaceful gift, an offering,
Old man winter got to hold.

In the silent foggy mist
A wealth of crystals shine
On the trees and bushes and the creatures of the night
Old man winter keeps them warm
In the powdery snow
No one fears him like the hunters
Preying on the living, in the blue white snow.

To Spank or Not to Spank That Is the Question.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPgNbRm2Ie2l9OpbD-eiBiR79qG7dXO6RjvvO4-xcS0ZahNDcMEcjk3jIFXYc3NvfMlmsjmX5JTCi5QE5I7aYFyK6Hy77FWBIBGgwMxczBf99FqA-eJEb4pMS-SuyqjnX27c6Vkxt8kwU/s1600/spanking.jpg

Today people frown on spanking and you see kids sitting on Ritalin instead.
I prefer spanking to drugs anytime.
Even at school, teachers and principals were allowed to punish.
Our school usually used a ruler on hands.

My Mom's sponsor that paid for the boat trip across the ocean to Halifax was this Jewish family . She had to baby sit and do the housecleaning and cooking for them for a year, as a live in.
Being young, she knew nothing about any of those things and the Mom of the house had to teach her many things, how to set the table, how to clean silver, how to do the washing, etc....
The family had a boy and a girl.
My Mom said when they did something bad the Father would give them two choices.
Either they got a spanking or they had to stay in their rooms a week.
She said the girl took her spanking and then went to do her normal things but the boy was a chicken and stayed in his room a week lol.

My Mom found spankings amusing because her own Dad sat at the table with a wooden spoon.
When the kids misbehaved they got spooned on the forehead lol
It can be intimidating if you are alone but with a group all getting the same thing...... it becomes fun.
Thank fully she said she was the oldest and when the war began she wasn't around much.

Being Jewish, this family she lived with was not allowed things like pork but for my Mother they provided her with bacon, kolbasa's and other tid bits they knew she would like.
She was extremely skinny but ate a lot and they always wondered where she put it all.lol

One day they were expecting guests and my Mom was told to bake the turkey.
Simple enough. She took the turkey , stuffed it into a dish and put it into the oven.
Come dinner time, the table was set and the guests seated and she served it for carving. This was when they found out that she did not clean it out inside. lol It still had all its organs .The whole dinner was spoiled. lol
So this was when cooking lessons were in order for my Mom.
She learned all kind of Jewish cooking . She liked that family because they were good to her.
So when she got married she cooked some of what she learned from them. Our family knew things like gifilte fish, mozza balls, cheese knishes lol These were good compared to the stew one woman made at our House.
My parents let this Rumanian couple a room for a few weeks till they got a place of their own to live.
They had a boy but he was in a private school and never came home but he did have a train set which I found in their closet. I put it together and played with it. It was a great train so I made sure to put it away before the couple came home.lol

One day this woman cooked this stew for my lunch . She put so much pepper I couldn't eat it and I began to cry. She was going to force me to eat it and even to beat me but thankfully, my Mom walked into the kitchen and told me I didn't have to eat it. I ran out of the kitchen so fast .
When they finally left I was happy lol

On the whole our neighborhood was great, very cosmopolitan. We had Italian families along with French Canadians English Polish Ukrainian, Black and when they all got together they began having moon shine competitions. One started it and then every one wanted to get into it.

Every one had their own little still at home and once a brew was made to taste, they went to each others houses for a sample. On week ends in winter, with 4 foot snow piles outside, parties were frequent at our house. lol
My parents did this for a few years and thought they better stop because you can't drink every week. My Dad was not a drinker He would have a few shots and then go take a nap. lol
But other people would not know when and things could get quite rowdy as discussions got into politics.
As kids we'd get together and discuss what our parents said and did at home.
One Italian family had a grown up son. He came home one day from university with a very long beard. His Dad didn't like it. My friend said her brother used to tease his Dad by sitting and putting his beard into the spaghetti sauce when he ate. Her Dad would fly into a frenzy and everyone at the table laughed as he chased him out of the house. lol

When we first built our house, the neighbor had a little boy my age, Carmenuch. He stood on his balcony with a bottle of chocolate milk and I stood on mine with my normal milk and we'd stand and point at each other talking jibberish.
Then I went out side and so did he and we would wet our underwear. I thought I would take mine off so my Mom wouldn't yell at me but she yelled at me anyway lol I was running around without clothes.I wouldn't listen so eventually I got a spanking for that. lol

One day Carmenuches' big brother came out and picked up a rock and threw it at me for no reason. I ran but it hit me in the back of the head. My Mother tried to find out who did it because there was a lot of blood but all I could tell her through my tears that it was it was a big boy and he ran away. I still have an indentation in my skull at that spot.
When we grew up this big boy, whose name I now knew as Dominic, wanted to marry me but I remembered the rock he threw at my head lol so this wasn't going to happen. He was an honors student in physics and quite a good looker with tons of girls after him.

My Dad didn't like to hear me crying all the time when I got bullied. When I went to school I was not a very small girl and quite athletic like my Dad. I was a good kid. When kids got bullied they'd come to me and hide behind my back and the bullies would look in my face and back away. It must have been because I never showed fear.

But one boy, Bobbie, would sneak up, in grade one, and push me from behind. I'd lose my balance and fall and tear my leotards. I came home one day like this then another day and my parents became very annoyed.
My Dad said if I did not stop him and stand up for myself, he would spank me. The next day I was petrified to come home again with torn stockings lol So he took me to the boys' Mother and showed her my legs. Bobbie got the spanking of his life that day.lol
I learned that I was allowed to stand up for myself because we were not allowed to fight at school. We'd get a ruler on the hands or a suspension.

Carmenuch had other big brothers and one sister who they married off at 15. The poor girl had baby after baby and by the time she was 23 she looked 55. The doctor told her she couldn't have any more, but being Catholic they didn't practice birth control, so she got pregnant again and almost died. The family was very upset with her husband but she refused to have an abortion so when the baby was born the doctors decided they would tie her tubes so she had no more babies.
She had no say in the matter. She had no say anywhere , not at home, not in her marriage and not with the doctor. I watched and thought, this will never happen to me.

I liked this family though. They were Italian and the Mom and Dad did not look like they had much schooling but the Mom was extremely smart.
She did lace piecework at home, always had a huge pot of spaghetti and a pot full of sauce on the stove and they grew huge dandelions, tomatoes and cucumbers for salad in the back yard.

Once when her oldest boy got into a major fight with his cousin. He came home with a torn ear.
Well this woman took out her needle and thread and began to sew it up. He was yelling and each time he yelled, she swatted him on the head and winked at me with a smile, while probably cursing at him in Italian saying: tapotsanachee lol.

This boy always fought with his cousin(, the one with the long beard and the spaghetti sauce). lol Once they began a fight and my Dad saw them.
He came out and said:
Boy, you call this a fight? You guys hate each other so much.
Why don't you just finish it?
He took out two 2 x 4's and pretended to check them out and to hand one to each of the boys saying: Now here.... with this you can do the job good and finish it once and for all. Just give each other a good bash on the head and it will be over. May the best man win. Lol

The two guys looked at him then at each other, turned and went home lol They thought my Dad was crazy and my Dad began to laugh. We never saw them fight anymore after that. He knew they wouldn't take the 2x4's.

The family also had an old beat up cat. He was a very nice cat but very scarred from all the fights he was in. He got very old and stiff, sorta like my Tatty became in old age. He always came for a pat but you didn't know where to pat him because of the scars.

My Dad brought home many cats but they seemed to disappear. We thought someone was eating cats in the neighborhood.
I also had baby rabbits.
Once I decided to take my favorite white bunny and drop him off the balcony to see if he would land on his feet, like the cats do. It was an experiment and it failed because the poor bunny broke its' back. I screamed and my Mom came running and she was so sad. She said
What did you do? I was crying cause my favorite white bunny was dying. I never expected that to happen but it was just a tiny thing so the fall must have been too high for it.

My heart always ached for animals when they were hurt. One day the same neighbors went to the market and brought home a black lamb. They left it tied by the legs on the balcony and I heard it bleating.
I came running and knew what was going to happen to it and became quite upset. I contemplated on stealing it but I had no place to hide it lol
So the poor thing disappeared and that was the last we saw of it.

Things were quite free in those days.
Dogs ran on the streets and we lost many dogs to rabies, including my own.
But going to school was fun cause a female dog would be in heat and she'd run into the school yard followed by many male dogs. These dogs would ignore kids but they would get into dog fights and this always made our day to watch lol
Someone eventually had to be called to round them up.

But we also had people who took very good care of their dogs. One old couple had an old gray terrier they named Nipper. He'd always come out to bark at you and they'd laugh and say be careful. You see, his name is Nipper. Why do you think he got that name ?.But he was too old to do any fighting or biting. lol

Another family had this small Chihuahua. He'd come running out at you into the middle of the street wagging his tail, looking as if he was smiling at you and being so friendly, just to get close enough to bite you lol Now his name should have been Nipper.lol

And then my next door neighbor had a female Boxer and she was my favorite. Her name was Tawny. Tawny and I spent a great deal of time together. The neighbors were an older couple and they saw I loved dogs so they let me take her for daily walks. Other kids came to ask them to do the same thing but they always said no so I was touched that they trusted me with their dog. In the morning on garbage day you would take the garbage out and hear this heavy breathing behind you. It always scared you thinking it was some pervert and then you'd turn and it was Tawny wagging her stumpy tail. She was a darling dog and you'd hug and kiss her and tell her how naughty she was scaring you this way.lol

One day I came to take her for a walk but she was gone. She was replaced by a black Doberman
who didn't look very friendly. I asked where Tawny was and the neighbor said her policeman son took it and gave her this one. I took this dog for a walk but he was not one to be told what to do. He'd give you a wicked look as if to say: Watch it. So he took me for a walk instead of the other way around.
I brought him home very carefully and handed him back to the lady and never went back to walk it again. But then.......lo and behold.....there was Tawny again.

We both jumped for joy to see each other and what a reunion we had. The lady told me she told her son to take the Doberman back because she was afraid of him as well. Things went back to normal.
One day Tawny had a litter of cute pups.
They offered my Dad a pup for 75 dollars and my Dad said no. I was disappointed and so were the couple because they said that was a cheap price for this dog and they really wanted me to have one since they saw how much I loved Tawny.
My Dad didn't believe in spending money on animals He always got them for free. I had problems with him when it came to cats and dogs. He liked to see animals run free and I knew they had to be tied. He'd have cats and always lose them once they began fighting with other cats but mine I neutered so they were home buddies.

I gave him one such cat and he was stuck to them like glue. Every where they went. the cat walked alongside like a dog. He stayed with them 18 years and they couldn't stop talking about what a great cat he was and how they lucked out with this cat. lol But they kept forgetting he was neutered. lol

Well to end on a spanking note, my Mom once thought she would please her husband and paint the dining room. She took out a can of paint, a roller and went for it.
She was so pleased and proud of herself and couldn't wait for my Dad to come home to show him.

Well he came home alright. But she did not get the compliments she wanted.
He grabbed his head aghast at what she had done. She used too much paint and it was all streaking down the wall. By now it was almost all dry as well.

He started screaming and she started crying. He grabbed sand paper and immediately began to scrape the paint before it got too hard to come off. He worked the whole night scraping while my Mom sat sniffling. lol

Boy that sure was a story they laughed at later. My Dad would hug her and shake his head laughing at what she had done and my Mom kept saying how he hurt her feelings cause she worked so hard to please him and instead, got a yelling of a lifetime.

I'd sit and watch the two of them thinking, if ever two people were meant for each other, those two were.
They were love birds till the end.

Have a good one :)

Fire On a Cool Wet Day and Dog Grooming

It is always good to start up a small fire on the veranda just to watch it burn.
It's basically safe and a lot more controlled than having one in a dry forest with many other people.
My hose is always ready but I am not very worried because guess what?
It rained again today. Everything is wet.
So with the fire keeping the cement veranda warm, I was able to sit and try to cut off the dirty mats off my dog who doesn't like anyone touching him with scissors.
But to my amazement he rolled over and let me play with a pair over his tummy.
He has very long fur that mats easily and he will never let you brush him the way you want to. So you sit pulling the fur out of him by hand and so much comes out in clumps. He just doesn't like the procedure. If you don't do it, the whole house is covered in fur clumps.

It must be very uncomfortable for him, in the end, to have the fur pulled by these mats.
After a bit of complaining and my soothing him saying
Hey! Whats up with that?
Don't you want to feel better?
I think he realized I was trying to help him as I do with the other dogs.
It's going to take a few days of work though.
Beau is a problem because he never trusts anyone except for pats.
I think it had to do with his Mom, a country dog, which was tied to a chain and the pup, still with closed eyes, was always rolled around by the chain, which must have hurt him.
As the kids hovered around these pups, the Mom could not be under estimated to bite. She was very protective of her babies.
So when one of them was attacked by wasps, eating it alive, my boys took it away and nursed it at home and brought it for nursing to the mom a few times a day.
It had a big flap of torn skin we didn't know what to do with and she just went and bit it off. lol solving the problem. The big hole began to heal up then. Funny how babies are so resilient. Under normal circumstances, that pup should have died.

We chose a little black female puppy for ourselves and took her also to keep her from being abused by the chain. I have to say she was clean and nice and warm and was growing quite nicely. but then my son went to the pups one day with her and this little tyke with eyes barely open, stood and barked at him as if to say:
Hey. Do you see me? I am the one you should take.
I told my son, I think this dog chose you and wants to be yours.
My son would have taken them all and his heart was heavy as he took pity on Beau and finally said: Ok. I'll take you. You need me. lol

He took some of the robust pups to the nearby restaurant and asked if anyone wanted a puppy and found homes for most of them except for Beau and the little runt, we saved from the wasps.
Our neighbors gave him away to a farmer and my youngest son cried because he was so afraid the pup would die. He was mad at me for not taking it.
We found out where the farmer was and I drove my son out there.
I told the woman the puppy story and she was so kind, as to let my son enter her home and visit with the pup. He was in a box, safe , warm and fed with a bottle just as we were doing at home.

My son came out beaming with joy telling me :
"Mom, they do exactly like we do with it."

The woman assured us that the pup was going up north where it would have a great life in freedom. I felt sorry for Beau cause he could have used this freedom as well but I couldn't take him away from the kids who were so absorbed with him.

Beau loves company and will never leave you alone . He'll keep bobbing your arm up and down so you put it around him all day if you let him lol
He was quite friendly but when we took him for walks, people would let their dogs run loose and they would sometimes come and try to attack Beau on a leash.
Nugget would come to his defense until eventually Beau learned to stand up for himself.

The mats around his legs are soo thick and long I am having trouble with my scissors to cut through them .
I have to get close to the skin and make sure it doesn't pull or he will jump up again or give me a little growl.
I have one almost cut off on one leg but it is a long process and taking me an awful long time to do.
It must be also hard on the dog to lie still for so long. In summer having such heavy fur is also uncomfortable for him. I wish I knew how to shear it off him for summer.
All the underside is matted and this will be a big job for me now to clip off so he can finally have a decent bath.

It makes me wonder how wolves deal with this matting problem in the wild?
I never see any of them on TV with matted, clumpy fur or even a Husky and they have very thick fur, like Beau does.

I wish Beau would let us care for him but he jumps around like a jack rabbit and you think it would not be good if you knicked him because that would make it that much worse the next time. He's just a chicken when it comes to trust issues concerning his body.

Lately I have been thinking to get some sleeping pills from the vet in order to keep him calm enough to work on him but I think he read my mind cause he lets me groom him in small doses. lol
I might just get it done and he might learn to trust me a little bit more once he sees how much better he feels.
Poor Beau.
At least we can sit together and watch the fire and have some quality time together outside.
Nugget had his clipping already but he is old and sleeps most of the time.
He used to have beautiful fur but now with his bad legs he sits in his business and its hard to keep washing him in winter. I hose off the underside and then let him in to dry off.
I clip everything off and he looks awful.
Poor Nugget
And Tanya got herself into trouble today as well.
While I was messing with Beau, my son jumped up and carried her to me alarmed that she was choking.
I stuck my finger down her throat for lack of a better thing to do and thumped her on the back and she was fine looking at me wondering what I was doing. lol
We would be devastated if anything happened to her. She is the Lady of the house and keeps order. lol
Poor Tanya.
Poor Me.
lol
Have a great day!!!

Vets

Putting down your best friend is the hardest thing anyone can do.
In the past, we worried about leaving a dog or giving it to the SPCA because it was known animals were given or sold to scientists who did experiments on them.
So in order to avoid that, you made sure the dog was put down before leaving so it would not be made to suffer.
After watching this video, I now have shivers going up my spine.

Do we now have to take the body home after euthenasia, to make sure the vet did a proper job?
This is another example, that no one can be trusted to do the right thing and for the right reasons.

We put our 7 year old shepherd down because of major hip displasia. He would have needed
many operations,at another facility who did this sort of thing, lots of money, and no guarantees that he would not be afflicted with the same problem after wards.

We did not say good bye to him as this would have been too painful and I would have broken down last minute and taken him home. But it cost us a lot to do this after the xrays and such, plus cremation costs.
Now to find out we paid for one thing and then if the Vet did another ......??????

This gives plenty to think about.
Vets get samples from companies and like doctors, they push products for these companies ,making patients sorta like guinea pigs.

This sort of makes the whole system kinda untrustworthy. It makes the pot calling the kettle black a reality .
Vets have become pushy people, making you feel bad for not doing something or not feeding the dog a special brand of expensive and yet maybe still unhealthy dog food.
They have been known to lead people on to spend more money.

This man was stunned to see his dog wake up but now, how can he put it down again, when the dogs' will and destiny, is to live?

-------------------------
Man to dog trainer: "Every time a bell rings, my dog goes into the corner."
Dog trainer: "That's OK, he is a Boxer."

A wife says to her husband one weekend morning, "We've got such a clever dog. He brings in the daily newspapers every morning." Her husband replies, "Well, lots of dogs can do that." The wife responded, "But we've never subscribed to any!"

It's Been A Long Day

This is my very precious one. The one I love so much. In 7th Heaven
So how can I be angry at her for doing her job looking for her ball
on my lap top keyboard?
She is a shitzu x bichon. Mostly all white except for a few beige spots on her which I like. She has a Maltese nose which is what I like as well.

I can't keep the fur around her mouth white because when she eats, the food colors it.

She is so happy and confident and now sleeps with her eyes closed as opposed to before when she slept with her eyes open which was eerie. lol

--------------------------------------------------------------

These are my new Reebok shoes, given to me as a present by my son cause I told him I loved his.
Now we are twins.
They are so comfortable , have arch support, and make your food look small and
trim.
I usually never like what I see in stores for my feet but these ...
I can sleep in. lol

--------------------------------------------------------------
This man and woman were making love when the woman cried out "Oh my God! I hear my husband coming! You must get out of here fast! Grab your clothes and jump out the window!" The man hurriedly jumped out the window and fell into some bushes. As luck would have it, it started to rain. He sat there, wondering what he was going to do when a bunch of joggers happened to jog by. The man quickly jumped up and joined the joggers. As he was running along with the rest of the joggers, one asked him "Do you always run in the nude?" The man answered, while gasping for air, "Oh yes, it feels so free having the air blow over your skin while you are running." Then another runner asked, "Do you always run carrying your clothes on your arm?" The man answered breathlessly, "Oh yes, that way I can get dressed at the end of the run and get in my car to go home." Then another runner asked "Do you always wear a condom when you run?" "Well," he answered, "only when it's raining."

A Cover for a Lover

This is a cover I am making and embroidering . I put the squares together in panels but will do some other things to it before putting it completely together.
I already have the sides to attach to it compliments of my knitting machine. :)

Pretty soon it will be ready to use for Christmas to bring color to a room and picture taking.
I have to find some outlines to make hearts and birds, like an owl, to fill in the empty squares.
Then I have to think what to put for the backing. Maybe I can quilt it as well.
So far it looks great and I am quite happy with it.

It's not Christmas but you have to see this crazy dog . He is having the time of his life playing. This is a great way to wash animals.

I remember in Quebec we would have snow like in the video.
My Mom would take out her Persian carpet from the living room and we would put snow on it
and broom it on both sides.
It would take all the dust out of it and clean it so when we would bring it back inside it smelled so fresh for another year. I don't remember my Mom ever using chemicals on it to wash it.
Just plain fresh white snow.

Three women go down to Mexico one night to celebrate college graduation,

get drunk, and wake up in jail, only to find that they are to be executed in

the morning, though none of them can remember what they did the night

before.

The first one, a redhead, is strapped in the electric chair and is asked

if she has any last words. She says, "I just graduated from Trinity Bible

College and believe in the almighty power of God to intervene on the behalf

of the innocent."

They throw the switch and nothing happens. They all immediately fall to

the floor on their knees, beg for forgiveness, and release her.

The second one, a brunette, is strapped in and gives her last words. "I

just graduated from the Harvard School of Law and I believe in the power of

justice to intervene on the part of the innocent."

They throw the switch and again, nothing happens. Again they all

immediately fall to their knees, beg for forgiveness and release her.

The last one (you knew it), a blonde, is strapped in and says, "Well, I'm

from A & M University and just graduated with a degree in

Electrical Engineering, and I'll tell ya right now, ya'll ain't gonna

electrocute nobody if you don't plug this thing in.

Suck It Up Cupcake.

"Suck it up cupcake, cause there ain't no changes."

This little picture is a carbon copy of my little dog Tanya.
She has the same temperament.
She can be pesty and loveable, pushy, nosy, curious and an excellent guard and protector.

For her small size it is quite impressive to see her Lion Heart.

This caption says that nothing will change for the new year and if you liked or disliked her, it doesn't matter cause she is here to stay to give you more of the same. lol

Well no problems here. I can't imagine her not being around.
I love her to pieces :)
I think this little dog is a girl too but they gave her a cigar and a gun.

I guess her name must be Annie Oakley too. Rootin, shootin cow girl who will not be bullied by the cow hands. lol

My Tanya has longer, curly hair, which makes her look a little dishevelled and devilishly
cute, which makes it hard to discipline her.
She gets away with everything by giving you that look which says, well that was fun, come on, let's do some more. lol
You almost want to join her and forget what she did . You just can't resist to love hug and pat her and of course she laps it all up and entertains you some more. lol

Animals certainly do bring out the best in us.Is it no wonder they are man's best friend?

Tomorrow Forever

Tomorrow I will sleep till birds awake me.
Sleep till sun rays beat upon my face.
Wait till the wind blows your sweet essence to my soul,
And know my heart will never break.

I will sleep till morrow comes.
You will sweep me off my feet.
I will taste your soft wet lips,
And there will be no time to weep.

I will sleep till time crashes onto the shore
And stops beside this wise old Oak,
Who sees every day unfold
And witnesses me sleep.

I will sleep till I awake.
This no one can stop,
but first I'll call to hear your voice,
Lest I forget to wake.

So much depends on you my love,
Each day and each tomorrow.
No one can love you as I do.
I'll sleep forever in my sorrow.

So hear me well and hurry home.
Don't let my life be slept away.
Each time I look into your bright lit eyes,
I miss and love you more and more.

A Lady's Life.

Little Ruffneck

I love walking on the beach collecting rocks.
I come home and sort them and try to see what pictures
I can see in them.
It's amazing sometimes what you can find in them.

In this little rock, I used the left hand side.
It looks perfect as a tree trunk with the stripes it has on it.
All it Needed was a little Ruff Neck to hide beside it.
So I drew him and now he is drying. It'll take a week or so
but then I can finish him.

I included a ruler just to give you a birds eye view as to how
large this little rock is.

These are fun projects.
Some stones can stand on their own.
Some you can glue magnets to or felt.
Some you can even make jewelry out of or just collect them in a
vase or jar and enjoy them when you want to.
They of course all have to be spray varnished.

Another thing a woman used to do. She'd collect round rocks and cement them into
a wooden frame but those were plain rocks. These painted ones would look great if a collection was put into a wooden frame and set in clear varnish or plaster or even stuck onto a designer jewelry box, individually.
I think if they were all painted like this and collaged into a sort of stepping stone,
one could display it beautifully on a living room table, with a felt backing.

It's your own personal work of art where you can capture your life's history.

Well it's another sunny day. Time to Enjoy!
Hope you have a good one.

Killer Merengue

A wealthy old Gentleman decides to go on a hunting safari in Africa , taking his faithful, elderly dog named Killer, along for the compan

One day the old dog starts chasing rabbits and before long, discovers that he's lost. Wandering about, he notices a leopard heading rapidly in his direction with the intention of having lunch.

The old dog thinks, "Oh, ho! I'm in deep doo-doo now!" Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the leopard is about to leap, the old dog exclaims loudly, "Boy, that was one delicious leopard! I wonder, if there are any more around here?"

Hearing this, the young leopard halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror comes over him and he slinks away into the trees. "Whew!", says the leopard, "That was close! That old dog nearly had me!"

Meanwhile, a monkey who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the leopard. So, off he goes, but the old dog sees him heading after the leopard with great speed, and figures that something must be up.

The monkey soon catches up with the leopard, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the leopard.

The young leopard is furious at being made a fool of and says, "Here, monkey, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine!

Now, the old dog sees the leopard coming with the monkey on his back and thinks, "What am I going to do now?", but instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet, and just when they get close enough to hear, the old dog says...

"Where's that monkey? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another leopard!

Moral of this story...

Don't mess with the old dogs...
age and skill will always overcome youth and treachery! BS and brilliance only come with age and experience.

A Dog Named Beau

Since I have a dog named Beau, well actually, he's isn't mine but my oldest son's dog, I could not resist to put on this bit with Johnny Carson and Jimmy Stewart reading a poem on a dog named Beau.

Our boy is similar, loves his freedom and to eat but he doesn't bite. When you sit he never stops pushing your arm up so you pat him. He can be very pesty. As a pup he was very friendly and smart, but because people's dog's who were not leashed, came up to him with aggressive tendencies, when my son took him for walks, he learned not to trust other dogs and barks at them before they decide to come to him when he is leashed.
Because of this, he doesn't go out much now lol
The young have the girls and no time for dogs and the old are too old to deal with this. lol

We jokingly call Beau an ol junk yard dog because of his colors and his rugged stalky look. He is a golden / border collie and something else mix lol .
I never saw his Dad but I understand he was humungous. Both parents were country dogs. The Dad got hit by a car and the Mom was shot by conservationists, for chasing wild deer.
Can you imagine that? There is no freedom for dogs anymore.
Even in the countryside. But the owners were warned.

Beau loves to play hide and seek, especially when he's been doing something bad. lol
He is really a great dog.
But then...... most dogs are. Even the bad ones.

I can see why Jimmy Sewart would be crying for all dogs ........ named Beau.
Enjoy.

Don't Mind If I Do

Now I can't see anything better than sitting down and putting your feet up.
Of course not that high up but
just enough to get the blood flowin to where it belongs. lol

The rest is easy enough,
a good fishin book, a nudge of brandy and a hat to keep the sun off outta your eyes.

Life is GOOOD!

Walking can add minutes to your life.
This enables you at 85 years old
to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing
home at $7000 per month.

My mother in law started walking
five miles a day when she was 80.
Now she's 81 years old
and we don't know where the hell she is.

I like long walks,
especially when they are taken
by people who annoy me.

The only reason I would take up walking
is so that I could hear heavy breathing again.

I have to walk early in the morning,
before my brain figures out what I'm doing..

I joined a health club last year,
spent about 400 bucks.
Haven't lost a pound.
Apparently you have to go there.

Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise',
I wash my mouth out with chocolate.

I do have flabby thighs,
but fortunately my stomach covers them.

The advantage of exercising every day
is so when you die, they'll say,
'Well, she looks good doesn't she.'

If you are going to try cross-country skiing,
start with a small country.

I know I got a lot of exercise
the last few years,......
just getting over the hill.

We all get heavier as we get older,
because there's a lot more information in our heads.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Every time I start thinking too much
about how I look,
I just find a Happy Hour place;
and by the time I leave,
I look just fine.

You could run this over to your friends
But just e-mail it to them instead!
