Childrens' Rights To the Dark Side.

Children's Rights to the Dark Side.
http://www.ttplanet.com/images/vader.jpg

Sherman Alexie is the author of “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian,” winner of the 2007 National Book Award in Young People’s Literature.
He laughed at Meghan Cox Gurdon
when she complained about contemporary young adult literature as being too dark.

He said, how is anything shocking to young adults, when they have already been raped by clergy, or had babies at 12- 14.years of age.
Or grow up with drugs and alcohol abuse in the home, murder, lived with a serial killer, and wife and child beater. etc....

Many people believe like Sherman Alexie that maybe by knowing things, young adults could be spared of some of these things.
This is what psychologists feed us every day.

You know......two wrongs, do not make a right.

First of all, if adults were not exposed to such things, maybe they would not do these things.
If something is not good for your child, it probably is not good for you either.

Second. Just because one person was exposed to dark issues, doesn't mean it is right
to hurt the souls of other young adults whose families are good,
responsible, loving, God fearing people. It is these same people who fight to save, abused children. Otherwise, why would they care?

Third and this is the biggie. If our children are robbed of their child hood, which is a crime in itself, and if they become adults at what say....
10 years of age,( just to give it an age because one can easily go down to 2-3 years of age,)
how is this right?

How can a child this age, stop dark things from happening to it, by knowing it exists?
They are not smart enough, nor strong enough.
Dark issues are crimes against adolescence and therefore against humanity.

We, as parents and adults, fight every day for the rights our children have, to be children.

Simple respect from other people, even who don't agree, is not too much to ask in a society which prides itself on being loving and caring.

It's not a question about freedom to do things but a question of maturity to know right from wrong and have respect for other peoples' rights.

But as it turns out......
You have porn and rap that calls Mothers bitches and whores and people making millions on this sort of thing to heal themselves, while killing other good Mothers' childrens' souls.

You have people fighting for the right to be prostitutes as opposed to Africa where they want an education and steer clear of prostitution.

You have drug addicts fighting for their rights to take drugs as opposed to many places like Singapore who has a zero tolerance for drugs and gum. People don't complain.

All of the above will have side effects, which now becomes something society has to pay for to heal and very costly.

Then to demand on top of all this , copy right laws, to make more money out of, as owners of this type of entertainment.........

one has to sit and think ......
no wonder the 10 commandments have no place in front of a Judicial Institution.

It is shameful to put true love in front of a judicial system, supposedly portraying truth and justice.
There is none to be got there.

Why are we fighting for good schools to educate our young?
Why are we asking for a good country to live in?
What constitutes or what makes a country good?

We say a child is smart when he studies and gets good grades.

How do we grade, what a good society is, if it is based on freedoms profiteering from drugs, porn, prostitution, corruption, fraud etc.....
Do we say let's look at what Europe is doing? And Islamic countries have nothing to be proud of either with the way women are treated.
Honor killings , sharia laws while men sit do drugs, rape 12 year old girls and procure harems making tons of children to feed in an over populated world, while their cities have no infrastructure or education.

Shall we look at other countries?

OK let's look at Europe.........lol Let's look at how many people run away from their countries and then sit and complain in the free countries living off of social welfare and health care they didn't put money into.
Rights, truths, freedom, love............all imbalances. People want, but do not understand what this all means. And we know but because of these new people, we cannot pass the right laws through democracy.
Democracy is not just about what people want but about what is right as well.
You cannot protect a drug addict against himself or a prostitute against herself especially if they are minors.

If children get old before their time, they still have no capacity to understand, because the brain cannot absorb all this information. To be educated takes time.
Before a child is old enough to have an opinion, he has to be exposed to a wide variety of books and people and life and laws and history.
Children have to grow into information gradually, otherwise they grow up into thinking everything is ok.
They become, because of immaturity, what you do not want them to become.

The word " no" is not supported in dark issues.

Life is not all about fun and entertainment. What you expose your children to is what they will grow up into.

So, if like Sherman says, the kids are already exposed to the dark side on Indian reservations, and we see what it does to the kids there, how is it ok to expose more children to this sort of thing?
Logically, one would expect to want to have less exposure, so kids are not laden with all these sordid affairs, they don't, nor should they, understand.

No matter how much you educate children, if they are not ready for this information,
which they are not, all you are doing is killing souls.
One would think the Native people would understand this better than any one else.

Two wrongs do not make a right.

Show children dreams, sweetness, work ethics. Guide them out of darkness into a world where they belong, and watch them grow and flower.

Go to Africa.
The Missionaries show you abused, starving children.
They take these children and put them into a different environment with food, water, clothing
and schools and then they show you what beautiful children these children turn into.

What's our problem in North America? How is it our psychologists do not see the benefits of keeping children away from dark issues?
Instead they promote them at school.
Most of these dark issues, would not occur if people did not see them everywhere.

We never heard about beheadings in North America until the Taliban.
Now every second body we find is decapitated.
Feet, hands, heads found everywhere.

You sit on a bus and a guy flips out, takes a machete
and chops your head off for nothing.

Then we sit spending money to debate why he did this?
He had rights to go insane?
What about the justice for the innocent, beheaded person?

It can be argued as much as you want but
my Mother once told me not to put my hand on the hot stove burner and
the first thing I did,
when I saw a red hot burner, was tell my Mother :
Mom, don't put your hand on the red hot burner and then went and did it.

I was no different than any other kid is today or will be tomorrow.
If my Mother today, tells me not to put my hand on a hot burner, I probably won't lol

Kids, no matter how many times you tell them, do not understand until they are mature enough to understand.
So every one who tells you showing kids dark things is ok, is nothing but a liberal with a hidden agenda.
This person is there to make money at someones' expense.
He has a right to do it but parents also have rights to say no.

Kids have rights to be kids and no one has a right to rob them of their child hood,
which is what is happening in North America and Europe today against the wishes of many parents.

Megan Cox Gurdon is right. Time to pull in the reins.
Children need their time to be innocent and to play in innocence in their own world.
and adults have to behave as adults.
They have to be respectful, dignified and role models to the young.
Freedom is not a right. It's a privilege.

People also misconstrue what an adult is.
Maybe what we need is a different definition, as to what makes an adult an adult.
It's not just turning 21.

Have a good one:)

Little Ruffneck

I love walking on the beach collecting rocks.
I come home and sort them and try to see what pictures
I can see in them.
It's amazing sometimes what you can find in them.

In this little rock, I used the left hand side.
It looks perfect as a tree trunk with the stripes it has on it.
All it Needed was a little Ruff Neck to hide beside it.
So I drew him and now he is drying. It'll take a week or so
but then I can finish him.

I included a ruler just to give you a birds eye view as to how
large this little rock is.

These are fun projects.
Some stones can stand on their own.
Some you can glue magnets to or felt.
Some you can even make jewelry out of or just collect them in a
vase or jar and enjoy them when you want to.
They of course all have to be spray varnished.

Another thing a woman used to do. She'd collect round rocks and cement them into
a wooden frame but those were plain rocks. These painted ones would look great if a collection was put into a wooden frame and set in clear varnish or plaster or even stuck onto a designer jewelry box, individually.
I think if they were all painted like this and collaged into a sort of stepping stone,
one could display it beautifully on a living room table, with a felt backing.

It's your own personal work of art where you can capture your life's history.

Well it's another sunny day. Time to Enjoy!
Hope you have a good one.

The Water Pik Difference.

This being summer and hot, everyone will be splashing in pools and swimming in lakes and oceans and seas.

When I went to Hawaii I did my fair share of rolling in the waves and apart from the sticky sand which refused to wash off for a week, even when I got home, my ear was water logged.
I slept on it for a few nights but the water refused to come out and it felt so uncomfortable, it was driving me nuts.

So I put some comfortably hot water into my water pik and decided to jet stream my ear.
It melted the wax inside, behind which the water was trapped and everything came out in one huge ooze into the sink. I couldn't believe it.

I felt immediately, so much better and was so impressed with this water pik, that I have to tell people how good a job it did cause now I could even hear better lol.

You have to do it gently so you do not damage your ear drum however.
You never know, some people might not be too careful, but it sure does the job.
You don't really have to stick the tube deep inside the ear, just enough so the water goes inside and melts the wax. Remember you still need to use the tube to clean your teeth.
So you do not want it touching anything.

I remember me taking my Grand Mother to the hospital for just the same thing and the doctor went in with a few pinchers and he rolled the wax inside and pulled out a big blob but this way, it was much easier and a lot less painful. In fact there was no pain at all and saved me an uncomfortable trip to the hospital.

Little Johnny was in a spelling bee in class.

He had to spell the word and use it in a sentence.

The teacher asked him to spell the word, "ear."

Little Johnny stood up and proudly said, "Ear. E. A. R."

Then to use it in a sentence, he pretended to take a big hit off a joint and then while pretending to have his lungs full of smoke he pretended to pass the joint to little Suzy and said, "Ear!"

Whose Your Moma? Demi Moore.. Move on Over.

Ivana Trump and Hunk.

Men Do It.

Single older Ladies Can Get Their Sugar Too.

Here is the rule.

"Once you get to a certain age, it has to stop being an issue. This is the rule I've heard: Halve the older persons age (30/2=15) then add seven (15+7=22) and that's the age difference you can have. So if you're 30, the youngest you can date is 22, but if you think about it, it's actually a pretty decent rule of thumb."

Hmm Life’s a Blast loll

ROSEBUDS & HANGING BASKETS
A teenage granddaughter
comes downstairs for her date
with this see-through blouse on and no bra.
Her grandmother just pitched a fit,
telling her not to dare go out like that!
The teenager tells her!
'Loosen up Grams.
These are modern times.
You gotta let your rose buds show!'
and out she goes.
The next day the teenager comes down stairs,
and the grandmother is sitting there with no top on.
The teenager wants to die.
She explains to her grandmother
that she has friends coming over
and that it is just not appropriate....
The grandmother says,
'Loosen up,
Sweetie.
If you can show off your rose buds,
then I can display my hanging baskets.

If Our Planet had only 100 People on it....

(Archives July 31st 1997 , newspaper clipping I found. )

If we could shrink the earth’s population to a village of 100 people,

with all the existing ratios, remaining the same,

it would look like this.:

There would be 57 Asians

21 Europeans

14 from the Western Hemisphere

8 Africans

51 would be female

49 male

70 would be non white

70 would be non Christian

Half the wealth would be in the hands of only 6 people and

All 6 would be citizens of the USA

80 would live in substandard housing

70 would be unable to read

50 would suffer malnutrition

Only one would have a college education and

no one would own a computer.

Interesting. :)

and what good is it if we can't laugh at ourselves, eh?....

A plane is on its way to Detroit when a blonde woman in economy class gets up and moves into an open seat in the first class section.

The flight attendant watches her do this, and politely informs the woman that she must sit in economy class because that's the type of ticket she paid for.

The blonde replies, "I'm blonde, I'm beautiful, I'm going to Detroit and I'm staying right here."

After repeated attempts and no success at convincing the woman to move, the flight attendant goes into the cockpit and informs the pilot and co-piolet that there's a blonde bimbo sitting in first class who refuses to go back to her proper seat. The co-pilot goes back to the woman and explains why she needs to move, but once again the woman replies by saying, "I'm blonde, I'm beatiful, I'm going to Detroit and I'm staying right here."

The co-pilot returns to the cockpit and suggests that perhaps they should have the arrival gate call the police and have the woman arrested when they land. The pilot says, "You say she's blonde? I'll handle this. I'm married to a blonde. I speak blonde." He goes back to the woman and whispers quietly in her ear, and she says, "Oh, I'm sorry," then quickly moves back to her seat in economy class.

The flight attendant and co-pilot are amazed and ask him what he said to get her to move back to economy without causing any fuss.

"I told her first class isn't going to Detroit."

Pandora is Back in Town

In BC we are having a provincial election and it is quite an upsetting one for me.

I heard on the news that the NDP and the Green Party are saying they have enough support to legalize pot.

Now why is it upsetting?
I am a Mother and I have kids out there.

For one thing, if the young people support this, it is a very bad sign.
It means our young people are the walking dead.
Young people are supposed to be vibrant, clear eyed, happy, future oriented people with lots
to live for and instead they already gave up before they even began living.

It means this Province doesn’t know right from wrong.

The Province cannot distinguish between good and evil.

The Province doesn’t care about making good judgement decisions which means
catastrophe and death to many people on the street.

It means a lot more angry people, will be walking and driving our city streets,
It means the Province will have more hungry, unemployed, homeless and sick to contend with and support. And the list goes on.

The only ones to gain, will be the people running drug sales, police, army and cemetaries.

Every one else will have to fork up to support the walking dead because they
will be the next NDP and Green targets. As it is most of your paycheck is going to support social issues. How much support do they need before we all do?

When you can’t or refuse to make money on your own, you look into the pockets of
people who worked to have a little for their old age, since there is no one to help there there either thanks to government. and social services bent on destroying families.

This is not right.
Something totally wrong is going on here and we should be wary of Pandora.

Pandora is back in town and she is not here to help us.
There is more to life than sex, work and paying social services for survival.

Otherwise why would people always look up to the sun ?

Is the future and hope sitting in dim lit, smokey dungeons?
Isn't this defeating the Green ideology?
We complain about cows farting.:)
We pass laws against smoking in public places.

Is it right for the NDP to create more misery, just to say they have a more important job to do to keep it at that level?

If people are going to die from pot, cocaine and heroin, what difference does it make to save nature or even pay into social services.? No point to it at all.
No one will live long enough to enjoy it.

You die either way.
Young people have a lot to do in this world and they
should stop clouding their eyes and get to it.

Don't vote for pot. Thats desperation talking.
Vote for innovation, business, prosperity, a clean life.
Thats why the sun shines. It shines for life!
