Where Are Our Fish?

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/15/world/asia/15fish.html?pagewanted=all

Reading articles like from the link above about China and the toxic fish they sell is truly upsetting.
Lets forget about Walmart, the biggest culprit where foreign produce is concerned. I went to the Real Canadian Superstore and tried to find some good Canadian seafood.
I read labels now and some don't say where the seafood comes from while all the others say the fish comes from Thailand, China or some other Asian country.

We live on the coast of BC. Our laws are very strict when it comes to fish. We have all these checks on our produce to make sure good food is sold to the public and then we have nothing but produce from countries known to be toxic growers, on our store shelves.

How is it the public is not outraged?

Where is our BC / Canada sea food and produce?

We have great oysters grown by our own people. Where are they? I hardly find anything except wild salmon from our BC waters. In fact if we want to make sure the fish comes from Canadian waters, we have to go to the Steveston wharf to buy it, direct from the fishermen.
We are not allowed to eat our own dug up oysters from the beach because they say they are polluted. Same with crabs.

We make a big ordeal about farm fishing in ocean waters, which they say promotes sea worms on farmed fish, giving them to wild salmon, yet we buy toxic fish from other countries?

One article I read said China puts chicken cages over ponds and when the chickens poop, the poop drops into the ponds and the fish eat the poop and then the people eat the fish and it is sold to other countries. The chicken are fed hormones and food from polluted land and waters.

Where are our government officials to stop toxic fish from entering our borders?
Do they check the fish? Are there labels saying the fish are checked by our inspectors?
I didn't see any.
We should not be buying produce known to be toxic, from Asian countries.
We sell them good food.

I think the time has come for people to grow their own food at home and feed the animals food they want in their system, to put on our own tables.
I know the animals we kept were grown on good grain, corn, bread, lettuce and back yard grass, dandelions etc... free of pesticides and insecticides. I know because I was the one who was sent to dig out the dandelions while our neighbor grew huge ones for their salads, in their gardens.

It's one thing when you live in the interior of a country where sea food is not readily available but to live on a coast country and not be able to find readily available Canadian sea food except for salmon, is indeed un acceptable. It should also be cheaper because the shipping costs should be a lot less than say fish, having to travel farther across oceans and land.

Should the FDA be taken to court for not being more stringent with food suppliers??
We go to restaurants and they always try to cut corners buying cheap meat and fish, so what are we eating?

We always speak about health to lower medicare costs and then we are served bad food on our family tables and restaurants, bought from stores and butchers we are told to trust in.
Its something to be outraged about.

We have homeless people and too many Canada geese. Someone had an idea to catch these geese and give them to the homeless shelters for people to eat and they refused to eat them because of the lead content these birds might be carrying. They wouldn't eat these birds for free and here we are paying so much for seafood, not knowing what we are eating.

Maybe we should catch these birds and breed them in our back yards.
When we eat goose, it should be our own goose from Canada and the poop they make used for flower beds and trees. Imagine having goslings waddling around your back yard. They eat all the yard bugs keeping your yard clean and fish in a carefully managed childrens pool, eat all the mosquitoes while providing natural fertilizer for flowers and the front lawn which benefit bees and birds. Bees are required in nature and they are dying.
A whole new eco system could be managed in every back yard.

I am a proud Canadian Consumer .
I want to see MADE IN CANADA products on my store shelves.
How about you?
Have a great day!!

Honey What's Under Your Cap?

Honey Mushrooms - These are my very favorite mushrooms and the only ones I pick.
You know they are good because other insects like to have a go at them.
I like to pick them when they just sprout, very young around 5 am. They grow in bunches so it is important to cut the stem so the roots stay in place and so they can regrow.Otherwise you lose a very good, replenishing crop of fungus.

Ours are usually found around birch trees but the ones in this picture are said to be found around oak trees.

Mushrooms are good for you as they contain selenium- (esp portabello) They also have cancer fighting agents in them especially prostate cancer.
They contain
three essential B-vitamins: riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid and potassium.

They help regulate blood pressure, and keep balance between water in the fat and muscle tissues.

My Mom pickled them in vinegar, pickling spices and oil and we just couldn't get enough of them.

I never knew what they were called in English but thanks to a Ukrainian stamp I found,on the net, they had an English translation.

After a morning of collecting, we had to rush home and put them into salty water so as to make all the little insects and worms come out of them. Then they were sorted, thoroughly washed, parboiled and pickled.

The whole winter we feasted and feasted well as they go with any dish and can also be fried with onions garlic and garnished with sour creme. MMMMM!

It is dangerous to pick mushrooms you don't know. We never risked it even if people said other mushrooms like the puff ones, were good.
If you don't know it, don't pick it.
I always think if other creatures eat it then its ok. It's hard to come by a good mushroom if you go late because the insects get them first. lol

Some how the ones from the store are not that good. They have no taste.

2/3 c. white wine vinegar
1/2 c. water
2 large cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 tsp. salt
5 peppercorns
1/2 bay leaf
2 whole cloves
1 lb. medium mushrooms
1 to 2 tbsp. olive oil

Place vinegar, water, garlic, peppercorns, bay leaf and cloves in medium saucepan. Heat to boiling over high heat. Stir in cleaned mushrooms. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered 10 minutes. Remove form heat and cool to room temperature. Spoon into glass jars. Spoon oil on top. Cover tightly. Refrigerate at least 5 days before serving. Yield: 3 cups.

Not fun being old.......

OLD people have problems that you haven't even considered yet!

An 85-year-old man was requested by his Doctor for a sperm count as part of his physical exam.

The doctor gave the man a jar and said, 'Take this jar home and bring back a semen sample tomorrow.'

The next day the 85-year-old man reappeared at the doctor's office and gave him the jar, which was as clean and empty as on the previous day..

The doctor asked what happened and the man explained, 'Well, doc, it's like this--first I tried with my right hand, but nothing. Then I tried with my left hand, but still nothing...

'Then I asked my wife for help. She tried with her right hand, then with her left, still nothing. She tried with her mouth, first with the teeth in, then with her teeth out, still nothing.

'We even called up Arleen, the lady next door and she tried too, first with both hands, then an armpit, and she even tried squeezin' it between her knees, but still nothing.'

The doctor was shocked! 'You asked your neighbor?'

The old man replied, 'Yep, none of us could get the jar open.'

Cheeky Squirrel by A Lady's Life

I am faded.
Lost........absorbed by the
Enchanted woods around me
I gave way to my troubles
To no future and no past.

Indifferent I sit in these beloved woods.
For in them there is no tomorrow.
It's all today.....today .....today.......

And if not for a cheeky squirrel
Chittering to awake me
I'd be there still
Captured and enamored
Lost inside myself and thoughts.

I am faded and absorbed.
I feed the woods with my bloods' soul,
For here, no tomorrow's to be found,
Just today... today ... today

And if not for the cheeky squirrel,
Chittering to awaken,
Anger me and pull me out,
I'd be still, without tomorrow.
Instead.........

I smile into this beloved face
The face I know so well
The face that grows old with me
The warm, soft face, that dwells

Deep inside my heart, where
your eyes can see through mine,
Tired, worn, and true,
I have to think, this cheeky squirrel
Brought me back to you.

Reflections

Hi Pretty flower.
I looked and looked at you in my room and thought you were modern art of some sort.
It is only now, looking at the photo I took of you, that I finally see
you are a flower seemingly full of the nectar of life.
What a great shot someone took.

Here's to Wonderful Husbands

When I got home after a day of ice fishing yesterday,
my wife hadn't arrived from work yet.

To make her happy, I put in her favourite cd in
the sound system, and then I ran some hot water and added some bubbles.

When she got home, everything was ready for her to do the dishes.....

Am I a thoughtful husband or what!!

Oh Oh!

Little Penguin looking how to pass his day.

Hungry seal
Also looking to see how to pass his day.

They have a friendly game of tag.
Thankfully the penguin got away.

I always liked these little guys in their tuxedos .
They are soooo cute.

I also thought seals were cute till I saw one eat a penguin.

Then I thought killer whales were cute till I saw how truly smart they were.
They are thinking creatures who know how to hunt in coordinated packs and teach each other,
in a similar way men hunters, teach others.

It is a fact of life that survival plays a big role in how creatures behave.
Sometimes they are friends and sometimes a friend becomes your next meal.

I remember how many bunnies and chickens, friends I raised and loved,
became food on my plate.

I would unknowingly eat them, and then go out still looking for them, asking neighbors
if they saw my chicken or bunny.

My parents would smile their secret smile and never tell me that my meal
came from my best friend.
They knew I wouldn't eat it. lol

So they let me think it escaped and go on looking for it.
Needless to say, I never found my escaped pet.
I sat and sulked for a while but then thought, maybe they are happy to be free.

You always have to think positive.

Adopted Turtle
Deep within a forest a little turtle began to climb a tree. After hours of effort he reached the top, jumped into the air waving his front legs and crashed to the ground. After recovering, he slowly climbed the tree again, jumped, and fell to the ground.

The turtle tried again and again while a couple of birds sitting on a branch watched his sad efforts. Finally, the female bird turned to her mate.

"Dear," she chirped, "I think it's time to tell him he's adopted."

Bear Advisory
The Forest Service has issued a BEAR WARNING in the national forests for this summer. They're urging everyone to protect themselves by wearing bells and carrying pepper spray.

Campers should be alert for signs of fresh bear activity, and they should be able to tell the difference between Black Bear dung and Grizzy Bear dung.

Black Bear dung is rather small and round. Sometimes you can see fruit seeds and/or squirrel fur in it.

Grizzly Bear dung has bells in it, and smells like pepper spray!

One Talented Hamster
A mangy-lookin' guy goes into a bar and orders a drink. The bartender says "No way. I don't think you can pay for it." The guy says "You're right. I don't have any money, but if I show you something you haven't seen before, will you give me a drink?" The bartender says "Only if what you show me ain't risque." "Deal!" says the guy, as he reaches into his coat pocket and pulls out a hamster. He puts the hamster on the bar and it runs to the end of the bar, down a barstool, across the room, up the piano, jumps on the key board and starts playing Gershwin songs. And the hamster is really good. The bartender says, "You're right. I've never seen anything like that before. That hamster is truly good on the piano." The guy downs the drink and asks the bartender for another. "Money or another miracle else no drink," says the bartender. The guy reaches into his coat again and pulls out a frog. He puts the frog on the bar, and the frog starts to sing. He has a marvelous voice and great pitch, a fine singer. A stranger from the other end of the bar runs over to the guy and offers him $300 for the frog. The guy says "It's a deal." He takes the three hundred and gives the frog to the stranger, who runs out of the bar with it. The bartender says to the guy, "Are you some kind of nut?! You sold a singing frog for $300? It must have been worth millions. You must be crazy!" "Not so," says the guy. "The hamster is also a ventriloquist!"

Have a good one.

Rain Drop Fans

There it is, finally done,Shawl number 2.
Its supposed to be a Fan shawl but I call it a raindrop fan shawl because it seems to me the rain drops are more vivid in it.
They are what appealed to me.
It also ended up being a tri colored shawl instead of a totally mauve one.
The pink part also had mauve running through it so it complemented the original mauve,

Here the rain drops can be seen clearer.

Perfect Love

They hang their heads in sorrow
Lamenting tulips
Not to see tomorrow.

The bright heads remain
To reign in this domain
Untouched by friend nor foe.

Lucky flowers,
Living for tomorrow.

A Lady's Life
----------------------------------
My neighbors young maple tree dried up because of all the people walking their dogs who let them pee on it.
They take leisurely walks up and down this street into the bog, with leashes long, not caring
that they are not alone. (God forbid you do this by their homes. lol)
As I have dogs in the house, every passing dog knows and gives out a sole bark just in front of the house.
It's a private joke I think, between dogs, meaning:
I'm taking a walk and pissing on your tree and you are still inside lol
So all heck breaks loose in my house as my dogs would love a piece of the action outside.
So unfair. lol

To give my tree a chance, I built a wooden box around it, filled it with soil and planted tulips , daffodils and
jasmine. All the tulip bulbs disappeared and the few flowers that did come out, the children would come and pick them to give their Mothers. lol
The Mothers were always upset thinking it would upset me but how can you be upset when a child picks flowers, he thinks are beautiful, to give his Mother?

I would stand and watch their little faces and saw nothing but pure love, as they took great care in choosing which flower they wanted to give her. :)

This is what a Mother lives for.
This is a Mothers' reward.:)

Today the boys have grown into young men and the daffodils that survived, seemed to spread a little after so many years of neglect.
I call them my brave little soldiers facing the elements of life and living.
A few Jasmine also survived.
I guess the squirrels don't like them either. lol

Life......Time.......Survival.......so poetic.

Paddy and Mick get a pilot to fly them to Canada to hunt moose.

They bag six.

As Paddy and Mick start loading the plane for the return trip, the pilot says, "The plane can only take four of those."

The two lads object strongly. "Last year we shot six, and the pilot let us put them all on board; he had the same plane as yours."

Reluctantly, the pilot gives in and all six are loaded.

However, even with full power, the little plane can't handle the load and down it goes and crashes in the middle of nowhere.

A few moments later, climbing out of the wreckage, Paddy asks Mick,

"Any idea where we are?"

"I think we're pretty close to where we crashed last year," says Mick.

======================

Paddy & Mick find three grenades, so they take them to a police station.

Mick: "What if one explodes before we get there?"

Paddy: "We'll lie and say we only found two"!

=====================

Paddy says to Mick, "Christmas is on a Friday this year"

Mick says "Let's hope it's not the 13th."

==================

Mick walks into Paddy's barn and catches him dancing naked in front of a tractor.

Mick says, "Oh no, Paddy, what ya doing?"

Paddy says, "Well me and Mary haven't been getting on in the bedroom lately & the therapist recommended I do something sexy to attract her....

The Irish have solved their own fuel problems.

They imported 50 million tons of sand from the Arabs and they're going to drill for their own oil.

Poo Poo'd Yet Still Hope in Old Fashion

I loved this artists work because of the vivid colors.
It also complimented the generous character of the River Rock Casino Resort.
Not only was the food good and coffee ample, but people could sit and enjoy reading a good book looking out at the
Marina just outside. In summer the doors would be opened out onto a terrace.

Les Reves d'une Chere Mademoiselle
La Belle Jeunesse
Paix Tranquilliter
La Vie En Rose.
:)

We have a problem with bullying these days and laws being passed giving some people who bully jail sentences, because of the way their actions affect the bullied people.

We teach kids things they are not supposed to know in elementary school.
Minds are immature at this stage in life.

We took away teaching what we should be teaching in terms of manners and etiquette, as these things are considered old fashioned and poo poo'd.

If such things were returned into schools and bad words and body language curtailed as normal ways of speaking and behaving, people would not be so loose with their behavior.

Laissez Faire Freedom - Liberalism - Is not for every one.

Bad manners lead to bad behavior because nothing is taken seriously.
Everything is a joke and then seen as hate crimes when people get hurt.

I personally find bad language very offensive but no one passed laws for me .
But then I didn't kill myself.
Some people come close to being killed for using bad language.
But they didn't pass laws for them either.
Instead people sue others for stealing their offensive music, claiming it is their
artistic expression.
They make millions forcing young people to listen to and applaud hate music.

I find the laws passed today have a lot to be desired.
They carry double standards.

I know adults also make kids do the bad behavior work the adults could be sued for .
Kids can't be sued so kids are exploited by adults.

These laws passed today are meaningless laws.
They reward bad behavior while
leaving doors open for the bullied to also bully.

I guess its better to let things go until more people die or are put in jail
rather than teach people to use manners and proper respectful language,
which then would promote good behavior between people. lol

And I now go back to etiquette, manners and the ten commandments lol

So simple but yet so difficult.
A poo poo'd old fashioned subject

In his French chateaus, Picasso catches a burglar stealing one of his paintings, but the thief manages to get away. The police arrive and ask for a description of the man, so Picasso proceeds to paint them a re-creation of the man's face. Later that day, the police bring in a mother superior, the minister of agriculture, a toilet and the Eiffel Tower for questioning.

---------------------------------

A master thief breaks into the Louvre and absconds with priceless paintings, only to find that his getaway van quickly runs out of gas and he is caught. When interrogated, he explains: "You see, the reason I stole the paintings in the first place is because I had no Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh!"
--------------------------------

Police were called to a day care where a three-year-old was . . .
resisting a rest.

Did you hear about the fellow whose whole left side was cut off? . . .
He's all right now.

A Lone Soldier

A Lone soldier, he stands
A survivor
Resurrected
Every spring.
His roots deeply embedded
Where they are never found.

A lone Soldier He survives
Living through
The thick and thin
He is here, a sign of promise
A sign, that we are not alone.

A Single Soldier
Yellow and green
A bright survivor
Brave and strong
Resurrected
Every Spring.

A Lady's Life.

I planted many bulbs through out the years but few survive the pesty squirrels.
They come and dig them all out.
A few flowers survived and they keep coming back year after year.
This one looked so lonely and brave out on the front lawn.
I had to take a picture of it.

Two bowling teams
One team all blondes
The other team all brunettes
Chartered a double decker buss for a trip to Ohio

The Brunette team took the bottom part of the bus
The Blondes took the upper part of the bus.

The Brunettes were having a heck of a time hootin and hollerin
Suddenly they noticed that the Blondes upstairs were very quiet... too quiet.

One of the brunettes went upstairs to find out why.
She found all the blondes sitting in fear, looking straight ahead of them, with white knuckles and bulging eyes.
The Brunette asked: Whats wrong?
We're having a great time downstairs.

One of the blondes swallowed hard and looked up at her
and then whispered

'YEAH SURE, YOU'VE GOT A DRIVER'

Life is Like That

I wonder ..... where is sleeping beauty?

lol

I had an idea of how to do my next shawl but then once it began to turn out I realized I had to continue with the same thread.
Since I am using left overs this was not to be if it was to turn out nice.
So I asked my son to take me to the store since I like company, and he of course said no.
His life is way too busy.
So I said fine, once you finish you can take me to the store and then get gas.
Since he needs gas, he finished up quickly and took me to the store. lol

I looked and looked but the thread disappears quickly or is not replaced as it was in the past.

I was not going to find the color I needed.
Always happens this way.

But I found a mixed color thread which would match wonderfully.
So I bought it and just now tried it out and am thrilled.
It compliments the light mauve perfectly and will make it nicer than I imagined it would turn out
if I continue doing it without mistakes.

I hope I'm right.

This one is a simpler fan stitch but the directions were not written well so I had a bit of trouble with the run on instructions.

It's a long rectangle and also very nice for evening wear.

I already can't wait to show the end product.

I love to learn new stitching and new crafts. So much I still want to do.

The weeks are just too short.

Hope you have enough to do to enjoy your day today.

I'm Enjoying a mug of green beer guarding my pot of Gold. :)

Like a Rock

One can't get over the power and magnificence of horses as seen in this statue.
The old masters had a good eye to display the meaning these loyal steeds had to men of war.

Loyal brave gallant honorable.
They gave up their lives for men, not so gallant, brave loyal and honorable.

Little twists life plays on both man and beast.
But to sit and look at it, is breath taking.

Frozen Crabs & the Blonde Stewardess

A lawyer boarded an airplane in New Orleans , with a box of frozen crabs, and asked a blonde stewardess to take care of them for him.

She took the box and promised to put it in the crew's refrigerator.

He advised her that he was holding her personally responsible for them staying frozen, mentioning in a very haughty manner that he was a lawyer, and proceeded to rant at her about what would happen if she let them thaw out.

Needless to say, she was annoyed by his behavior.

Shortly before landing in New York , she used the intercom to announce to the entire cabin, "Would the lawyer who gave me the crabs in New Orleans , please raise your hand?"

Not one hand went up ... so she took them home and ate them.

Two lessons here:

1. Lawyers aren't as smart as they think they are.

2. Blondes aren't as dumb as most folk think.

Lacy Shawl

I couldn't get anyone to model for me and my mannequin
is out of reach so I am displaying it over a cookie can . lol

This Lacy Shawl I began many times because every time I started it, following the pattern and directions always made it too small. So I had to adjust the pattern to suit my needs and so it became my pattern in a sense lol
I used Patons Lace thread which consists of 10% mohair, 10% wool and 80% acrylique.

It is very nice for evening wear as it keeps the back shoulders and front warm from drafts you may get in air conditioned restaurants and such.

It can be worn with a belt for extra eloquence.
I was debating on whether or not I should put some pearls into it but it looks pretty nice as is.

This project was shear joy to make even if it took more thread than a regular shawl would.

I can't wait for an occasion to wear it.

Fads Come and Go But Class Always Stays the Same

I always loved these cars. I agree with her.
Too bad the new cars are full of technology but have no class.

This lady is 101 years old and still changes the oil and spark plugs on her car.
Something to be said about being able to do this. Today the cars are so high tech, one needs a computer to figure them out. What happens if you break down in the middle of no where.
No way to get the thing running again.

She keeps her beauty very clean as can be seen by the towel she steps on to get inside.

In Tsawwassen on Sundays, some people bring their cars to the grocery store parking lot.
People have a chance to buy a car, RV, or boat from the owner, at a cheaper price.
Others bring in their classics to show off and for others to admire.
Sometimes even they are put up for sale.

The problem with old cars is the gas.
The engines use leaded gas.
I am not sure if unleaded works for them.

But nothing beats an old , well maintained car like this one, with white rimmed tires and chrome.
Now that's Class!!

Gotta Love Em. lol

A Blond Bombshall buys the new Automatic BMW X8 sport.
She drives the car perfectly well during the day, but at night the car just won’t move at all.
She tries driving the car at night for a week but still no luck.

She then furiously calls the BMW dealers and they send out a technician to her.
The technician asks “ Miss, are you sure you are using the right gears?”
Full of anger she replies “You fool, idiot man, how you could ask such a question, I'm not stupid!
I use 'D' for the Day and 'N' for the Night...”

Marc Driscoll

Marc Driscoll is the new Pastor on the hot line today.

I love Pierce Morgan but lately he's been attacking Christian values
Christians do not attack people.
Christians say what they believe in. That's all.

I loved what Marc said.
You either accept Christianity or leave it or change it.

The 10 c0mmandments can't be changed.
If you change a religion, it seizes to be.

I do not like the word bigot.
I think if you are called a bigot, for your beliefs you should take the accuser to court, because people have freedom of religion. Every one is allowed freedom of expression but Christianity is blasphemed and they are the least authoritative organization in the world, giving, expecting nothing in return except maybe....... a thank you.

Jesus died on the cross for.......... bigots.lol He also died for prostitutes, liars, thieves, killers, etc...
because he hoped one day they would understand what they were doing was wrong. In fact he believed they would because his Father would touch them.

If people believing in his word, are bad people, then why is this country so loved?and so HATED?
Why do people run from their own countries, ...... to come here?

It is time people stood up for the beliefs this country was built on.
Man needs to believe in something.

Oh, I know the American Indians have their beef with Christianity.
But false prophets, do not represent the words of the Lord.
False prophets will be found in any religion, inclusive of their own.

All we can do, is admit to the bad, which the last Catholic Pope did, and keep on going to promote good.
Education is the answer to recognize the bad to be strong enough, to say no to it.
If you know enough you can say..... no ...... to the bad, trying to infiltrate good.

I was never a strong believer in anything. I was touched by God at the age of nine and he was good to me. He loved me and protected me. I know he did. I loved him and quietly lived a personal life with him.
Today, for some reason, I have this urge to talk.
Am I a bigot?
I don't think so. I never carried anger or hate in my heart against anyone.
I understood people have their own experiences in life to base their beliefs on.

I always thought there was enough belief but the old people are dying and the new generation does not know God. The torch has passed on and it passed on to us. People like me, who have had it good and know it, and kept silent.

Today, if people like me don't talk, it jumps into something else, replacing God with Dracula lol

Something is wrong here.

I am an older person. If I see wrong, I know I would step in front of a bullet, to save a young person, without caring what he/she believed in.
I believe in a young person having the right to life, as I did.

A young person has the right to his time in the sun to learn, discover, love, hate, and understand God, who will touch him/her, as he did me.
We do not have a choice in the matter.

So I am here, to say in my blog.
I never followed the ten commandments, but I believe in them.

Today,in my older years, I can see beyond the words.
I can see the light. I understand that my Grand mother and parents saw the light before they died.
So I am telling people who want to listen.

If you don't want to listen...... do not hate me.
Do not allow hate to instill into your heart.

All I want is the best for you, no matter who you are or what you believe in
or don't believe in.
It is my belief,
God will touch you in his good time and then you will understand , as I did.
God does not fear evil.
Man fears evil.
Man has the most to lose, following evil.

So ...........

Without becoming a bore,
I wish this world the best there is to offer.
From the deepest part of my heart.
God bless you all. Love you all.

A Lady's Life.

Blue Tsawwassen Beach

We walked along the beach in the early evening.
The wind blew from the shore as the tide rolled in
It was cold and we had to tighten our coats around us
and dig our hands into our pockets.
We got to a nice big log on the beach and sat on it

My husband poured the coffee we brought in the cannister.
It was nice and hot and welcome
Every now and then someone walks by with their dog
The dogs have a great time here
They don't mind the cold nor the freezing water.
They chase balls and sea gulls and the sea gulls love to tease them.
What a great life living by the sea.
You never get tired watching the waves in the early morning sun and the late sunsets.
Neither of us spoke as we stood and just breathed
A moment of solitude
A moment of togetherness.
A moment to love

Hope you had a good one.:)

yes! yes! yes!!!

CAN YOU IMAGINE LIFE GOING FROM NO NO NO

TO

YES YES YES???

Watch life change for Jim Carrey as he says yes to everything.

I don't think I could do this.
I get myself into so much trouble.
This movie is equal to the one he made when he couldn't lie.
That one, I think I can do. lol
I get myself into a lot of trouble with that already lol

Maybe one day.

Delightful movie.

Have a good one.

Talent Born Every Day

You just finished playing the piano with your best companion helping you sing to the tunes you played.
You left the room to go shopping and now wonder what your companion must be doing while you are away.
This is how Talent is born Every day.
Enjoy!
:)

Angels of Life.

When I was a child I had a neighbor named Pat, a little girl I used to play with.
We were two angels but totally different.
She was always a Princess in her make believe world and I was always in some adventure, in a beautiful forest, surrounded by wild animals.
In real life I was always great with animals and I took great pleasure in analyzing
leaves, flowers and animal behavior. In some ways I tried emulating them thinking
geez, are they not little geniuses in how they survive without a Mom and Dad.
I think this is how man learned how to survive emulating the lives of animals.
Where ever I went I had an Angel sitting on my shoulder, guiding me, loving me and I was always safe.

Across the street lived another little girl with polio. She couldn't partake in many things as she lived upstairs and sat in a wheel chair, but sometimes her Dad would bring her down or we would go up for a visit to see her. We lived on a kind, loving street with very good families.

Then another family moved in with five children and we welcomed them but they came from a different world. The world of a down town city. They only knew how to speak with foul language. Every second word was a swear word.
It didn't work well for us and we told them that if you want to play with us, that language had to change.
Since they wanted to play with us, they tried very hard to change and within a month or so hardly ever a bad word came out of their mouth.
I often wonder what happened to my friends How they grew up, what their lives were like.
Mine whisked me away to different parts of the world where I learned so many things and came back a totally changed person.
I never saw so much sorrow pain suffering and poverty . I also saw genuine kindness in so many peoples eyes and hearts willing to share what little they had. It was another world.
Then coming home to get culture shocked by people who had much more to be thankful for, but full of cruel intent, manipulations, and unconscionable behavior.
It made me very sad.
Ayn Rand came to mind as she taught people different values and these values changed people into human beings who were just not nice to hang with.
They use bad language and insist everything is ok.
It's ok for them to free themselves while forcing others to have to sit and deal with their ignorance and callousness which forces more laws to be passed to stop them.
They become lonely walking shells, pretending to be human.

New kind of people who constantly whine and complain about everything and blame every one for their misfortune except themselves.
They are told not to do something and fall and hurt themselves and suddenly it's your fault.
They expect something for nothing and don't raise a finger to help themselves.

I look at kids today and they are so different from our generation which had chores to do and behaved well into their 20's. Parents were strict and never was a harsh word ever spoken against a parent let alone a hand raised. Today the papers are full of senior abuse.
Old people were a blessing to talk to and help as opposed to today when they fear anyone approaching them.

Kids were of stronger mind. We were all spanked. We had bullies and learned how to deal with them rather than complain and threaten to kill ourselves.
Today I listen to the news and think people have nothing to do.
If they found things to do to keep busy, their minds would not be suffering so.
Idleness begets suffering.

My Grand mothers words keep coming to mind as she always said
Keep your hands busy and so I do and creation brings me a lot of joy.

I plant a seed and it sprouts a leaf.Looking at it I become a child again, experiencing the adventure of a birth in nature. Small things.
I go back in history and do like the Indians did.
Instead of recycling boxes I put leftovers into pots and top them with a flower. The flower nourishes itself . From potato peels news potatoes emerge.
I think if every one threw their potato peels into the forests, so many potatoes would grow and feed the animals who otherwise have nothing to eat and come to man's garbage cans to feed.

I was a child and now I am grown and old but my heart is still the same.
I think man, if he lets himself, has a lot to offer nature.
Cemented cities could use more trees.Rain buckets could support fish life which would eat any mosquito larvae aiding in preventing diseases from mosquito bites.

Keeping your own grass clippings to keep your yard from eroding. Why can't people keep a goat or a sheep or bunnies to cut the grass? Small things.

Angels sit on all our shoulders and they are born every year to people as gifts from God
so man could relearn what life takes him away from.
Living around Angels is a blessing no one should be without.

Have a great day. :)

It's So Nice When Someone is There to Greet you at Home

Isn't this the truth lol.

Blessings!

Mothers' Cries.

A Mother screams out into the night sky
I will send my sons to fight for God
For God is the only thing worth fighting for.
I give them birth so they may serve
The one, The Only God on earth!

She sends one and then the other, the third and forth
To see them ne'er more.
Hungry, tired she becomes an outcast
All alone, to walk the earth.

She cries out to God
Why have you forsaken me?
I gave you everything!!!
Everything!!!

Instead she sees black death
Standing before her, surrounded by
Black crows, cawing into the night.

Death says to her
Mother
You sent your sons to me, not God.
They were not yours to give
For they were born to live.

God isn't vengeful.
He has no anger, no regrets,
No anguish, nor pain because
He truly lives.
His only quest is for the survival
Of his creative work.
He lives to see it live.

The rest he sends to me
In darkened graves.
Skeletons, to feed the dead,
Dead of spirit
Dead of soul
Dead of hate and
Dear of war.

And I am here to collect what's mine.
If you do not live for life
Then you must die.

You, who sent your flesh and blood to die
Was not the hand of God, but lies.
I am the truth here facing you
If you want your sons,
You come to me.

A Lady's Life.

Gulag of Freedom

Posted by Picasa

It was escape.
I found my freedom
Away from the gulag of life

No one can touch me here
For I have evolved inside my head
I am floating outside
Between the bars, over fences
and I am free.

The air is fresh and
I am nourished
No aches found in my body
No blinding light
No one to fear for love has overtaken my soul.
Truly I have escaped
I have found a new world.
I am alone in beauty and tranquility

I see a friend
I take her hand and we smile
at each other
and yet she tenderly pulls me left
but I want to go right
She tenderly but firmly smiles
with pearly teeth and golden hair

I try to wrench my hand from her grasp
You can't touch me here for I am free
Free from gulags,free from dialogue
Absolutely free.

Yes, you are free. Let me show you the way.
Let me show you, your new world.
She beckoned
And I followed.
She was my spirit guide and she showed me
What I craved to see.
She showed me what I wanted to see and
She whispered truths I wanted to hear.

I was engulfed by an aura of beauty and enchantment
I had never experienced before.
But the reverie was not to last
I was jerked into the real world
I was pushed and shoved and beaten
I tried not to open my eyes so as to hold on to my freedom
but pain sheared into my ribs
Blood poured into my eyes as they fluttered open unseeing
and a voice I recognized to be mine,
shreiked up into a thick, cemented wall.

Determined not to lose my concentration
I kept my freedom focused in my mind.
I was alive and free, in a new world.
I was...........finally.........free.
It's not an illusion.
I am...........

Awakening the Astral Truth.

People think just because they do not believe in religion, they are living without it.

Atheism is a religion. Communism is a religion.Cannibalism is a religion.
The spirit world, is a religion. Sylvia Browne talks about angels all the time as well as her spirit guides.
Shamanism is a religion.
Realism, Existentialism, Democracy, Capitalism ..... All religions.

People create their own worlds to live in, with their own gods, so to say one shed religion, is incorrect, because what you are in reality doing, is in itself a religion.

All is God.
This is why satan can't win because even he, is a part of the ONE.
You cannot shed religion, as a spiritual being, which all humans are.
Dust to dust. Ashes to ashes.

Religion is your belief in what you are doing and integrating into yourself.
Whatever people believe in, is a religion.

People knowing this, believe that this being the case, it makes no difference if they are bad or good. They use it as an excuse saying, no matter what I do, I will be forgiven because God is love.
It is a lot more fun and easier to be bad. Try doing good and see how hard that is.
You get eaten alive. Called all sorts of bad names. Nerds, bigots, squares.

Why listen to rules.
Liberate yourself. Be free. Do what you want. Everything is ok.

But my friend, everything is not ok because if it was ok, most of us would not have reached puberty.
There is evil in this world.
The only thing that helps to promote good .......is religion.
RELIGION is restriction.
The God given right,to say NO!.
So to choose which religion you want to believe in is very important because its not just one.lol

You teach your children the word NO!
God teaches man the word NO!.
If God can't teach man the word no then how can you teach your children?
If you don't teach them not to cross the street full of traffic, they will die.
If God can't teach man right from wrong, man will die.
Simple.

From my world, I have seen people who experimented with the spirit world, albeit not as far as
Shirley Maclean has. She is fascinating.
Some met up with a bad end meeting up with bad spirits and being counseled by bad spirit guides.
Religion teaches us therefore not to do this. Never look into the eyes of evil.
It corrupts you and takes you away from knowing true love.
True love is begot through innocence.
This is why we treasure innocence and why innocence should not be trampled upon in schools etc.. by pressure groups.

It is because we do not know the beyond, we cannot understand everything.
Knowledge is something we will never beget in our lifetime.
No matter how much we learn, we will still die ignorant fools.
To think otherwise is insanity.
In fact Nietzche, was one of the smartest people alive and he went insane
because of knowledge.

It is undeniable that there is good and bad, yin and yang and it has nothing to do with being a Buddhist or Muslim or Christian. It has nothing to do with race or color .

What we have in religion, are only guidelines, to help man understand what good is.
Those promoting war through religion, are false prophets.Pretenders.

Religion is not meant to be fanatical over.
It's not meant to become sick over.

If one believes like Lenin and Mao Tse Tung did, that religion is an opiate of the people,
dangerous enslavement, then what was their excuse killing so many people?

Communism is anti human rights. It's a new religion. Islam is anti human rights.

What was Stalins' excuse and Hitlers excuse? What was Hirohito's excuse?
What was Idi Amins' excuse for eating people?

We have young people, here in North America, who never heard of God, sitting on buses today and for no reason, get up and chop off the head of the person sitting next to them. Why?

Media/music/ movies/sex, today, can be seen as liberated religions.

Read the news and it's all negative, full of violence and hate and most of these people who do this, who disobey laws, are not religious people and neither are they good people.
But they are free people.

Music, using swear words , blaspheming Mothers and women is heavy for the soul to bear.
How are women to be respected if they are all seen as whores?
Married women are equated to prostitutes because they say you still spread your legs.
There is a difference between the reasons why a married woman spreads her legs and why a prostitute spreads her legs.lol
Women feel they are liberated because they have become desensitized by men who say:
Its nothing bitch. You live to give me a blow job.
How is this a loving relationship?

These are all new religions and so far away from the true meaning of love.

So the answers do not lie in the spirit world, as much as they lie in man's ability to understand right from wrong,
Good from bad and
that freedom and liberalism do not mean going against the establishment.

It is because establishment exists, order exists, and man is allowed to survive.

You cannot give freedom to people who have no sense of good judgement or the ability to think, rationalize.
You can't give people freedom if they have no self discipline or self control because they are wild cards running around doing things they shouldn't for fun or fanaticism or hate or because of all the suffering they endured , endangering themselves and others.
Once someone is hurt, they go to jail.

Once you meet up with a bad spirit, you end up dead or insane.

The universe itself, does not live in chaos. If it did, we would not be following the same path around the sun enabling man to be born, survive and enjoy a blue and green world.

The Universe and Life is not about chaos but about rules.
Touch fire, you burn.
Take drugs , you die.

It's very simple but people don't seem to understand so they go and put blame on religion and this gives them the excuse they need to reject rules and regulations required for society to live safely and united.

Religion is not the opiate of the people.

Selfishness is. Egoism is. Playing God is. Power is. Money is. Kiasu mentality is.

Religion is about humbleness, graciousness, respect and love.
Religious people never allow themselves to get angry or put themselves into an aggressive situation. Defensive... yes.

If people believed in the Ten Commandments,
they would be utterly free, alive and full of love because they encompass everything.

Have a good one.

Tatty

This Tat was a very lucky and tough pussy.
We went to the SPCA to find a kitten for my son.
I am slow looking at animals and I stopped at every dog cage but my husband and son rushed through into the cat section and left by the time I got there.
I looked at the nice cats they had there and was not happy they left so fast.
When I went up front, there they were buying one of two very ugly kittens someone just brought in a cage a second ago.
My son said
Daddy I want dat tat.
I was a little upset because there were such nice kittens in the back but no
they had to buy a black one and it had to be a mickey mouse. and not really a mickey mouse because the colors were not symmetrical.
We brought him home and the dogs raised him to think he was a german shepherd instead of a cat.
He wasn't afraid of anything.
He even put a Rotweiller to shame one day when he swatted him across the nose and the Rottie came to me for help lol
He was a great guard dog around the house, the main man.
Once he got into the roof of a neighors house and couldn;t get out >
It was Christmas and I didn't like the sign that I was missing my cat at this time of year. We went out and called him and called him. We heard a meow but could not determine the location it came from. We thought some one caught him in a cage somewhere.
He was gone almost two weeks.
I told my boys he'll be back for Christmas but it was almost Christmas Eve and he wasn't home.
For a woman who didn't like black cats I was distraught so my boys went out to look for him again. This time Alex my oldest came running home and said Mom we heard a hoarse meow from the neighbors roof.
OK we had a location.
We went to the neighbor and told him we thought our cat was inside his roof.
He said He heard meows but didn't know from where they came.
Apparently he got through an eve into the roof and the eve closed up and he couldn't get out.
We had to climb up there and my husband pulled him out.
He looked like he was half dead but soo happy to be out finally and in my arms.
We took him home and he drank a lot of milk and then quieted down a while
Slowly we began to feed him and the next week we hear a knock on the door .
It was the neighbor telling us our cat was in his roof again.
We had to again climb the roof and get our cat.
Something was taking him there all the time.
The area is full of little critters and this Tat was a hunter.
The term curiosity killed the cat really applied to him but satisfaction always brought him back because we always saved him.
But just to think how many beautiful kittens are put down every year and this ugly cat survived because of a little boy, is uncanny. He never saw the inside of the SPCA.
His twin probably didn't make it.
Tatty lived 18 years. He was happy very intelligent and free to live a normal cat life, doing what cats love to do the best.
I didn't like him because he had three colors in his eyes and when he looked at you, he had a very eerie gaze, as if to say: Don't sleep or I'll eat you. lol
but then as it turned out,I loved him very much without knowing it.

We got him back for Christmas just as I promised the kids we would.
Two weeks without food or water.
Darn cat! :)

Have a good one.

Save the Spirit Bear

Video with Kevin Bacon

www.savethespiritbear.org

I am following Sandy's cue to help save the spirit bears in British Columbia.

The above link has an email to send to the CEO of Enbridge Co asking him not to put a pipe line where so many animals are at risk of dying. The company has a history of oil spills.

The animals have no where else to go and they live here.
Bears whales salmon wolves etc....
Right now its beautiful and clean.

Without a place to live the animals come to man and we end up having to kill them.
This is wrong!!!!

Every one is welcome to send an email to help save this bear's land.
So far its mainly BC that was trying to save it but we need the world.
This is a place your children and their children will one day come to see and what a beautiful place it is to see. Lets leave it pristine, wild and free.
Thanks

Beware of Spiders.

I found this one funny.
Its about a barking spider.

At first I thought there was such a thing because they said it's the only spider that lifts its butt
and lets out some putrid smell before biting its victim
Well it resembles more of a skunk behavior than a spiders'
but all it is , is an urban legend about flatulence.

So next time don't say you farted.
Say:
Oh my Goodness!!
We're infested with barking spiders!!
and see them run lol

The doggie in the picture is a cutie pie.

Have a good one.:)

When Lightning Strikes

I had to look this up on snopes because every one and his Mother today wears some electrical device on his body and this being lightning/tornado season....

Snopes said Ipods do not draw lightning but lightning strikes where it wants to and they conduct electricity since they have metal in them.

People wearing devices would receive serious injuries in the event of lightning striking nearby.

July 2007 In the New England Journal of Medicine they had a case
of a 37 year old jogger in Vancouver, being thrown 8 feet, when lightning struck a nearby tree.
He got 2nd degree burns to his left leg and chest neck and sides of his face.
Both ear drums were ruptured as well as the small bones in his ear. His jaw was dislocated and broken in 4 places

I have always been fascinated by lightning and how some people say they were hit more than one time.
I now wonder if it was because they had metal on them or if they had more minerals in their blood stream than other people do.
Then I came across an article
http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/origin-of-life.html

It asked :
Where did life come from ?
and this is why creationists and evolutionists are coming closer together.

Water = consists of minerals and chemicals to support life but does not give life.

Oxygen would have destroyed life, decomposed it through natural process.

Ammonia, nitrogen, hydrogen water vapor and methane also don't produce life and adding electricity to it only allowed for the production of some amino acids, from which proteins could be made but no life.
Even making them by fluke is like 10 to the 67th chance to one.
Scientists for the most part concluded, proteins required to support life, couldn't have originated by fluke through evolution.
It would be like saying a tornado could go through a junk yard, resulting in a Boeing 747.

Evolutionist Fred Hoyle agreed life could not have originated by chance
DNA has no intelligence. It can't be reproduced artificially or naturally in 10 billion years.
Only DNA can reproduce itself.
So there had to be an intelligent designer, like a computer programmer, to do this.

Scientists tried to design life the way evolutionists believed it could happen and found
when lightning strikes, it doesn't unite all the chemicals, minerals DNA proteins etc...
in the way they should be, for life to happen.

Very interesting article.

So if there was a creator who designed man, it must have been in his interest to see how long his creation would survive or if it would kill itself and die.
It is also logical to assume he would give man messages and guidance and show him that
life has no beginning and no end and people go on self journeys to explore to find them.

For others he gave instructions like the 10 commandments much easier
to understand because they encompass everything and because they do it is over whelming for man to accept them.
Man likes to come to his own decisions through his own journey.
To me God says if you follow this path , through my words
evil cannot touch you and I personally, found his words to be true.
I have never had psychological suffering as I see in people today.
People hate the 10 Commandments.
They are restrictions.
But they are only restrictions, for those who do not understand them.
They are a work of a genius, who could take all the laws in the world
and put them into 10 sentences.

In the end it will be between each one of us and God and I am sure he will find both good and bad in us all, and we'll be judged according to his wisdom.

Have a good one.

Cocktails Anyone?

The Chinese love to have fun.
They love to design .

So why not make a ring look like what it's designed for?

So if you like a special kind of drink, the accessories you wear, can be a dead give away.lol

I be drinking tutti fruity and raspberry daiquiries. lol

Have a wonderful day!

River Rockin

Its right on the river facing a marina and it's growing every day.
A little bit of Vegas, found right here in Richmond BC.
People come spending 10's of thousands of dollars on one poker game. and if you don't want to play it's so interesting watching people lose money, it takes other people a whole year to earn.
Makes you think people are really crazy.

But it's a great place for kids. They have a pool , sauna , exercise room and you can roll up to it in your own boat. The view at night is very pretty and you can see the planes come in very close right above your head since the airport is right there.
The buffet is excellent. If you are staying there you get the best $14.00 complimentary breakfast inclusive of lox pancakes fried eggs potatoes coffee juice bacon fruit, yogurt toast bagels cinnamon rolls and the list goes on .
The rooms come at a variety of prices depending on what kind of room it is.
Richmond itself is a Chinese community and if you know anything about the Chinese people, they love good food and so you have a very wide variety of restaurants and food to suit your taste buds.
Yaohan is one grocery store store with a large cafeteria selling almost every type of food you like
for 6 dollars and portions are generous as well as delicious.
The two large malls are fun to visit and there is a sky train that comes right to door of the Casino, right from the airport if you so desire. It's so easy and convenient to go downtown for more spectacular events and restaurants.
They have a wide variety of entertainers booked to entertain you. I saw Sylvia Browne as one of them.
There is also a bus that comes there to take you to Seattle, USA if you have a destination to go there.

Many people go to Whistler for skiing and then the the River Rock Resort for the after party.

After eating there, we are sure to go back for seconds, that's for sure.
Whatever the event, birthday, marriage, anniversary, you are sure to sparkle booking a room to entertain in at the River Rock Resort.

Have a wonderful day.

Who We Are.

I feel the pen quivering in my hand
with ever word I write.
Words engage my mind into feelings
which keep me alive.
I sing and dance to awaken my inner self
I cry to cleanse my soul of toxicity,
to set it free to fly into the light
I laugh and scream so anger leaves me and
I care not who hears me
For life's a dream,
A play, we leave behind.

A day will come when we are forced to awaken
from the dream, into true reality.
A reality, void of all the troubles we create
Within ourselves, just to keep it in real mode.

We'll see ourselves floating in a bubble,
As spectators,
To expressions of trouble in the outside world.

Our world is peaceful, without pain and sorrow,
But our nature, our need, to innovate, is real.
We can't wait for the curtain to rise
To express our dreams and fold into them,
As pages in a book, to tell a story
Of how a pin, pricked our finger so it bled red.
Of how vile a feeling it was to eat of something
putrid, which turned our flesh into yellow rot.
Or of how it was, to regenerate, rebuild into something beautiful again
Someone could actually fall in love with.
Or how one could love someone so ugly on the outside and
yet see how precious and beautiful the person was inside
we couldn't live a day without.

Who are we?
Are we real or floating in a bubble, dreaming, acting,
Wishing for sorrow and joy to ebb and flow
into our true state of existence?
Do we ripple from beyond recognition
Amplifying our existence into space
beyond our reach hoping someone would create us
into living bodies and then take pictures to send us back
in waves to fly by our bubbles so we could see our work
as we wrote them
with the quivering pen in our hand.

A Lady's Life

Raging Lady

The blackness of the sky, whirling her frilly skirts,
Like a demon, slapping me down into the soaking ground,
Belting me with hail stones, was her way to work,
Into making a decision, a decision not so far away from
My own, to either fight for life or die.

She did not flatter me to believe it was in any way
Going to be my decision, but hers alone.
Her scorn was very real.
A raging, water dragon lady, she allowed me to kneel
Just to blow me down again and roll me through harsh terrain
Tormenting my body, as her own soul.

Like I, she was unable to decide if she should fight or relent into tears.
I was nothing to compete against and my problems
Did not adhere to hers, as they were only personal to me.

On the edge of madness,I looked up into the blood stained
Eye of the sky, and laughed, screaming up into her wrath:
Decide!! Decide!! Demon Woman of the sky!!
Take me out of hell and let me die!!
Decide, and set me free!!
I know that's what you would have of me!

To which she rumbled and struck out in a deafening,
Explosive manner, pushing the arrogance in my face, down
Again into the muddy waters, drowning me in my own sputter.

Weakened by the tremendous power of her hand
I struggled to lift my bruised and bloodied face,
To squint half way up between her and Mother Earth.
In my madness, I couldn't understand the hesitation
She had the power and the will and here I was,
A willing victim.

And then it dawned on me, in her own way,
I was meant to perceive by this exhibition, that
My will to live was stronger than my will to die
I fought, by lifting up my head and she relented and
Cried before she push it down again,
Into soft mud, from which it was easy for me to rise.

She was forgiving, enchanting, wise and in total control

I dared not look up into the dawning of a new phase of the sky,
As she lifted up her black skirts
To show me, that in the end, the day would be brighter than bright.
I felt the caress of her warmth upon my back bringing me back to life and
To the living world, fluttering around me.

Humbled by her power and knowledge I secretly thanked her
For understanding me better than I did myself.
I went home to the love I knew I'd find there,
In spite of myself, in spite of everything that would be thrown at me
By living.

I was a man, as we are all men.
I was entitled to Gods' Given time in the sun, gifted to me.
I was entitled to my mistakes, to my failures, as well as to my victories
Because this is how we learn and take the knowledge with us when we die.
Each comes in its own time and my raging Lady showed me
It doesn't have to be hell,
to survive and
Death, is never an accident.

A Lady's Life.
