Hand In A Hand

We all want to feel safe.

Safety is one of our key issues in life.
We spend a lot of time dedicating laws to safety.

We look to our leaders for safety and we also look to God.
We would like him to hold our hand in times of woe so we are not alone.
We trust him to keep us safe and warm and loved as children, look up into our eyes
for safety and direction.

As adults, we have some measure of power to see to it that children are safe
but children are children. It takes only one split second to make a fatal mistake.

As children ourselves, we too make mistakes and are prone to fatal flaws.

As we blame our selves and each other for not doing enough to protect our children, we also blame God for not protecting man from his fatal flaws.

We do not realize that in order to grow and learn, we must do things without knowing the end result.
We fought for this freedom to learn, so we could grow and obtain knowledge.
So when mistakes are made, who is it exactly that is to blame?

Is it the parent?
Is it society?
Is it God?

We are born into a new world eager to learn.
Our first steps end up with bumps and bruises but we learn.
And with each step we learn more.
We are taught safety skills so that we can even extend into unknown territories, knowing how to think, so as not to perish.
To ride a motorcycle, for example, requires one to learn how. If not , one may not know how to stop or change gears and end up flying off a cliff. ( I know cause I did it lol)

But what if this road to knowledge was stopped?
What if we were told we cannot learn any more?
Then, if we try to go into domains we know nothing about or how to learn about it,
our end could be inevitable.

My Mother used to say God protects them who protect themselves.
Don't go jumping off of cliffs unless you know how to fly.
So we experiment and learn how to fly in airplanes, on kites, with parachutes, and rockets. lol

So what you know, is important .
It relates to how you see yourself, which in turn relates to how you see others.

If you see yourself as a good person, you see good in others.
If you see yourself trustworthy, honest, hard working, reliable, you see this in others.

It is all a question of perspective in life.

If you do not see these values in yourself, you will not see it in others.

If you do not see it in others, you alienate yourself from holding the hand,
which could make a difference in your life.

Have a great day.

just onions.

As we walk through life, we are surrounded by people.
We believe all these people to be like ourselves.
and yet.........
upon closer examination, we see that we may be the same on the outside,
but on the inside, we really do not know or understand each other.

We can blame culture, religion, language and experience, education, genetics.
etc.... there are a lot of places where blame can be laid, as to why this is.
But life is about learning.
Every day is meant to learn something new, so you grow as a person.

I remember my first boy.
I sat with him every day doing homework to make sure he learned and I thought he was brilliant. He knew his American history better than most kids his age did.
He read well, he could write well, he could spell,he used to love making cartoons with his own stories in them. I thought he was a great kid but at school he did not show his teachers, what I saw at home. No one could figure it out.

Well after he graduated elementary school I asked him why he always writes about dogs. All 7 years, all he did at school was write about dogs where as at home, he wrote about many things in his play journals.
He told me he wrote about dogs because he did not want to lie.We had dogs and what he wrote about them was the truth. In other words he felt safe writing about dogs. lol
(I always taught him not to lie.)
So for 7 years he thought writing stories at school, which could be make believe, would be telling his teacher a lie and he did not want her to find out and think he was a liar.lol

Another thing. He read very well, so one day I asked him do you understand what you are reading?
He answered........you told me to read. I didn't know I had to understand what I was reading too lol
(shock ...shock...shock) Finally I understood the problem. The school pushed speed reading, so the children grew up not liking books or reading.
So again I had to explain to him well son, don't listen to the teachers. Books are meant to be read slow and enjoyed and understood because the author who wrote the book, did it slowly as well because he had a story to tell.He wants his book enjoyed read and reread.

Now I wonder, how many school councillors would have been able to find out these truths from a child, but they write many things in their little files. He told them he had problems remembering which sent them into a tizzy which was nothing closer to the truth. I had to laugh when they told me my son had problems remembering. I told them you do not demand the best out of kids so you don't get it. If a kid writes sloppy you tell them it's ok. My teachers never did and we all had neat notebooks we could read. We took pride in our work as opposed to today when kids take things for granted and use machines instead of developing their own personal skills.

My second son, born much later, was lucky because he had a school with old teachers who developed a love of books in children. So he enjoyed his books. We sat and read hundreds of them and he was engrossed in them because they opened a world for him.

So I felt my first son was robbed by a system who used kids to be experimented on.
Speed reading doesn't promote anything good.

Now these experiences related to children but then we come to adults.

I was talking to one Dad once.
He was a huge muscular good lookin dude.
We were discussing kids and he told me a story about when he was growing up.

He said My Dad told us kids not to smoke.
So we never smoked in front of him.
This was respect.

My reply to him was no, this was not respect.
His eyebrows lifted.

I told him respect, is when your Dad tells you not to smoke, you don't smoke.

What you did, was disrespect your Dad, by lying to him and doing things behind his back.

As I said this to him I saw something like a veil lift from his eyes and for the first time in his life, it's like he understood something.
I don't think he ever had anyone say anything like this to him before.

We talked about many things that day and I saw he enjoyed all of it.
He shook my hand and thanked me and said I was a very nice person.

Through out life, I met many strangers who I had quality converstations with and they would always say, you know, you are special. Not many would sit down like this with a stranger and talk this way.

I always found this strange because I saw myself as a normal person doing normal things. I did find out however that there are a lot of lonely, lost people out there but to look at them, you would never know.

I found out that people have goodness in them but it takes a special person to walk into their lives to bring it out through a learning experience.

When a person understands something, a light can definitely be seen behind their eyes and you know, understand, that you got through to this person. He will never be the same again as a result.

So I put a picture above of two different onions.
We are all like these onions and so is life.

Life and people may be the same but also very different.
It takes time, patience, understanding and love to be able to sit down and be open enough to hear, listen and learn.

As I grew older and the stresses in my own life became harder to bear, taking care of family and my own parkinson/alzheimer Mom, I didn't have the time I needed to pay attention to people and things I did before, which made me that special person.

My job was about serving my family the best way I knew how and it left little time for me, reflection, and relationships.lol
I barely had sleep time and life can run you ragged.
I was lucky to have a supportive family who suffered along side me.
They also stuck by me and hopefully learned some good things.
But life always changes. It's always the same but it's always different because its all about learning and growing.

Life often gives you pitfalls to fall into, especially these days lol but I always say, don't complain, because
people had it rougher.

My parents had it rougher.
My grand parents had it rougher and so many people in the world today, have it much rougher.

We do the best we can, with what we have presented to us in and by life.

But when push comes to shove, the worlds' salvation, lies in understanding
because it puts us all on the same page.
When push comes to shove, we are all just onions lol

Have a great day!

pondering give and take

give and take
ebb and flow
yin and yang

All societies have come to understand the meaning of these words without religion or politics.
Maybe this is also why we can understand why God did as well when he gave us a most perfect world he created. Man was given the breath and a gift of life and a world to live in.

Man accepted the gifts and began to make live sacrifices in gratitude for the kindness shown for breaking rules of Eden and maybe this is how religion began.

What was to have been a generous loving gift was distorted and turned into more demands, cries for help
and fists being shown the creator who is blamed for all the woes.
Woes, which man is responsible for creating resulting from free will, individualism and knowledge.

People forget the above words.
God gave but nothing lasts for ever.
In the end all goes back to the creator.
If we believe in Jesus, as the son of God, then we know he was sent to show man the way, to educate him in the light, just in case the 10 commandments were not enough.
God did not require live sacrifices. His gift was life, to live, not to die.

He takes it back all in its' own time and man along with it but now hopefully a more experienced spirit, who might understand better, the laws of heaven.

To survive, man had to learn to sacrifice for others. Families work for each other to help bear the load. Friends help when in dire straights and then societies and nations, all work for the better good.
This was how it was intended.
Man had to learn, that he cannot live by bread alone and if he wanted knowledge and individualism, then woe goes along with it.
Everything depends on everything else.
Destroy the balance...........and everything destroys along with it.

Truth is cold and harsh.
It hits us like a flash of lightning or a falling icicle smashing its' tip into our head from above .
It's a very uncomfortable profound feeling .
We look to lay blame for our pain, on someone else. lol
even if the pain was meant for us for spiritual growth and understanding in the meaning of true love .
Without feelings, man becomes a zombie , a machine.

In todays world, man accumulates. He takes from other people not because he has a right but because he can. He does not wait for it to be offered but walks in and arrogantly takes.....
money, homes, families and lives. He creates unjust systems to use to legally help himself with a pen what was not worked for physically.

So many homes stand empty while man suffers living in the streets.
So much food thrown into the ocean, while hungry hands reach out into emptyness.
So much suffering result, as good intentions are stolen, not to reach the hungry, to be sold by the more powerful, the pretenders, for money, so they may live and then pray to the Father, to thank him for his blessing.

Then man wonders........how is it right for someone more powerful , to come and take from him?
He riots, he fights and steals, sells drugs and becomes the bad guy.

He looks for someone to blame and wars begin. Evil takes over to try to establish what in their minds is good because they survive.
One fella installed a sun room for me and charged me 17 k for the job which he said would take two weeks not 180 days as he wrote in teeeeeeeny pale blue at the bottom of the contract, and a promised me wood looking aluminum finish they put along the sides of the inside walls.
Instead, they put in wooden shakes which had water climb them first rainfall and made it lool awful.I took him to court and he lied to the judge and won the case.
Later I told him he lied to the judge and he said so what, my family had food on the table.
He didn't care that my family was robbed and would not have food on the table. The judge didn't care even when he saw that this contract wth teeny pale blue lettering no one could read, is made up to do nothing but cheat a customer. The salesman disappeared. Terasen does this too.
Have a complaint? ????? lol no one there wants to know. Just pay them.

None of this is good because it is all about taking. This mans' family and the Terasen CEO's probably go to church and thank God for the blessing. lol

As long as there are wars, it means man is not learning.
Its not about an eye for an eye.
It's not about arrogance and a fist.
If it was, then God would have smitten all of mankind for the act of killing his son.
Of course he resurrected him to show man proof of life after death.
He will open heavens doors to the suffering and those in power, will be sent back to relearn they cannot makes decisions for God.
He is the one Father and it is all in his hands and will.
For man
it's about living in the light, educating yourself and accepting what it entails to actually live.
It's about loving your fellow man by giving and sharing and letting live.

We blame others for famine while 60% of north American children live on less than food stamps
while millions are spent on worthless placards to win elections which are then thrown away.
Millions are spent on guns to kill and take rather than give.

Man is growing but he is not learning.
If culling of people is the plan then expect to be culled because the yin an yang affects everyone.

Might be God might close heavens doors and send those who do not learn, back to relive his gift of life and sorrow till learning does take place.
If the scriptures are correct, then he will give man three life times to learn. lol
and if time is nonexistent, this can become an eternity of either suffering
or living in heaven by the laws of true life, Adam and Eve were given.

Adam and Eve had only one rule in heaven.

So simple it was.
lol

Have a great day.

While driving in Pennsylvania , a family caught up to an Amish carriage. The owner of the carriage obviously had a sense of humor, because attached to the back of the carriage was a hand printed sign... "Energy efficient vehicle: Runs on oats and grass. Caution: Do not step in exhaust."

Did you hear about the two blondes who froze to death in a drive-in movie? They had gone to see 'Closed for the Winter.'

What Women Want

I remember the Beaver Cleaver days when it was easy to please a woman.
Buy her perfume, a gorgeous neglige for a special occasion, make up, nice shoes or slippers a pair of evening gloves, a nice hat, broaches earrings and necklaces.....
No matter how poor girls were they always managed to look like a million bucks because of the way they presented themselves.
My Mom would always look good for my Dad when he would come home from work and it always made him happy.
Todays woman is different. She is a lot more out going relaxed and wears clothes to please herself. Going to church today does not require elegance. You get away with
pant suits, comfortable low healed shoes or athletic wear. The hair sports easy to manage cuts and hats are mostly knitted .
Todays' woman is comfortable wearing baseball caps and has no real need for make up or even fancy jewelry which tattoos and piercings have replaced. Hair is never gray and thanks to technology, teeth stay pearly white.

So what do women want?

Well .......every woman sometimes needs a treat to be the beautiful girl she was born to be so nothing is passe today. This is what makes todays' woman exciting and even mysterious because she can be many people in one.

She can be a lady one day, a sportswoman another, a role model the third, jack of all trades , dancer, or even a good time girl and be the better for it.

Growing up under my Mom's straight lace influence,I remember her telling me, when you go to university, you will see the light and doors opening up for you.
So I went in with eyes wide open and sure enough she was right.

I remember going to listen to a gay lecture, thinking it was a gathering about people learning how
to make life fun. My friend and I both left laughing when we found out how dumb we were.We entering with our little brown bag sandwiches and left early trying to wear those bags over our heads .lol
We saw so many gay people that day who were so different from the nice people we knew personally, that it was kinda intimidating to find out they were all not so nice.We saw and heard a lot of ugliness in that hour.

I remember reading the women libber books and they were very mind expanding.
They spoke of bra burning and told every young lady that just because she was religious and
straight laced, she was nevertheless a whore just like any street woman. After reading these books, street women could not be judged anymore. They were free, liberated.
They put every woman on the same road going in the same direction, but it made judging every good girl a right in itself.

The significance of this info forced every girl to sit down and question herself and and who she was.
"Am I a whore?" "Rubbish! There certainly is a difference."

They told everyone that sex was a natural need and every one normal needed to have it.
Were they saying if you were not sex crazed and practiced self control, you were not normal?
Yes, they did.

Those books were so liberating that they destroyed the beautiful image of being a wife and Mother and always loving kids, I found the liberation as well as the disrespect both inviting and confusing.
It was not only men who were being bashed and led to confusion with respect to women but also the women bashed with respect to men, in those days.

Liberation cost every woman plenty because it did put all of us on the same plane.
I liked the equality with respect to jobs and equal pay for equal work, but the rest of it was questionable.

Women could never be men. Taking Shotokan Karate proved this to me as I saw fists coming closer to my face, faster and with more power than I could ever muster.lol It got me to brown belt but afterwards my face and teeth became more important to me lol

And although women think faster and ahead because of this,it made them seem smarter. But once you marry and the role changes into being a Mother which takes up most of your time, men are needed to carry on for what now becomes a loving family with precious chicks to keep you on the right track.

Todays' world changed again and society is forcing people into a two income, survival mode and even then it can be difficult.
The result we see today in lack of jobs, housing, money leaving the country, disrespect between men and women, women with no
Mother instincts, destruction of traditional families because the spiritual needs people need in marriages has left and children suffering from ADD etc.... because they are not allowed to grow and explore naturally but forced to fight into a world they do not understand and pressured to accept it as someone else perceives it.
If you never had something, as they say, you never miss it but should not this be your decision to make and not instructed into you before you have a chance to learn about what made this world what it is today?Today they replaced one form of force with another and changed norms
from one kind of torture to another.
Where does psychological torture to survive fit in, in todays world, as families are being economically bashed ?

All the missing links children are being raised with today, will affect life and living in the future.
Education is different from instruction.

So I sigh because looking back, my eyes had been opened as my parents said they would be but I loved living in the innocent world I lost because of it and am grateful they gave me a time to know innocence enough to want it for my children. Isn't this what love means?

Life never allows man to be the creature he was meant to be.
Either wars destroy people and their spirits or politics and life in general.
I guess women libers were right in one thing.
We are all put on the same plate no matter who we are or where.
People are not perfect. We all make mistakes and live in our own hell.
Inspite of all of this, we all like to be recognized as humans trying to be better, trying to do the right thing, in spite of everything.

So what do women want?
Looking back, I think we are no different from any other human.
We all want peace, food, shelter and most of all, love.

Blessed are those who can experience the blush of a pink rose, and be able to pass it forward to future generations.

Have a great day!

Virtues of Sin

I read Dantes Inferno, a poem, Divine Comedy, written in the early 1300s, by Dante Alighieri
It was written with the idea of separating the church and state.
Allegorically, the Divine Comedy represents the
journey of the soul towards God, with the Inferno describing the recognition and rejection of sin.
Dante , guided by Virgil, went through and battled
9 circles of sin.
1) Limbo 2) lust 3) gluttony 4) Avarice 5) Wrath 6) Heresy
7) Violence 8) Fraud 9) Betrayal.

Limbo was a funny one because it contained people who were neither good nor bad.
They included the unbaptized and virtuous pagans. Socrates, Pontius Pilate,
Horace, Homer, Julius Caesar, Pope Celestine 5th
It is purgatory where most people will fall into, with a good chance to repent and be allowed into heaven.
Seems no one will escape going to hell according to this poem, because man is guilty of most all these sins.
The very act of being man makes him guilty at one point or another.

I guess Sin came into existence when mankind began to have a conscience
and a social network for survival.
Up until then, men were probably predators like lions who did what they needed to do to survive
and nothing they did was considered bad. There was no one to judge them.
You cannot judge a lion for killing, knowing this is in his nature and what he was born for and meant to do.
Being around other people required a social responsibility of maintaining order, which required laws and
differences between right and wrong.

Today people live more in shades of gray making differences in right and wrong less prevalent and therefore people seeming less guilty.
However, history has shown us that corrupting differentiation between right and wrong opens doors to lawlessness which in turn
makes all acts lawful by virtue of association.
Giving man a carte blanche, to behave freely, will make it difficult to stop crime, since now it will not be viewed as crime because people will
have no guilt doing them and every case presented before a judge will be dismissed as a result.

For example, the black and white of the crime of killing is, Either you kill or you don’t.
Turning black and white with respect to killing into areas of gray, means you have the right to kill.

If you follow this argument with abortion, it means you have rights to abort.

If you do this with legal papers giving rights to destroy people financially, means you have a right to destroy people.

As the gray area deflects more and more from the original black and white elements of law, people will be less and less protected,
And therefore less and less inclined to believe and work inside the system of law because it becomes just a bunch of meaningless words.

We have highly misguided books explaining how to survive living in a world of chaos. Theoretically it can work but realistically it can’t because it means everything you do,
will not work for you. You can’t trust your bank to keep your money, You can’t trust the mailman to deliver your parcels.
You can’t trust your company to pay your salary. You can’t trust your payments of bills to be received. You can’t trust the computer to receive proper intel about you.
You can’t trust the babysitter to watch your children, or the teacher to teach, or the mechanic to fix your car. etc….
You can’t trust anyone to do anything.
Conscious people with no conscience cannot be held accountable because we view them as insane
and if every one is insane then insanity becomes the norm we live in and accept.
Such is the Virtue of Sin.

Eugene Delacroix
"What makes men of genius, or rather, what they make, is not new ideas, it is that idea - possessing them - that what has been said has still not been said enough."

==========================================================================================================================================================

In a city park stood two statues, one female and the other male. These two statues faced each other for many years. Early one morning, an angel appeared before the statues and said, &quotSince the two of you have been exemplary statues and have brought enjoyment to many people, I am giving you your greatest wish. I hereby give you the gift of life. You have 30 minutes to do whatever you desire."
And so the statues came to life. They smiled at each other, ran toward some nearby woods and dove behind some bushes. The angel smiled to himself as he listened to the two giggling, bushes rustling, andtwigs snapping. After 15 minutes, the two statues emerged from the bushes, satisfied and smiling.
Puzzled, the angel looked at his watch and said to the statues, &quotYou still have 15 minutes. Would you like to continue?" The male statue looked at the female and asked, &quotDo you want to do it again?" Smiling, the female statue said, &quotSure, but this time YOU hold the pigeon and I'LL shit on its head."

Believe

What should we believe in
if there is nothing to believe?
I asked the wisest man I knew
My Grandpa Steve
He'd like to sit and ponder
The where for's and the why's
And with these simple words
He made me understand.

Believe in HAPPINESS, so it can find you
Believe in LOVE, so the sun shines
Believe in the FUTURE, for that's where you're headed
Believe in EDUCATION, so you can survive

and the last and most important thing of all he said was

Believe in YOURSELF, because the greatest strength,
is what you find inside.

Now I sit by this river and I watch it flow
And I keep asking myself, where does it go?
And as I sit here, I ponder the where for's and why's
I wish I could still ask the most wisest of guys.

Being Tupac Educated.

Last night my son and I had quality time together.
We passed the football and I found I still had it. lol
During this time we again got onto the subject of rap.
My son admires Tupac.
He got me a link and we sat down and listened to his interview with a reporter when he was 17 years old.

I was impressed. I told my son, Tupac's views were no different than my own.
Then my son showed me a written version of the young man's rap.
It was clean, no swearing, no abuse of women.
He basically just really tried to get kids to do the right thing.

It became confusing.

I told my son something is missing. There must be more to this story. He must be involved in either drugs, guns or gangs. My son said no but then, I found out the boy's Mom was a Black Panther.
Then it all clicked together.
Going back in time, this was a time when the USA was involved in a Cold War with the USSR and Cuba.
Talking to a communist, let alone being one, was enough to put you in jail.
The US had serious problems.
The Black Panthers was a serious group to contend with, fighting for black rights and communism.
Malcolm X was a communist revolutionary.
His Mom was raped by a white man and he hated white people so he changed his last name by putting an X behind Malcolm.
Malcolm X and the Black Panthers were involved with each other.
Malcolm X was working towards breaking up the US into two countries, black and white.

Anyway. Tupac said his Mom could not get a good job because of her Black Panther background. It haunted her wherever she went, so they had to live in poor rough areas and he didn't like it.
It seems his Mom groomed him very well because he was a well spoken young man.

In California he reformed the Black Panther's. I think this was where he went wrong.
No one wants the rehashing of this period in time. You need to work inside the system, like Obama, not outside. The Lenin ideology did not work.

I told my son, first it takes half your life to study and learn before you find a voice to have an opinion worth airing.
Second, you can be an entertainer or politician or a revolutionary.
Third -The first two ....ahhh .....people may or may not like uniting but a revolutionary .......is a whole new ball game.
Revolutionaries usually stay clear of the public.
They are more like Bin Laden, hidden, hated and hunted.
My son admitted to Tupoc being a revolutionary. I asked him how having views people all agree on, made him a revolutionary?
Well now we get back into the Black Panthers.
My son said this group was not a big part of his life, he was a kid.
I told him that may be so, but his Mother was and no one knows how deep he was involved.
Obviously enough to step on a few toes.
My son said his death was a random drive by shooting but I have to question this.

We left the conversation with me saying it was too bad Tupac ended up the way he did.
He could have made his money and done something good with it, not just for black people but white people as well and why not even for the world?
He had what it took had he not got involved in something which had nothing to do with him or his life.
The Black Panthers was his Mother's time and since then, a lot of things have changed.
People are tired of fighting. Every one wants peace.

You learn from the past.

You don't repeat it.

Rumplestiltskin

JDS has inspired me to write this Blog today.
He is my only faithful anonymous blogger I can't visit.
Wat's up wid dat? lol

As I read his usual positive comment, Rumplestiltskin popped into my head.lol
Rumpelstiltskin is a story from Grimms Fairy Tales which was written around the
1800's.
In England they had a similar tale but with Tom Tit Tot.
Now why would this little mischievous goblin or imp or spirit, who could spin straw into gold, force a girl to give up her first born child?
Why would he help her to become a Queen?
Why would he refuse money?
It sounds somewhat like a Celine Dion story.
She wanted to sing and her now husband RRRenee, asked her, do you want to sing or to become a great Diva singer?
So she let him manage her and see where she is today. On top of the world.

I guess this story teaches many things.

1)It's important to fight for what is important to you.
2)Don't gamble because it could cost you plenty.
3)Don't make promises you can't keep.
4)How the sins of the Father affects the family and how a family's support can get you out of hot water.
5) The devil can be beat at his own game, which inspires hope :)
6)You need to be able to pull your weight in a family.
7) Watch your children and belongings so they don't get snatched from you.
8)Abuse of women's rights.
9)How the powerful control the less fortunate.
10) Don't brag
11) Beware of strangers bearing gifts

Rumplelstiltskin video

Wow! Never thought of it this way when I was reading it as a kid.

I just saw another world opening through this curious little man, who left me with so many questions, it would take years to find answers to.

Nice job JDS :) There, you got some nice comments as well. :)

The sun is shining, my son is in San Jose for soccer so he will not be here for Mother's Day and Santa Barbara is on Fire.
Every day we get a taste of the good the bad and the ugly.

Take care every one :) Enjoy the sunshine!!
