Foreign Accent Syndrome???

Travelling around, one often asks you where are you from because you have, what sounds to them, a foreign accent.

Crossing the US border is very difficult, if you get a guard who pays attention to how you talk with them, especially if he himself is Korean, East Indian or French etc... heritage
and has an accent himself. lol
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
Are we not a multicultural continent?

You answer:
Say wha??
Watcha talkin about bro. Wa's up wid yo accent?
Wa u from, bra?

Seems people brought up, when diction was important, is passe.

So long Shakespeare,

So long RrrAIN IN SsPAIN, IS MmAINLY IN THE PpLAIN.

Sometimes I think people are just a bunch of monkeys in a cage, bred to analyze each other for lack of better things to do.

No one checked me for fleas yet lol
but I understand security does this when boarding airplanes lol

Thanks to the internet, I now know what to tell the border guards and other nosy people who think the way they speak is without an accent.

I GOT the FOREIGN ACCENT SYNDROME DISEASE. lol

One other border story is funny or sad ... depending on whether or not your cup is half full or half empty.

I remember trying to enter through the US border once and they pulled me over for
a random check. Now my van is always packed because of kids, soccer and living in an earthquake zone, I try,( to the chagrin of my son, who calls it lame to do this until God forbid one day we need stuff in an emergency,) to make sure I have survival items in it including tent, chairs, blankets, tarps, rope,
warm jackets, sweaters, pants and socks.
So every time I cross the border, is a pain in the ass.

Asking the kids and husband to unload your car after grocery shopping, is also like pulling teeth cause they always leave something behind and unless it's toilet paper, which they need to wipe their asses with, they will never go back to check for the items if you tell them you are missing something. And even then.......they have to really need it. lol
(Check the car son.lol) (ok I am not being very fair cause lately both hubby and son have been good lol.)

Nevertheless, I check my car over to make sure, one more time, I have no fruit or vegetables.
This time I also checked and wouldn't you know, that guard dug and dug and found a bag of rotten kiwis.
They must have been there for months.

He walked into the building proudly parading them, high above his head, for everyone to see, like a cock who just secured his hen house.lol

If I ever rolled my eyes in my head, I could feel them rolling out of my skull that day.

The only thing that saved me from a 500 dollar fine and/or worse, is that the kiwi bag had Made in USA
written on it. The guy obviously saw I forgot about them, them being so rotten but the law is the law right?

So I learned something that day. Make sure you put your apples kiwis and vegetables in a made in the USA bags and you should be fine. lol

I guess the same would apply to Canada for US citizens???? I am not sure.

I like to keep my car empty to make for a clean in/ out experience but sometimes you screw up.

Kudoos to the guard who let me go that day.:)

but you never know from one experience to another what will happen at the border.
Once they asked me if I had drugs.
Their eye brows raised when, without batting an eye, I said yes. lol

I continued .......I have aspirin ibuprophen tylenol.....

Oh.... now they seemed depressed because it's not what they thought. lol But if I said no and they checked and found them, they could accuse me of not telling the truth.

Another time they asked me if I have knives.
Sure.......doesn't everyone? Scissors too. You need stuff like this. I'm a M.O.M.
It's my personal car used for personal uses.
Why should I keep buying stuff when I have them already?

Or should I say sorry. The A.L.I.E.N. made me do it. lol

Once Canada asked if I had a gun.
GUN??? Are they for real?
A Canadian? A country of Peace? A Mom with a kid in the car?
I felt myself shudder to that question. It rendered me speechless.

NO!
I have Foreign Accent Syndrome Disease.
Isn't that enough ?

But.......don't worry.......you got it too. lol

Have a great day!

Hand In A Hand

We all want to feel safe.

Safety is one of our key issues in life.
We spend a lot of time dedicating laws to safety.

We look to our leaders for safety and we also look to God.
We would like him to hold our hand in times of woe so we are not alone.
We trust him to keep us safe and warm and loved as children, look up into our eyes
for safety and direction.

As adults, we have some measure of power to see to it that children are safe
but children are children. It takes only one split second to make a fatal mistake.

As children ourselves, we too make mistakes and are prone to fatal flaws.

As we blame our selves and each other for not doing enough to protect our children, we also blame God for not protecting man from his fatal flaws.

We do not realize that in order to grow and learn, we must do things without knowing the end result.
We fought for this freedom to learn, so we could grow and obtain knowledge.
So when mistakes are made, who is it exactly that is to blame?

Is it the parent?
Is it society?
Is it God?

We are born into a new world eager to learn.
Our first steps end up with bumps and bruises but we learn.
And with each step we learn more.
We are taught safety skills so that we can even extend into unknown territories, knowing how to think, so as not to perish.
To ride a motorcycle, for example, requires one to learn how. If not , one may not know how to stop or change gears and end up flying off a cliff. ( I know cause I did it lol)

But what if this road to knowledge was stopped?
What if we were told we cannot learn any more?
Then, if we try to go into domains we know nothing about or how to learn about it,
our end could be inevitable.

My Mother used to say God protects them who protect themselves.
Don't go jumping off of cliffs unless you know how to fly.
So we experiment and learn how to fly in airplanes, on kites, with parachutes, and rockets. lol

So what you know, is important .
It relates to how you see yourself, which in turn relates to how you see others.

If you see yourself as a good person, you see good in others.
If you see yourself trustworthy, honest, hard working, reliable, you see this in others.

It is all a question of perspective in life.

If you do not see these values in yourself, you will not see it in others.

If you do not see it in others, you alienate yourself from holding the hand,
which could make a difference in your life.

Have a great day.

Petals So Delicate

While the world is in turmoil, my flower blooms
With petals so delicate as to make angels swoon
Transparent, a soft light envelopes them
and allows us to wonder, while under its' spell.
A beautiful flower blooms in the dawn
While the world continues to plunder
Under a wailers' song.
A Lady's Life.

My poor flowers keep blooming year after year all on their own.
and surprise me every time.
I try to buy the wild varieties since they require the least amount of care.
Some gardner I am lol

Today William and Kate are arriving, in a Canadian airplane, used to jet the Prime Minister.
With England waging protests over pensions and having to work an extra year to get them,
I guess England cannot afford their own plane to fly Royalty anymore. lol
Gorgeous William is being protected as he is Englands' prized English Rose, inheriting his Moms' foot steps. His beautiful wife Kate, helps as well. She is HOT!
The rest of the world is haggling over the cost of living and bankruptcy while the rich are still helping people spend.
So apart from all the mumbo jumbo people are being fed,
Where is all the money?
As one greek man said, spending has to be stopped.
Thank fully Kate an Wills 9 day trip will not cost very much but make a lot of people happy.

Have a great day! ;)

Fly Baby Fly

Canada is being treated so badly by the Emirates and rightly so because they know most Canadians cannot afford their 10,000 dollar a night hotel rates. lol
And what fool would pay rates like this? With so much poverty and ruin in the world, if you want to throw away 10k, do it the right way by giving it to feed or educate someone Like Holmes on Homes is doing.

CTV News CTV NEWS CTV NEWS

I read the article above with great interest along with all the comments.
The only thing I can say about it is that I went to a Global warming web page and it told Canadians that this problem is the result of people activity and it advised Canada that in order to stabilize the weather, we have to stop bringing in more people which then increases more people activity.

It sounded all pretty smart and educated and our Prime Minister Harper, has my vote on this Emirate Issue. He seems to be making many good decisions because they are made for the right reasons.

We are good people. If the Emirates don't want us there, let them take those who they want. Why do they need money? Judging from the infrastructure, most of this money never goes to the people. It's hoarded and then they use the gold for their buildings to invite more people to come see, as if we never saw gold before.
Our streets are paved in gold. We have many good clean streets for people to use, including women.
We have enough of our own problems. We have the sick, the aged, the poor and homeless and we need to take care of our own.

Unlike their ways, which believes in fighting for death, we fight for life. Our treasure and riches, lies in the gifts God loans us in the form of life and breath and it is a slap in Gods' face when we become eager to throw his gifts away, believing in his giving of heavenly awards for bad behavior.

We will build our own gold reserves, in our own way.
Maybe one day, the Arabs will need our oil. We know the Russians want it.
lol

Go Canada!!!
True North Strong and Free!!
