Ed Sullivan sure new how to pick the next stars. Connie Francis was one of them.
I still enjoy her songs and they apply to todays' life and living.
I don't think very many singers can compare to these old ones, who never rushed to tell you a story in melody and voice tone.
Who's Sorry Now sure hits the spot today because I am sure every one of us is sorry to watch how politics and government is affecting all our lives.
Could we have made better decisions choosing better leaders and listened between the lines of what was being said to us? Could we have asked better questions? Could we have asked for less money to be spent so we pay less taxes?
Is being given the right to vote at a young age before one has a chance to know or have a taste of life and living the right thing to do? Should we allow elementary schools invade the minds of our childrens' way of thinking instead of allowing them to learn and come to their own conclusions?
Should Pressure groups be allowed to influence votes?
Should potential leaders sell out the ethics and morals of a country for a vote?
and if we see this, should we see this as an example of who not to vote for?
After all....No is practically the very first word we hear and learn apart from Mama.lol
Yes I am sure we all can relate, in one way or another to this song, if not in love, then in some other aspect of our lives.
But in the end, is it not good to realize that we can be sorry and correct things before it is too late?
It seems our planet is telling us something these days and we should give it the attention it deserves and stop our scientists from playing with nature like with that
Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland experimenting with the BIG BANG theory, changing weather experiments and experiments which result in slowing the rotation of our planet and then blaming the public for their way of living and global warming, when in fact, nothing is further from the truth.
How is one to judge today, right from wrong, when truth is denied us?
Today some are sorry and some sorrier than others and some, who are the cause of every ones'
suffering, are not sorry at all. They live in a Marie Antoinette world, where they believe cake is readily available.
Yes, we are sorry to see so much damage done, so much blood spilt.
In yester year it was because of the sword and today, through nature rebelling and continuous wars brought on by old dogma, people do not want to let go of.
There are no winners in war, for God takes no sides in battle.
In facing your enemy, you stand alone.
God's job is to forgive because he knows man still does not understand the value, the morals and ethics, of peace.
Man is not ready to let go his fight for survival. He is born of clenched fist ready for battle until, weary, he finally opens it, for God to enter his soul and whisk it away to another place, where it can finally understand the true meaning of freedom, love and trust.
The thing about man is that he is always sorry and he is always ready to try harder in face of the same enemy........ himself. lol
Have a great Day!!!

Thanks for a great post. "Who's Sorry Now" could be the theme song for our present age. You've done a wonderful job of pinpointing some of the things many of us are now sorry for.
Hi Lady! It’s not what it seems: I’ve just been too busy... No holidays... ;)
This looks like my mother's songs... ;) Great! She's going to be 90!! ;)
Blogtrotter Two is posting on Corsica this summer... Enjoy and have a wonderful week!!
That Hadron Collider thing makes me a bit nervous!
Mama Zen - No kiddin. Some times I think people are just pushing their luck.
I don't remember anyone asking WE the People, if they could do that? lol
And where is Switzerland here?
Does it not have an opinion? If one country refuses to have this in its country why does the other one say ok?
George - I think this song is a good theme song for todays world.:)
Thanks Trotter
Watching all the flooding taking place everywhere, I now squint when I see buildings so close to shore.
But Corsica seems like a really nice peaceful place to relax in.
