Land slides in Italy

This is a land slide not a mud slide and Italy as well as Switzerland is on Satellite watch
which apparently helps to see where they may occur.
This video was caught and just to think something could happen is truly scary.
I don't believe anyone got hurt because 200 homes were excavated before this happened

Amazing what nature can do. Amazing, too, how we work around it.

Unbelievable
What an awful land slide is! This may be caused by an abnormal weather of the earth. We are suffering many disasters from too hot summer, heavy rain...

Jientje - It certainly is. Mother nature revolting.

rough terrain - What I find amazing is that the satellite can save lives by warning people to get out and another city was evacuated for the same reason and they just waited for the inevitable to happen.
Now with all this why can't they find Bin Laden and finish all this what they started so people can have peace. We are soooooo side tracked.

We have rock slides here in the mountains fairly regularly during winter in some of the rougher terrain. Fortunately not many people live there and the biggest problem we have is closed roads.

george - we had a few cases where one house would come down but nothing like this. We have rock slides along highways but thats expected since they cut and dynamite the rock to make the highway.

What an amazing video! I see a metaphor for our times: what we perceive as solid ground is actually shifting sand.

I think you meant to say "evacuated" instead of "excavated"...

Rhymes with Plague: They wrote that the homes were excavated as well as evacuated.lol Unless it was a misprint. They knew this was going to happen long before it did.

Oh, thanks for sharing the news. Do you know what they are going to do to "fix" it? It would be a shame it if all buildings would have to be replaced.
