Those Were The Days and then some

Be sure to refill the ice trays, we're going to have company.
Watch for the postman, I want to get this letter to Willie in the mail today.
Quit slamming the screen door when you go out!
Be sure and pull the windows down when you leave, it looks like a shower is coming up.

Don't forget to wind the clock before you go to bed.
Wash your feet before you go to bed, you've been playing outside all day barefooted.

Why can't you remember to roll up your britches legs? Getting them caught in the bicycle chain so many times is tearing them up.
You have torn the knees out of that pair of pants so many times there is nothing left to put a patch on.

Don't you go outside with your school clothes on.
Go comb your hair, it looks like the rats have nested in it all night.
Be sure and pour the cream off the top of the milk when
You open the new bottle.
Take that empty bottle to the store with you so you won't have to
Pay a deposit on another one.

Put a dish towel over the cake so the flies won't get on it.
Quit jumping on the floor! I have a cake in the oven and you are going to make it fall if you don't quit.
Let me know when the Fuller Brush man comes by, I need to get a few things from him.
You boys stay close by, the car may not start and I will need you to help push it off.

There's a dollar in my purse, get 5 gallons of gas when you go to town.
Open the back door and see if we can get a breeze through here, it is getting hot.

You can walk to the store, it won't hurt you to get some exercise.
Don't sit too close to the TV, It is hard on your eyes.

If you pull that stunt again, I am going to wear you out!
Don't lose that button, I'll sew it back on after a while.

Wash under your neck before you come to the table, you have beads of dirt and sweat all under there.
Get out from under the sewing machine, pumping it messes up the thread.
Be sure and fill the lamps this morning so we don't have to do that tonight in the dark.

Here, take this old magazine to the toilet with you when you go, we are almost out of paper out there.
Go out to the well and draw a bucket of water so I can wash dishes.
Don't turn the radio on now, I want the battery to be up when the Grand Ole Opry comes on.

No, I don't have 10 cents for you to go to the show. Do you think money grows on trees?
Eat those turnips, they'll make you big and strong like your daddy.
That dog is NOT coming in this house! I don't care how cold it is out there, dogs don't stay in the house.

Sit still! I'm trying to get your hair cut straight and you keep moving.
Hush your mouth, I don't want to hear words like that, I'll wash your mouth out with soap!
It is time for your system to be cleaned out. I am going to give you a dose of castor oil tonight.
If you get a spanking in school and I find out about it, you'll get another one when you get home.

Quit crossing your eyes, they will get stuck that way.
Soak your foot in this pan of kerosene so that bad cut won't get infected.
When you take your driving test, don't forget to signal each turn.
Left arm straight out the window for a left turn;
Left arm bent up at the elbow for a right turn;
And straight down to the side of the door when you are going to stop.

It's: 'Yes Ma'am' and 'No Ma'am' to me, young man, and don't you forget it!
Y'all come back now, ya hear.

Bring back any memories? It sure did for me!

Little Things Make a Difference

Now I found these little things cleaning cupboards and
still think they make for nice conversation pieces.

Not many people smoke today so not many homes put out
ash trays. This little shoe you can carry around in your purse
or pocket and use it for ashes or to lay a cigarette on for a few minutes
to do something

The Iron reminds us of the good old days when coal heated Irons were
heavy and hot to use. No wonder women were strong in those days.

and the little tray is full of refreshing drinks for when one gets thirsty.
I think all these things are made of bronze .

A Newfie went hunting one day in Ontario and bagged three ducks. He put them in the bed of his pickup truck

and was about to drive home when he was confronted by an ornery game warden who didn't like Newfies.

The game warden ordered the Newfie to show his hunting license, and the Newfie pulled out a valid

Ontario hunting license.

The game warden looked at the license, then reached over and picked up one of the ducks, sniffed its ass, and said,

'This duck ain't from Ontario. This is a Quebec duck. You got a Quebec huntin' license, boy?'

The Newfie reached into his wallet and produced a Quebec hunting license.

The warden smelled the third ducks ass and said this duck is from Manitoba. Do you have a Manitoba huntin license?

The Newfie took out his wallet and again showed the warden that he did.

The warden got a little frustrated and asked

Where are you from anyway?

The Newfie took down his pants, bent over and said

Guess. You got the other three right.

In Korea Door Handles do not break

His instructor "Chun" was a master of shinanju. Shinanju was the predecessor to all martial arts. Kung fu, Karate, Wrestling, ... all come from Shinanju. Shinanju is a village in Korea, that makes his money by it's citizens being professional assasins. All monies raised by the assasins (minus expenses) goes to the village. Shinanju assasinations are "perfect".

(this is fiction of course)

Seoul, Korea

I found some Pics of when we went to Soeul, Korea.

It seems like a dream today that we've actually been to so many places.

It was so exciting to see how people shopped and what they bought, from
what we used to call, going to bazaars.

When I came across the material section, I almost died seeing the wide selection of
so much I would have loved to buy and bring home . But we had no time and had to hurry.

These were taken on the way to Canada. Coming back we took the same route because from Canada to Korea and vs was almost an empty plane and so we could stretch out on the seats to sleep. Either it was day and day and day or night and night and night lol
Then they loaded up the plane in Korea to go to Hong Kong and Singapore.

One our way back we stopped in BC and ate a Burger King in down town Vancouver and my son got food poisoning . He was quite ill on the plane. Then we had to stay inside our Korean hotel room, till he got better poor guy.

The swing you see, is from the old folk village. The man was trying to make a loop around it I think, because he was going sooo high. It was all made out of rope and had no chains.

The seafood was everywhere in abundance and if not displayed the way you see it, then live in tubs on the floor. They had many eels and continuously told people to stay away from the tubs because they could jump out at you and bite.
We didn't need to be told twice lol

It was so exciting to walk around from section to section of this place we were at and we bought a lot of presents for family and friends in Montreal.
The food is grown on human manure and so many people who know this would not eat much while visiting lol
We even saw pigs in the old village eat peoples poop from the bathrooms.
I wonder what they did with these pigs ???

Charlie's Chocolate Factory

This is Charlie and I have to say I love him.
I have never had so much fun going to a chocolate factory, the likes of his.
He has a river of chocolate flowing to entertain children and Willy Wonka, from the movie, probably got his idea from Charlie here, in Burnaby, BC.

What is more fun is that you can see the chocolate being made in front of you and you can order
your own logos and designs for weddings, valentines and even Chinese New Year which is coming real soon on the 4th of February.

You can even rent a fountain, flowing chocolate ,for your guests to dip their own straw berries in, for good luck.

Charlie is in his 80's . He will always be known for his kind, fun loving spirit and I think he makes coming to BC one of life's pleasures.

Ever since I visited his place some odd years ago with my sons' class, I can never forget the experience and if you come to BC, this sure is a place to stop to have a look see.

I mean, anything your heart desires, can be found here in chocolate. His employees must have a ball coming to work each day. I know his customers do especially if this man is there to greet them.
Charlie really makes a difference in the selling of Chocolate .
I wish him all the best!!!
:)

Charlie has a new factory up in Coquitlam as well as Burnaby.

“It's not that chocolates are a substitute for love. Love is a substitute for chocolate. Chocolate is, let's face it, far more reliable than a man.”
Miranda Ingram

Chocolate causes certain endocrine glands to secrete hormones that affect your feelings and behavior by making you happy. Therefore, it counteracts depression, in turn reducing the stress of depression. Your stress-free life helps you maintain a youthful disposition, both physically and mentally. So, eat lots of chocolate!”

Catty Lear.

This girl I know lives on the 4th floor of an apartment, and even
though it is a fairly good neighborhood, she has been having
trouble with a Peeping Tom that lives next door.

Every time she goes out onto her balcony to catch a bit of sun
while wearing her bikini, this Peeping Tom looks over from his
balcony as soon as she removes her top, and stares at her all the
time she is there.

She has complained to the superintendent about this Peeping
Tom, but he says she must have positive proof before he can do a thing.

She FINALLY got a picture (above)of him, while he was staring at her.

Peeping Tom.
Nice guy lol

I had a cat that did the same in the bathroom.
Every time people would go, he'd push the door and look inside to watch you.
It got to be eerie and I'd yell at him to leave cause after all, this is private stuff lol
Eventually he put two and two together and I caught him going into the bathroom to do his number 2.in the toilet and to pee he'd go in the hole in the bathtub.

Cats are smart.
Sure saved me a lot in kitty litter.

Here is another fun clip to enjoy. Now we know why we love animals.

Did you Know?

I never knew how they cut logs before but this gives me a birds eye view of what part of a log I am buying next time I shop for wood. They make like 14 different cuts from one log.
Before they ship a log it has to be cut to a certain length so all the logs are the same length when they are loaded onto a truck for shipping.

cork flooring planksCork has a multitude of green characteristics. The material is acquired by stripping most of the outer bark from the cork oak tree. This regular harvesting does the tree no harm, and the bark grows back, to be stripped again every nine years.

The trees live for 200 years or so, and the forests, called Montados, are highly prized and passed down through generations of families in the cork-producing business.

Even cork processing is relatively straightforward: The cork sheets or pieces are cured, boiled and pressed. Scraps are collected for reuse, so almost nothing is wasted.

http://newvisionfloors.com/flooring/cork/

Cork flooring seems to be very attractive since it doesn't seem to hurt the tree.

Cork Flooring at Home Depot

Like bamboo, cork is environmentally friendly, since no trees are cut down when it's harvested—cork is actually bark, and is harvested from "living" trees, and the bark re-grows in roughly 8 to 9 years.

Cork flooring comes in tiles or interlocking planks to make a floating floor. It also comes in a variety of colours—not just brown— and in patterned designs.

The benefits of cork flooring are numerous: an insulating floor that is soft and cushiony, it's as durable as wood, doesn't hold indentations, and is never cold like tile. It's easy to clean and won't trap mildew or rot — making it suitable for bathrooms and kitchens.

It's something I am going to look into.

Joke:

A panda walks into a restaurant, sits down, and orders a sandwich. He eats the sandwich, pulls out a gun, and shoots the waiter dead. As the panda stands up to go, the manager shouts, "Hey! Where are you going? You just shot my waiter, and you didn't even pay for your sandwich!""Hey, man, I'm a PANDA!" the panda shouts back. "Look it up!"The manager opens his dictionary and reads: "Panda: a tree-dwellingmammal of Asian origin, characterized by distinct black and whitecoloring. Eats shoots and leaves."

Sarah Palin on Arizona Shooting

Sarah Palin made a nice speech here

But I must go back to what an Arizona Policeman said about people being balanced.
Freedom of speech is good and I support it, with limits.
I find it degrading to see women behave obnoxious on television just because they can.
I do not like bad language in music.
I don't like men disrespecting women and vs.
I don't like society saying it's ok to behave like animals, because even animals have restrictions
laws and limits.

I am glad Sarah Palin mentioned God here because the new generation doesn't know him.
When we speak to these kids
about our founding Fathers, they do not understand what this all means,
because they do not understand the men who wrote the constitution.
There is a wide gap here.

Saying people have rights and freedoms and taking God out of Government, means exactly that.
It takes law out of the land.
Government can't make laws, if God can't.
Just think about it.
How outlandish this all is.
Our democracy is supposed to defend minorities.
So we make laws against the status quo to defend them.
If man is equal to man then government consists of men equal to men and minorities rule.

So if a minority kills someone, how is he to be judged, if there is no supreme being above
and unequal to man, to judge him?
Man cannot judge man. Only God can judge man and his laws are stricken from the court system and government,
so there is no basis to build law on.
A house needs a foundation. Without one, it will fall. So will a country and it's laws.

Man's laws do not need to be obeyed and most of our problems stem from that today.
Our law courts are full and no one can get compensation for all the damage caused to the victim.

I never thought in my life, that I would be talking about God, as much as I seem to be doing today, but I feel God,
whether he exists or not being irrelevant, is getting a raw deal and so is man.

Man needs God to exist. Man needs his laws, to base ours on.
Something or someone needs to be master of this thing we call life and existence.
and man cannot do that, because all men are created equal.

When discussing a violent act, we have to take responsibility for not raising our children properly.
Freedoms can only be given to people who are educated and have a brain to think with
to make sound decisions.

Otherwise, it would be the same as giving matches to a child or sending a child to play in traffic.
It's just asking for trouble and someone has to take responsibility for this.
Without God to make the basis for the rule of law, no man is guilty of allowing another to die.
No man needs to be his brothers keeper and no man is responsible for another's woe.

This is why people always revert back to God, no matter what the Government says.

Thanks

Doin It Doin It Doin It

Genoa Salami is the favorite in my house. We just can't seem to get enough of it and it's the first to go before ham and chicken and turkey breast cold cuts.
It seems to be a very popular salami because as opposed to pepperoni, which we can buy as a whole salami for 4.99 , Genoa goes for over 10 dollars and even 15.00.

I made a few whole salamis a long while back but today I am finding a hard time finding beef casings.
They are usually sold in butcher shops for sausages, since butchers like to make their own sausages and therefore they are much smaller than what you would need for a 3 inch diameter salami. I found sausages do not need curing or casings since they taste the same from the freezer when you fry them and you can make them in any shape you like. lol
For Genoa,
You would need the following ingredients and usually two people for stuffing them.

5 pounds Beef chuck, round or shank
3 pounds Lean pork butt, cubed
2 pounds Pork fat, cubed
5 tablespoons Salt
1 cup Brandy, good quality
1 1/2 tablespoon Sugar
2 tablespoons Whole peppercorns
1 tablespoon Ground white pepper
1 teaspoon Coriander seed-finely ground
2 teaspoons Garlic, finely minced
1 teaspoon Cardamom
1/2 teaspoon Ascorbic acid
1 teaspoon Saltpeter
4 Feet large beef casings

-------------
The beef and pork and fat are ground separately coursely then mixed together and chilled in the fridge for half an hour. Then you regrind it again through a smaller grinder disk.
Then the other ingredients are added and mixed my hand after which you put it into the refrigerator in a plastic bag and let it marinate in the seasonings overnight. (24 hrs)

Then you need a nozzle to place on your grinder and the casings need to be a little wet so they slide over the nozzle. You tie one end then you place the meat into the grinder and grind it into the the casings tightly packing the meat inside with no bubbles.
If you get casings 4 ft long this should make 4 salamis.
After each foot you tie the casing off and continue to the next foot.
After you tie them off and cut them and have 4 separate salamis, its a good idea to roll them and smooth them to get rid of any trapped air pockets.

It takes 8-12 weeks to hang dry the salami but then you will have something really good that will take a while to eat and once you get good at it, they make for great presents for family and close friends. :)

I covered mine with cloth and hung them off the ceiling in the garage. This way they stayed
clean and out of the way. If you have a basement that is good too.

:)

Now this is interesting. Zodiac Sign changes. Think you are a Libra? Nope. You are a Virgo. Signs changed to one month back. But most people decided they will stay what they are. lol Video is found at address below http://rah.posterous.com/new-zodiac-sign-2012

Mary Mary Quite Contrary

Mary Mary Quite Contrary How does your Garden grow? I always liked this little poem. It is also my Mom's name.
My Dad had a HUGE garden he loved to work in.
Whenever I would say to him I wanted to do the same he would say have you any idea how much work it entails?
It was as if I fell from the sky and never saw what he did lol
What I did see is how much he enjoyed it.
Every day he and my Mom would go out and check out their babies and fuss over them and this is what plants like. To be fussed over, trimmed, weeded and for people this exercise is a lot more profitable than going to the gym.

Everyone eats potatoes and how many potatoes did I begin from the potato peels.
They just want to sprout and grow.
Potatoes take about 90-150 days to grow depending.
Cabbage , which is very good for you in cabbage soup - takes 4 months.
Peas take 60 days
Onions take 50-60 days
tomatoes take 55-65 days
pumpkins 90-105 days
beets 40-70 days
corn 72-90 days green beans 50-55 days
caulifour 4-5 months small hot peppers 65 days
brussel sprouts 90 days
carrots - 90 days
shallots 90-110 days
garlic 3 months

If you build a hot house and plant new things halfway before you harvest your first crop, you could have vegetables all year round. As long as there is no frost.

Take carrots for instance.
In 365 days a year, you could get 4 crops.
If you need about 2 carrots a day for soups, salads, etc.....
You would need to plant 730 carrots a year
Divide that by 4 crops and this makes about 182 carrots per crop.
Or make two crops and parboil and freeze them for the year.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Shallots - They take 90- 110 days. These are popular and will be eaten fast but then they grow in bunches so you would need at most 365 bunches per year even less.
4 crops - would make 365 divided by 4 making about 91 bunches per crop.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Tomatoes - 55 - 65 days.
Lets say you get 6 beef tomatoes from each plant.
Tomatoes can be frozen whole or made into juice or chopped and boiled and canned for stews. This makes for 5.7 crops a year if you want that many.

12 plants yielding 6 beef tomatoes per plant, gives you 72 tomatoes.
24 plants would give you 144 tomatoes.
12 plants, doing 5 crops of tomatoes, would give you a yield 360 tomatoes.
24 plants, 2 crops, would give you 288 tomatoes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Beans take about 60 days to grow.
Now I don't know how many beans you would get from a plant.
Lets say 25 per plant enough for 4 people a day.
you could have 6 harvests per year.
All you would need is 365 plants per year .
6 crops of 68 plants, a year would feed a family of 4.
Since you would not eat green beans every day there is enough to parboil and freeze.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Lettuce - 70 to 90 days. This I would not grow much of cause it spoils fast and is cheap to buy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cabbage is a very healthy thing to grow but tricky because of pests. It takes 120 - 150 days to grow.
You would not eat cabbage every day but it is great salted and then fried with onions or eaten washed and grated with fresh onions and olive oil or in cole slaw.It also can be kept for a while in a cool dry room for soups and cabbage rolls
Some people freeze it for cabbage rolls cause then its easier to peel the leaves off once defrosted.
I usually boil the head and fight with hot leaves to peel them off.lol
So it can be frozen as well.

You would not need 365 heads a year unless you were feeding an army.
50 heads would be more than enough and if cut into two crops, that makes for 25
heads a crop.
You could get about 2 crops a year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Eggplants are wonderful if you are like me and like to make my Russian Caviar out of.
You bake them, skin them and fry them with grated carrots, onions, tomatoes, and garlic.
While frying I squish everything together with my fork and the eggplant makes it look like it has tiny seeds inside or caviar.lol Thus the name.
You season with lemon juice and black pepper and salt to taste and then you can put it into sterilized jars for winter condiments.
It is so tasty on bread or as a side dish for turkey etc...Very healthy for kids to snack on on crackers as an after school snack.
My husband likes to stuff them. You cut them lengthwise into 4 pieces and then make slits and fill the slits with mince meat and rice filling.A pot of that mixed with stuffed tomatoes is sooooo delicious either baked or steamed in a pot on slow low heat cooking.

Eggplants also take about 4-5 months to grow or 150 days so you can have a yield of two crops a year. So again depending on what you want to do with them and how important eggplants are in your life lol......

Each plant can give you 6 eggplants. 12 plants give you 72 eggplants.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well this exercise gave me a lot of perspective as to how much, of what, I need to plant to make it worth the trouble. Usually when I go to buy plants to plant,
I never know how many to buy. lol

Usually my parents went all out especially on green beans but they had a lot of cabbage and eggplants and zuccinis.
The zuccinis my Mom would grow real big. She would empty them, cut them into rings and freeze them. Then she would put the rings into a baking dish , about 6-8 rings, with the meat filling of her choice in each ring, cover with slices of tomato and bake them.
Her food was always gobbled up.

Come winter my parents were never scared. They had a well stacked freezer in the cold garage, a basement full of homemade preserves, and cold cuts they got, also home made, from this german fella in a nearby town, who had his own large smoke house.

In case of a storm when they would lose electricity, their home was always warm and friendly
and full of things to eat and cooking was done on a small franklin stove which also provided light and they were always glad to share.
Sometimes you look forward to snow storms for a reason to stay home lol

Hope you enjoyed this blog. :)

Japanese Fir In Peace and Light

Ever since we moved to our house, I loved this tree. Just a three foot sapling, This Japanese fir, grew soo tall over the last 15 years, which seems just like, a blink of an eye.

So many memories have been made in this house.

Last night we had snow and at 1 a.m. my son and I decided to enjoy the peace and freshness of this powdery display with the dogs. We were up anyway thinking, do we shovel or let it snow?lol

So we went outside and ran the dogs uphill and they pulled my son down hill as if he were on skiis. So nice to be young and to enjoy such liberties.

One big dog and one tiny dog had the best time ever and really did not want to come back inside.
As predicted, this morning it is all melting away.
We didn;t need to shovel. lol
:)

Alfred Tennyson - Character

With a half glance upon the sky
at night, he said -"the wanderings
Of this most intricate universe,
Teach me the nothingness of things."
Yet could not all creation pierce,
Beyond the bottom of his eye.

He spake of beauty ; that the dull
Saw no divinity in grass,
Life in dead stones,or spirit in the air;
Then looking as 'twere in a glass,
He smoothed his chin and sleeked his hair,
And said, the earth was beautiful.

He spake of virtue: not of gods
More purely, when they wish to charm,
Pallas and Juno sitting by;
And with the sweeping of an arm,
And a lack lustre blue eye,
Devolved his rounded periods.

Most delicately hour by hour,
He canvassed human mysteries,
And trod on silk, as if the winds
Blew his own praises in his eyes,
And stood aloof of other minds,
In impotence of fancied power.

With lips depressed as he were meek,
Himself unto himself he sold,
Upon himself did feed,
Quiet dispassionate and cold,
And other than his form of creed,
With chiselled features clear and sleek.

Work, Is It Discouraged As Well As Life?

War immigrants came to this country dirt poor.
They worked and they took pride in not asking for assistance.
Asking for assistance was the worst thing that could happen to them.
It meant loss of face, self respect and pride.

Contracts, consisted of a mans' word. A handshake. And people stood by their promises .
When a person hurt himself with a hammer or a knife or got punched in the nose because of a spat he would not run to the hospital for cures or the lawyer for compensation.
He'd rub it or tie it up laugh and say: " Well, that was fun." and then go about his business.
People, especially old people, never cried tears. I never saw tears when they suffered pain and anguish. They were all cried out. They understood the score and kept on working.

The old people were fun to be with. They had kids and kids watched them fight and cry and love and work and play.
People stuck together. Neighbors stuck together.

They made work, look like fun. Kids helped to build houses, grow gardens and prepare for winter. It was team work and team work was fun.
I remember we made our own salted cabbage, our own tomato juice, our own pickles, jams,
fixed our own cars, changed our own oil.
We picked our own apples and made apple sauce, we picked our own berries to freeze, we made our own kolbassa's.
We sewed our own clothes, even ball gowns and wedding gowns of fine satin.
We fixed our own shoes, knitted blankets made quilts and all this in times after 1945.
People made their own beer and moon shine and every one was happy.
Life was happy.
Every season had something to do and when you were busy doing, you were happy.
You compared with your neighbors and took pride in everything that you did.
Life was not grand. Everything was small scale but it was happy.

Today things changed. Today we have rights and freedoms and no more rights and wrongs.
Today man can walk upright, without humility or shame and say you can't judge me.
It's illegal.
Today you work to have something and the guy with "rights" sees and thinks how can I get some of that without working and so he sits and thinks and finds a way to steal the work ethics by stopping people from working.
He creates laws which then brings in more cost and more taxes.

So people do not work. Why should they when they get penalized for working and rewarded with big gains for not working.
So we see decline.
We see quality gone down the drain.
We see fun taken out of people's lives.
We see bad behavior rewarded.
We see....
Bad words making millions.
Bad movies. Violence. Crime,
Sex and drugs honored
cause let's face it, it's not taxed. lol

We see wrongs committed under the guise of it being right.
We see traditional families being destroyed.
We see homeless in a country where there were none even in depression years cause
People always had places to go.

We see churches locking their doors at a time they need to be open for people
We see banks taking homes away from people.
and
When man fights back, he is "evaluated" for his behavior.lol

Why bother?

Man is fighting back because of society's behavior.
Our children fight back because of our behavior. lol

Man was born with a soul and when you take that soul away, he is left with nothing.
When you are left with nothing you have nothing to lose.
You are an individual and you walk alone.
When you walk alone, you hunt alone.

You survive alone, at the expense of everyone else, if need be.
A man with no soul has no use for laws or banks or jobs or houses or families.

When you visit places of poverty you see this in childrens'
eyes. They are not children. They are hunters.
We see them as children but they are not children.
They will not bat an eye to hunt you down for something they want,
like food and your wallet.

People were not meant to walk alone.
This is why Christianity took hold because man did not want to be hunted.
Man wanted to do good and did not want to be
tortured, stoned, beaten , enslaved, sexually exploited and hunted.

Christianity brought the idea in that, man can work. Man needs to be shown mercy.
and the ten commandments brought in the laws, to ensure that man could work and be shown mercy.

They were simple laws under which man could live happy because you can make mistakes without being killed for them. Mistakes can be corrected.

Today, they took laws and made them a free for all . So laws have become meaningless.
How do you give in to gay marriage and not hurt the children raised in this environment?
How do you balance this issue between the rights of gay people and the rights of children?
Gay adults have their way of life chosen freely by themselves but children are not given the same privilege to choose, being raised in a gay community.
How many times do children honor their parents and say Mom I want to grow up to be just like you. If Mom is lesbian. what does this mean exactly?
Or Dad I love you. I want to be just like you when I grow up but Dad is effeminate.
Does that child really know who he is then?
We already rob kids of childhood. Are we to rob them of their sexual being as well?

Does society plan on taking children away from people in the future?
Maybe it would be a good idea, depending on how they plan on raising them lol

How do you say the sex trade is legal if it destroys families and peoples lives and children?
By saying yes, you are saying it's ok to prostitute and to seek sex outside marriage.

How do you say drugs are ok when people die from the side effects, or druggies come and kill you for money to buy them? You see a disabled person with money to buy marijuana. Does he have money to buy medication and food? and whose money is he spending? The tax payers?

Everything we do, has a cost.

Today, People do not grow gardens, or know how to fix cars, make jams and candles and soaps etc.... and then when economic hardships come, because of bad world management, everyone is up shits creek because stores don't get trucks in. We live in a false sense of security and know nothing about how to fend for ourselves.

How is it that in our times, people have to live on the streets?
Why can't people find jobs?
Why can't they sell their own home made goods?
Keep their own cow rabbits sheep and chickens?
Why can't people have their own methane to heat their own houses from home made manure?
We complain about our dumping areas but we should not need dumping areas. We should not need recycled water.

We have these problems
Because our government has laws.
All these laws which are supposed to help, enslave man to taxes and hell.
And while he does that the cost of living is rising.

In the mean time they dig holes and take out oil and the planet doesn't like being dug like that.
The earth plates shift from the imbalances and people die.

And Donald Trump is now running for President because he cares lol

No one cares.
So next time someone says there should be a law..... we need to think about what that someone is really saying.

We have enough laws.
What we do not have is a soul and good will to make things right, because that would need
the only laws you need,
found in the 10 commandments.

They are very simple and cover everything man needs covered.

Hard work and life need not be discouraged. Strong families make for good work ethics.

Alone, man has nothing to live or work for and when society helps to alienate man
by listening to demands which are wrong, then we will always have to live in fear that some one some where will die...and not by accident.
:)

Australia Flooding

This picture shows what other dangers people have to face in Australia.
The flooding has reached Brisbane. Cars are being swept away and waters can be seen reaching roof tops and some of the most dangerous of vipers are clinging to life.
I can see those waters filled with crocodiles.

So now we find out that my son is left at home with his little daughter cut off from leaving his town because of this flood while his wife is safe at her brothers place for now.
My son doesn't drive so he had to wait for his wife to get him out of there and she couldn't get through because the roads were closed.

The rest of us sit and wait and watch to see what is going to happen next.

God is angry at man because of his arrogance.
If judges sit and behave like Pontius Pilate, making wrong decisions for the wrong reasons, like they are doing with gay marriage, and relieving the country of Christian mercy, then all we will have left are people with no souls and no mercy, such as the young man who shot in Safeway at the Congress Woman.
Why is Obama pushing higher costs of living, when people are homeless and job less? They are selling homes for 1000.00 Why not let the people live in their homes?
We went into a war just to catch Bin Laden. Where is Bin Laden?
Why can't they find him and bring the soldiers home?

We can't blame God for his wrath.
We create wrath ourselves.

:)

Update : My Son seems to be fine where he is but his wife can't get home because of the flooding.

Curiousity Killed the Cat

This is a fir tree in Victoria , BC.
They grow even bigger than this.
Having read the Oak Legend I had to find out which tree was used to crucify people.

I was happy to learn oak grew in areas like Bashan, and in the Ḥurshat Tal of the Ḥuleh valley but was expensive and too hard to cut so they needed a softer wood and this then most likely was the fir tree.

Lebanon had lots of cedar trees which symbolized pride and loftiness
The city of Tyre made oars out of oak

The oak when it is old is cut down and then regrows by letting out shoots.
Issiah used this oak tree to compare the fate of the Jewish people to the old oak.

The old oak (together with an elah, *terebinth) standing near the gate Shallekhet in Jerusalem that frequently had its branches and trunk cut down, only its stump remaining; yet no sooner was it felled, than the stump put forth "holy seed," sprouting new shoots (Isa. 6:13). Possibly Isaiah 11:1: "And there shall come forth a shoot out of the stock of Jesse, and a twig shall grow forth out of his roots" is a continuation of this chapter.

The oldest oak tree in Israel today is in Hebron and known as the oak of Hebron.
Either this tree or one of its ancestors is mentioned as the tree under which Abraham received the kings.(Ant., 1:186; cf. Wars, 4:533)

Shiitake on Oak

Who loves Shiitake mushrooms?
I love all mushrooms especially fried with onions.

These mushrooms are grown on oak trunks.
All you need is to buy the spores.

What you need is an oak with a diameter of 4-8 inches, which you cut into 3-4 feet lengths.
This you do in the fall once you are ready with the spores.
You may try three logs to start.
Drill holes 6 inches apart and in rows of 4 inches apart, with a 3/4 inch drill bit.
Cover the logs so they stay moist

When you are ready, push the spores into the holes as deep as you can and seal the holes with melted wax so they do not dry out.
Put the logs into a shady place and wait.
You should see some mushrooms in a few weeks.

Commercially prepared spores to inoculate your logs were available at
Paul Goland of Hardscrabble Enterprises (P.O. Box 1124, Franklin, W. Virgina 26807 or 304-358-2921).
They come either as hardwood plugs or thimble spawn. The plugs are easier to insert into the holes of ten logs. They cost about 13 dollars plus shipping. (about 6 dollars).
I would sure like to try growing them . As long as you do not disturb the root they will regrow.
They need a warm moist environment usually found in spring and fall.
Vancouver weather is always moist and not too cold in the southern part.
Otherwise you may need a warm moist shed and then they will grow all year round and you can enjoy a good breakfast of them with eggs every morning.

Legend of the Oak

The Little Oak trees are growing and so far surviving.
I will need to transplant them soon.

The King Oak has a remarkable legend.
It's kinda confusing cause these trees are also known as the Mother tree and mankind was said to have come out of the oak.

Oak relates to the sun and the element of fire.

Many Gods are associated to it like Jupitor, Zeus, Erato, Thor, Janus,
and it has other legendary powers which inspire people.

The Oak has powers of protection health money healing potency fertility luck wisdom and strength.

The Oak give shelter and protection and is looked upon as a sacred tree.

The Celts and the Norse loved it for the acorns and for its size.

The Druids liked to meet by Oak trees to do their ceremonies.
They believed if they carried an acorn they would stay young lol
If you want to protect yourself from evil, try putting two twigs together in a cross and tie it with red thread.

If you fear lightening try putting acorns in your windows.

Catching a falling leaf will protect you from colds all winter and if you burn the wood it also will chase away illness.

Wands are made out of Oak and used in sacrificial rituals in a full moon and the oak represents the 7th moon.

Legend has it that when it came time to choose a tree to crucify Jesus all the trees agreed to split so as not to be used except for the oak and as a result Grecians do not want anything to do with the oak.

Another legend has it that when Cain murdered Abel, he had to carry his body 700 years and then bury him. Cain stuck his staff into the ground to mark the burial place and seven oaks sprang forth in a row, announcing the 7 oaks of Palestine.

Still another legend has it that when King Harold was in Rouen with William, William made him swear an oath under the oak tree. The king broke his oath which made the oak leaves fall so everyone knew what happened.

If you dip two acorns in the same bowl of water people will get some news.

If the acorns float together, then the couple will marry.

Another interesting story had to do with Zeus. Greece had a festival called Daedala.
Hera, Zeus's fiancee, got mad at him for deceiving her.She saw he carried a wooden image of Daedala. She later forgave him but for the festival the image was carved out of Oak to remember the deceit.

To choose the tree , they placed meat at the foot of many trees and the one the ravens ate from, was the one they cut down to make the carved image.

In Ireland, the oak is taken very good care of because they believe that if the tree falls, it will be the end of Earl of Howth's direct line. So when they see an ailing oak they put supports to keep it erect.

On the practical side oak is excellent firewood and building material and is used for tanning, dying cloth, and acorns for bread.

And so my lovely little Oak trees are being treasured in this house hold but I only have three
and two have two stems each.

I hope more pop out but so far they haven't. I will need to transplant them soon so the roots do not get disturbed.

Trump Tower Dubai

This is the New Trump Tower in Dubai.

The east is going west and the west is going east.

This is the new play ground built for the rich and famous. It will be interesting to observe
exactly who will be going there and exactly for what reasons.

This building will have many books written about it I am sure.
Many would love to be a fly on those walls.
They call them bugs and probably the place is infested with them lol
--------------------------------------------------
This link shows the following contract (below) Trump makes his wives sign before marriage.
It's a joke......... and then ....... maybe not. lol

http://www.hogwild.net/Rants/donald-trump-wedding-the-apprentice-jokes-pictures.htm
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the legal contract Trump made his new wife sign.

The Trump Pre-Nuptial Agreement

1. PURPOSE. Mr. Donald Trump, herein referred to as "The Donald" and Ms. Melania Knauss, herein referred to as "The Trophy Wife" are merging into matrimony, herein referred to as "The Trump Partnership III, Inc." The parties are setting forth in this Agreement their respective rights.

2. EFFECT OF AGREEMENT. The Donald will retain 100% of all property, cash, and hair upon termination of Trump Partnership III, Inc.

The Donald will retain 100% of all revenue from the tell-all book deal (tentatively titled "Trump: The Art of the Deal III. The Deal is, you're Dumped!", © Random Whores Publishing), post-divorce television interview appearance fees, and monies collected from the eBay auction of The Trophy Wife's underwear.

The Donald is entitled to keep 100% of revenues generated from the free publicity to Trump Enterprises resulting from the termination of Trump Partnership III, Inc. The Trophy Wife is entitled to keep 100% of the humiliation of being replaced by a younger woman.

THE MARLA MAPLES CLAUSE: After termination of Trump Partnership III, Inc. Trophy Wife may no longer use the Trump name in association with her pathetic attempts at a career in acting/singing/dancing/spokeswoman for vaginal
hygiene products
.

If The Trophy Wife files for divorce, she may not issue the public statement, "You're Fired!" Make up your own catch-phrase, bitch!

3. DISPOSITION OF PROPERTY. All Trump property in the possession of The Trophy Wife must be returned, including Trump Hotel towels.

Likenesses of The Trophy Wife may continue to be used in

I. The Trump Hotel, Casino, and Ex-wife Wax Museum
II. All Trump-brand masturbation fantasies

The Trophy Wife is prohibited from visiting any of The Donald's personal property such as most of the Atlantic City strip, Palm Beach, Florida or the entirety of Manhattan. If found trespassing, she will be escorted to the outer boroughs.

The Donald may dissolve Trump Partnership III, Inc. given the occurrence of any of the below eventualities:

I. The Trophy Wife turns 40.
II. The Trophy Wife looks 40.
III. The Trophy Wife has some really hot model friends who "were totally asking for it."
IV. The Trophy Wife stops going "downtown."
V. Infidelity
a) The Donald suspects her infidelity from something he heard on The Howard Stern Show
b) The Donald proves her infidelity with 3 other parties signing as witnesses on SSODC
(Standard Small Orgy Declaration Form)

VI. The Trophy Wife suggests that Mr. Trump's hair is anything but 100% natural. And beautiful.
VII. The Trophy Wife intentionally touches The Hair.

VIII. The Trophy Wife doesn't properly respect The Hair.
IX. The Donald "feels like it".
X. Roman numerals are cool.

4. RIGHTS ACCORDED TO THE TROPHY WIFE. As predictable as it may be, The Trophy Wife is fully within her rights to pose for the obligatory Playboy shoot. The Trophy Wife's constitutional right to pose softcore shall not be infringed upon.

However, under no circumstances may The Trophy Wife sell photos that include The Donald. This clause applies especially to photos that include The Penis.

The Trophy Wife is accorded the right to a "hearty pat on the back" for a job well done, in addition to a patronizing "Certificate of Appreciation."

The Trophy Wife is entitled to keep all items given to her during the course of Trump Partnership III, Inc. including furs, diamonds, and Trump babies. Items are non-returnable under Florida State Law 4316.12b: No Backsies.

Upon termination of Trump Partnership III, Inc. The Trophy Wife may make one (1) public joke about The Donald's hair. But will then be legally required to state that, all kidding aside, Mr. Trump's hair is lush, natural and very real.

The Trophy Wife is entitled to her fading looks, possible eating disorder and bitter tears.
Perhaps, if she doesn't like it, she can just pack up and go back to Serbia, Slovakia or whichever potato-loving, dictator-having, mass-grave country she came from. Would she like that any better? This legal document didn't think so.

The Trophy Wife may apply to be a contestant on a special edition of The Apprentice: The All-Star Ex-Wives Edition. And because of her qualifications as a foreign-born woman with no job skills, The Trophy Wife may also apply to be a maid at The Trump Hotel.

5. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS. Given the dissolution of this union, The Trophy Wife will be presented with two legal options:
A) "Like it."
or B) "Lump it."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know who wrote this joke or if it even applies to Trump but
After reading it, I can quite easily see why it is appropriate for Trump Towers to be built in the Emirates. It speaks for the man and what he represents.
The man lives in a world of fantasy but he will never be loved the way Walt Disney is, for creating a getaway for normal people and their families to enjoy and remember him by.

But then.....I guess Trump doesn't care what I think ;)
He's Off! Running for President lol

Kutya For a Julian Christmas.

While the Russkies are lazying around airports, they are missing their Christmas at home, because they are a day ahead in Russia and it's Friday already out there.

After the 1917 revolution, Russia lost her Christmas holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus but the people kept the holiday alive hidden under the guise of Ded Moroz or Father Frost with a red nose.

To this day Kutya is one of their important dishes to make since meat is not allowed, if you follow tradition.

Kutya symbolizes hope happiness and peace and is served at the Holy Supper before church service.
This is when they cover the table with a white table cloth, to represent Christ's swaddling clothes.
They put a few pieces of hay stocks to represent poverty.

Pagach or lenten bread is made to represent Christ as the bread of life.

A white candle is lit and represents the light of the world.

A prayer is then said with each family member being crossed with a cross of wet honey, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, for sweetness to last in their life.

Then pieces of bread, is dipped into honey and chopped garlic to represent life as being both sweet and bitter.

Then they would sit and eat.

Kutya would be thrown up onto the ceiling and if it stuck, then this meant they would have a year of plenty. It was a custom to eat Kutya from the same bowl to represent unity between family and friends.

The Holy Supper consists mainly of 12 dishes representing the 12 disciples.

Usually you find mushroom soup, pagach bread, grated garlic, a bowl of honey, baked cod,
(apricots, oranges figs and dates), nuts, kidney beans with shredded potatoes seasoned with garlic, salt and pepper, peas,
parsley potatoes and biscuits with sauerkraut or poppy seed with honey to be completed with red wine.

Then carolers walked from house to house singing songs.

Santa is known as St Nicholas. He is said to come from Myra of Lycia, which was a Greco Roman city. Since he was also outlawed, Father Frost replaced him. He was the spirit of winter who traveled with a snow maiden and they gave out gifts.

Since the Christmas tree was also banned, they still put up a tree for new years, decorated in fruit.

Our Christmas comes earlier because we follow the Gregorian Calendar and they, in Russia, follow the Julian calendar, which is 13 days later, on Jan 6 th.

This makes it hard when trying to figure out birthdays. lol

Kutya is a very healthy dish especially for children. It's sorta like a porridge made out of wheat berries, poppy seeds, honey, sugar, and walnuts.

I tasted it once and it was delicious!!!
Definitely worth trying to make.

Merry Christmas Russia!!!
Congrats on the Gold in Hockey!!

:)

Smiles for the New Year!!

So the unruly Russians were kicked off the plane eh?
lol

Awww Canada.
We love our beer but we don't have to be upset they don't like it as much as we do.
After all, they drank watered down whisky, not 110 proof vodka, Russia's used to.
No wooses in bear wrestling Russia
and
I'd say Gold is an excellent reason to celebrate lol
But then the Coaches should show a better example to their kids.
They are kids after all.

What r some good Russian jokes?
I don't know. You have to find em. Ever see a Miracle??
They just keep russian around.
It's understandable cause ...............
------------------------------
In Soviet Russia......pucks hit you.
-----------------------------

At the Olympic men's figure skating tournament in the US, an Irish competitor skated around some classical music in a slightly dull costume , did some excellent jumps but no artistic feel
for the music.
Judges scored : Br.=5.8 Ireland - 5.9 USA - 5.5 and Russia 6.0

Next came the US competitor. His outfit sparkled, He skated to rockinroll music. The crowd clapped .Technically he was not as good as the Irish guy but artistically very good.
The judges score for the US guy??
Br. 5.8 Ireland 5.5 USA 5.9 Russia 6.0

The Brit came out next and his jumps were good but not as good as the US guy.
The Judges gave him BR 5.8 USA 5.7 Ireland 5.9 and Russia 6.0

Finally
The Russian came out wearing a horrible costume old skates tied around his feet.
He tripped as he came out onto the ice and banged his nose which began bleeding. He got up and staggered a few paces and then again fell down. His whole routine was full of spills and falls.
As he made it to the end he was tattered and bleeding getting off the rink.
The Judges scores read:
Br. 0-0 Ireland 0.0 USA 0-0 Russia 6-0

Everyone stared at the Russian judge and asked how can you give him 6-0?

The Russian judge replies : "You gotta remember, it's damn slippery out there."

-----------------------------------
Yup ... Russia's changed or has it when judges are blind to Russia's flaws?
At least he was fair to all the competitors knowing what he was looking for lol
Don't mess with a sober Russian. lol
No more vodka to buy there, after Perestroika, so sober, they come to the US to get a little high lol

Am I bad or what ? lol
-------------------------------------

Well, I am not the only one. A Russian Comedian, Yakov Smirnoff, was truly excited when he came to the US and saw Smirnoff being advertised on bill boards.
He said teary eyed:
Everyone in America loves Smirnoff!!. lol

He said he went to the grocery store and
bought powder eggs, powder milk, and baby powder... and marvelled
...only in America!!

He read the Employment Section of the newspaper where it said:
"Part time woman wanted.
He thought.. What a country ! Even transvestites can get a job!

He was offered a job working as a barman on a grave yard shift and thought...
Amazing country. A bar in a cemetery.
Last call?
During Happy Hour, the place must be dead. lol

Russians!
Love em or hate em, we got to remember, they laugh at Borat too.

------------------------------------------------------

Apart from the sport scene
I have to promote true artists, since the work they do is so time consuming.

This is a site I found with many artists one can click on to see their works.
Some are extremely good.

Have fun.

Canucks vs Calgary Flames

What an exhausting night!!

After watching our poor Team Canada boys loose gold to Russia 5-3, where Russia made 5 goals in the third inning, we watched our Canucks holding onto 3-0 against the Calgary Flames.

Every one was thinking the same thing. Third inning and the same thing will happen to the Cunucks , that happened to Team Canada and boy!!! WOULD THAT NOT BE a good thing lol
It was a hard squeeze but the Flames managed to score one goal just at the end and leave saving face. They have like 20 losses so far and the Cunucks 18 wins.
I understand a season has around 80 games so they have time to catch up.

I don't know who it was more tiring for, the players or the fans who sat under so much pressure, cheering for their home team.

Both teams played so well but someone in the end had to win and someone had to lose.
The Russian boys were ecstatic. This was a major thing for them for many reasons.

Now they don't have to go home fearing Mr Putin who takes losing games quite seriously lol
I loved it when they said they won for Mama but it was not clear if they were talking about their own Mama's or Mother Russia, as Russia was lovingly called. All of them sang the national anthem off tune lol (thought I'd Mention it..... to Mr Putin lol)

Now what gender would Canada be? hmmm
Probably female as would America with her Statue of Liberty.

I guess it was us gals kicking butt in the hockey arena then.
Well, we know how to keep it friendly like lol

On the comedy station one guy criticized Soccer and the yellow cards they give out.
He said what kind of a lame game is that, soccer?

Well , The Cunucks played like the soccer teams do but I noticed, they have shorter plays and change players, like every two minutes, as opposed to soccer players, some of who play both periods without going off and they have longer periods. Soccer is much harder on the body it seems than hockey is. The players are not wrapped up like mummies and still have to play in freezing rain snow and hail.

So it is not a game for pussies, as the comedian suggested. Shows how much he knew about soccer.lol
We also have our fair share of fighting and face demolition but most players keep their front teeth.
Sometimes I think they should force the players to wear helmets in soccer.

Well, I don't know why fans need all this stress but it sure feels good to be a part of a home team.
I watched the games and now feel physically tired and I bet these guys are going to take a shower and head on out to parteee.
Win or lose they are headed for bigger and better times.

and as for soccer? Well we found out it's a sad day for Canadian soccer, as CBC reported Kara Lang had to retire, due to recurring knee injuries. She is our second best Canadian woman soccer player. Well who knows, she might return one day.

Enough sports for one day . Whew!!
Good Night World :)
-------------------------

" We've got the best hockey team in the country unbeaten and no goals scored against us!"
" How many games have you played?"
" The first one's next Saturday."

In court the other day there was a case regarding the custody of a small child.
The judge asked the boy, "do you want to live with your mother?"
He replied, "No I don't want to live with her because she beats me!".
The judge then asked, "Do you want to live with your father?"
The boy stated, "No he beats me too."
Finally the judge asked, "where do you want to live"
The child responded, "I want to live with the Montreal Canadiens!".
The judge asked, "Why do you want to live with the Montreal Canadiens?"
The boy exclaimed, "Because the Montreal Canadiens don't beat anybody!"

St. Peter and Satan were having an argument one day about hockey. Satan proposed a game to be played on neutral ice between a select team from the heavenly host and his own hand-picked boys.

"Very well," said the gatekeeper of Heaven. "But you realize, I hope, that we've got all the good players and the best coaches."

"I know, and that's all right," Satan answered unperturbed, "We've got all the referees."

Three Maple Leafs fans were bemoaning the fact that their team kept losing and might miss the playoffs.
"I blame the manager" said the first, "if he would sign new players then we could have a great team".
"I blame the players" said the second, "if they made more effort I am sure we would score more goals".
"I blame my parents", added the third, " if I'd been born in another city I'd be supporting a decent team!"

Nietzsche's Loss of Hope

I always had a problem with Nietzsche. I found him highly disturbing. I believed for a long time that the man out thought himself to conclude that there was no purpose to life. It ended in death and since there was no after life....
It was said he saw no purpose for existence and so committed suicide. Being so sure, he saw HOPE did not exist.

It doesn't seem that he married but he did get syphilis so must be, he did get it from someone, some where, at some time lol

He did not die of suicide but went mad and got pneumonia, both side effects of Syphilis.

We could say that syphilis, was a slow form of suicide.
People doing things on purpose, knowing the risks they were taking, are reckless and uncaring about life, to put themselves into situations, of this slow form of death.
Slow suicide or attempt at suicide as we know it, is against the law.
This brings to mind drug addicts and what they are doing and what we are doing to stop it.

It is logical to assume that cerebral people live within their heads and so have little use for
sex or other social activities.
They must be very lonely in not being able to find many who they can actually have an intelligent conversation with.
The world to them must seem crude and it takes a strong person to be able to go down to the level of normal folk and enjoy them unless it is for a study. Maybe this is why we enjoy babies so much. We love them and study them and go back in time with them.

Maybe this is also why psychiatrists always tell people they need time for play so they can get away from cerebral thinking or risk going mad.

Children, from day one are taught to be idealists by learning right from wrong.
As they grow older into young men and women, they find out that there is no such thing.
The world becomes gray as right and wrong blend in together.
My son came home and told me of his friend getting an A in a test his teacher gave, for writing two words in an essay, on the existence of a chair. He wrote: "What Chair?"

I explained that if you look at something too close or too far away, it disappears from view. It
doesn't mean that it isn't there.

The problem with Nietzsche is that he worked within a mind with limits.
He was right in his use of the word "Overman", a being superior to man, who would one day take over as we did the Neanderthal man.

Today man discovered DNA and wants to recreate the dinosaur and Neanderthal man and maybe the Over man would want to do the same and maybe so would God.

The fact remains that we will never be perfect, idealistic, have knowledge of truth, be wise, intelligent, or know more about existence than what we know today.

We will never know about the existence or non existence of God either unless he chooses to reveal himself to us.

What God does do, is stop people from doing what Nietzsche did. Nietzsche got lost and more importantly, he lost his hope in life. Mankind and man died within him. He made a cruel judgement decision leaving no room for reasonable doubt and reasonable doubt did exist in his time, for him, as it does for many people today. He just did not see it.

Belief in God, offers man hope . Man asks God to relate to man, when in search of mercy.
Faith in God, leaves man with a future and therefore a purpose for his existence.

By letting go, we free ourselves of the burden of death because God, offers us everlasting life and all the answers to be begot, through him but this does not include suicide because only God has the right to decide when man dies. This is why the 10 commandments includes Thou shalt not kill.

God is not limited as we are. He might be the Overman that maybe
Nietzsche was talking about. Nietzsche meant the Overman to be a superior being, as we are to the Neanderthal .
Nietzsche was trying to find truth, instead of letting go and allowing truth to find him, as eventually, it would have.

Man tries to prove God does not exist but he never will be able to prove it. We are lost in that little piece of space whereby the microscope is either too close or the telescope, too far
away to see, what is significant for us to see or find because we do not see we are part and parcel of the same fabric with different designs. lol

Man using words such as truth, trust, faith, hope, love, honor, would have hope in becoming better people or living better lives.
Life becomes less heavy when you have a brother in another man, to help you.

It would have made the quality of Nietzsches' life much better I am sure to have faith in something his senses could not disclose to him.
He would have come out of his mind and joined a life worth living.
In Joy.

Pieces of Eight

From the 15th Century to the 19th Century, Spanish silver coins or pieces of eight were used as legal currency. They were all made by hand and weighed about 1 oz.

The US used them till 1857 and they were like our dollar today.

What was interesting about them was that they could be cut into 8 pieces to make change as well as quarters.
So if you sold something for two bits it meant 25 cents or quarter of a dollar.

It's unbelievable that the American currency was based on that of the Spanish dollar.
Pirates popularized it by stealing it and traders carried them on their ships to Manila, England and China.

American coins were minted in 1792 but the Spanish coin was preferred until 1857 when it was outlawed.

People knew a quarter as two bits. A dime was a short bit
15 cents was a long bit.
50 cents was 4 bits and 75 cents was known as 6 bits.

N.Y, Stocks were sold in 1/8ths of a dollar until 1997.

Today if you tell someone something is worth two bits, you basically tell them it's worth nothing.

People do not know the history of coins but I think the history is interesting, especially when told by the pirates who fought for trunks full of pieces of eight and to this day it is considered good luck to hammer one into the front of your boat . Luck is probably why the Chinese give children red packets with gold coins on New Years.

So ahoy thar maties argh! argh! argh!
Don't ya be a tryin to cheat me of my two bits of ale nor stealin me treasure map to Captain Blackbeards' Island where he be hidin his pieces of eight.

It's Pirate treasure and pirate treasure it will stay.

The Sky Says It All 1/1/11

Sunset was absolutely stunning from my window yesterday.
Such bright colors and luminous clouds reflecting them, is an artists' dream.

I found this to be a good omen for the New Year and decided to take a photo.

We had no snow to speak of but one can see the roof tops sprinkled and frozen.
The streets are quiet but it seems the stores were all quite busy.

Our Canucks have been kicking butt lately and became so interesting to watch especially when they played the Black Hawks, my cousins' home team. She is so passionate about them and very annoyed when they lose. lol

Today we watched Pittsburg vs the Washington Capitals. Washington won.
The young lady who sang the American National Anthem, did such a fantastic job.
She hit all the high notes so well it was a pleasure to hear her sing.
She is on her way to becoming famous with that voice.

My roast was excellent and we have plenty of leftovers for today. lol
So an easy day for me. :)

The only thing that is not so good is that the day is very chilly and it gets warmer at night.
Go figure.

Husband Down

A husband and wife are shopping in their local Wal-Mart.

The husband picks up a case of Budweiser and puts it in their cart.
'What do you think you're doing?' asks the wife.
'They're on sale, only $10 for 24 cans he replies.
'Put them back, we can't afford them demands the wife, and so they carry on shopping.

A few aisles further on along the woman picks up a $20 jar of face cream and puts it in the basket.

What do you think you're doing?' asks the husband.
'Its my face cream. It makes me look beautiful,' replies the wife.

Her husband retorts: 'So does 24 cans of Budweiser and it's half the price.'
He never knew what hit him.
