2012 Walkabout

It seems the new year has begun its' walkabout and requires new shoes
to protect its' feet. lol
The shoes it chooses to wear will reflect on how well a job it does.

The year predicts a hard economic trudge uphill, which is kinda scary and kinda exciting depending on what stage of life you are in.

But if we in North America, are anything at all, it is people who dig in and go for it.

I listen to the news now with different ears.
You cannot believe anything they tell you
or say anything if you expect people to believe.
The advertising is full of unbelievable notions and falsehoods to buy products which do not work.
So it is important to choose wisely things you need as opposed to fantasies.

We have a scientist who said there is probably life out there in the universe but we can't see it
and as a result, many have lost their faith in science.
Scientific formulas which are good for our system of life and depended upon to be true, do not apply past a certain, very complicated process. There is so much we still do not know and this is why man still has hope and believes in a higher force and intelligence governing over us.

But instead of losing faith in science, we must still push forward to discover more.
One day man might be able to evolve into a modern entity which will not require as much food and will use the energy around him to survive.
It would resolve a lot of the worlds problems today and we need to forge forward
into the universe to learn more about such things.
Man is about learning and growing.
I believe man receives intelligence from a higher source.
It is given to him as the needs increase and it comes from no one source
so as to humble man and keep him equal to another.

Schools need to push towards science and math to make it interesting for kids to want more of it.
We have the opportunity to make this years' walk about a productive one but it requires
selflessness, self discipline and a desire to succeed.

My little New Year needs new shoes
I guess I better start making it a pair :)

Have a great day Every one
and
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

The New Year Kick!

The New Year always needs to kick start with a few new things.
Just because we are aging, doesn't mean we can't look a bit young and trashy lol

Now I love those leg warmers . Even without heals they will slim line any leg.
The leather jacket is just devine, I can see this brightening up the look of every woman added with a new haircut.

I love the fashion bug look for home entertaining
and with catherines you can mix and match the top with different skirts and pants.

The maggie barnes is for the romantic evening out with your loved one.

Makes me wish to take out my sewing machine although for these prices they are very affordable and not worth the effort to make at home unless you like the dresses with a lining, which I do.

Once you shed the old look, the new you, will walk into a brighter future, a new era, the Mayan Calendar set forth for us.

New Year Clean Up

We can begin the new year by developing a new world free of garbage.
This new plastic is biodegradable and safe and the old bags can be melted at home and reused.

If all plastic was made bio degradable, which we know can be done today,
we would not need to worry about our environment.
This includes replacement of all stero foam used for meat packaging.

A great project to promote as a New Year resolution.

:)

I recently asked a friend, "Has your son decided what he wants to be when he grows up?"

"Yes, he wants to be a garbage collector," my friend replied.

I had to think about that one for a moment! "That's a rather strange ambition to have for a career." I finally managed to reply.

"Well," said the boy's father, "he thinks that garbage collectors only work on Tuesdays!"

The Sky Says It All 1/1/11

Sunset was absolutely stunning from my window yesterday.
Such bright colors and luminous clouds reflecting them, is an artists' dream.

I found this to be a good omen for the New Year and decided to take a photo.

We had no snow to speak of but one can see the roof tops sprinkled and frozen.
The streets are quiet but it seems the stores were all quite busy.

Our Canucks have been kicking butt lately and became so interesting to watch especially when they played the Black Hawks, my cousins' home team. She is so passionate about them and very annoyed when they lose. lol

Today we watched Pittsburg vs the Washington Capitals. Washington won.
The young lady who sang the American National Anthem, did such a fantastic job.
She hit all the high notes so well it was a pleasure to hear her sing.
She is on her way to becoming famous with that voice.

My roast was excellent and we have plenty of leftovers for today. lol
So an easy day for me. :)

The only thing that is not so good is that the day is very chilly and it gets warmer at night.
Go figure.
:)

Husband Down

A husband and wife are shopping in their local Wal-Mart.

The husband picks up a case of Budweiser and puts it in their cart.
'What do you think you're doing?' asks the wife.
'They're on sale, only $10 for 24 cans he replies.
'Put them back, we can't afford them demands the wife, and so they carry on shopping.

A few aisles further on along the woman picks up a $20 jar of face cream and puts it in the basket.

What do you think you're doing?' asks the husband.
'Its my face cream. It makes me look beautiful,' replies the wife.

Her husband retorts: 'So does 24 cans of Budweiser and it's half the price.'
He never knew what hit him.
