Blue Lilacs

This would make a nice post card.
The trick is to have brushes that do what they are supposed to.
I hate it when the brushes leave a bristle on the painting
which you then have to smudge off.
I am trying to organize myself outside so I don't have to be uncomfortable
when I paint.
A little sunshine does wonders for the soul.
Patience is a virtue and this is why artists have to have a quiet disposition.
Otherwise, when you rush, you lose the effect you are trying to obtain.
Would be nice to perfect lilacs and mix them in with other flowers but they
do look nice all by themselves.
Painting around the edges really makes it look nice.

Went out to eat today. The girls were waiting at the door and ran out to greet me.
That deserved a treat so I got out the left over chicken and went to sit outside where I
indulged their fancies with pieces of chicken. Even Beau wanted some.
It is gorgeous outside and the parks are full of kids and soccer and basketball.

Circus Magic

Well I won't be playing with this picture anymore.
It is what it is. lol
It's an oops kind of picture, kinda like the
Brittney Spears accident.
I guess it's a throw off of Marc Chagalls, Bellas' Wedding.
It's also under 1917 The Promenade .
This artist loved the color blue.

Weather is beautiful. My plants seem to be reinvigorated after
being transplanted. Now with a little bit of Gods' blessing,
I hope they continue to grow.

Duke developed a fungus on his nose. I think he scraped
it somewhere. So now with drops he seems to be doing better.

Bella continues to be pesty She runs at my sons' beck and call to
sleep with him and then slinks back into her box in the morning
and waits for me to wake up.

I look back at pictures of my beautiful chinchilla and my heart breaks
when I see his happy disposition. I am very angry at that rat that managed
 to slip into my garage.

Hope every one has a happy day.

Spring Fever.

Today was an interesting day.
Got three tomato plants with flowers and one cucumber
plant.
I have so many seeds popping up. If they are all tomatoes
I will need a lot of pots. lol
I can't put them into the yard cause I have
about 20 bunnies running around.

Will be interesting to see what happens this summer.

Painted a small painting today of lilacs.
Hope I can put it up one of these days.
So long since I did anything, I am kinda rusty.

Worshipping Life

My son came home late and was not in the mood for
 cabbage rolls.lol
So more is left for his Father and I.
Bella sleeps with my son and she did not like cabbage rolls either
but my Tanya lapped up two bowls and burped. lol

It is so difficult to get things organized for a new project
So much easier to pick up a crochet hook and a ball of thread
than to get things ready to paint.

It leaves so much mess and clean up to do unless you have a
special place to work in like a work shop.
I am always complaining aren't I? lol

I guess I am kinda feeling anxious, about fixing old things I started.
Easier to paint on fresh canvas. So I sit and analyze and think
how am I going to do this?

I set up one piece on the fixed stand and my husband looked at it and said:
"You know, it looks good just the way it is."
but to me it is not an exciting painting and paintings should be exciting.
That's why many people like a baby's finger painting.
The little geniuses that they are, create fabulous things without even trying.

This painting won't be fabulous but it will set a scene where a person
might want to live and breath. It's a good life.

A few years ago, I went to my sons' high school and they put up all the
paintings kids made on the school walls and I must say I was very impressed.
So much talent out there.
If more schools did this, they could raise the money they need
for every school across the country by setting up art fests.
People could be invited for coffee and doughnuts and to look at/buy art.
They are also good to give away at Bingo fund raisers too.
This is also a good way to get your name out there as an artist.

When my Mom was at the hospital, the geriatrics ward was soo gloomy.
I am sure even the nurses and doctors working there would appreciate nice paintings
on the walls to brighten peoples' souls.
I always said I would do something one day to pay back all the kindness they
showed my Mom when we were there.

Life is full of things to do. Like our Prime Minister said, there is no reason to commit crime
in a country such as ours.
I love our Prime Minister. He always makes a lot of sense.
Criminals have a lot of time on their hands and they can put it to good use.
The Bird man movie with Burt Lancaster is one such example.
I landed on a poetry blog once, that had poetry written by criminals and another one
with poetry written by soldiers. So rare to find so much feeling and soul like in poems
written by people whose souls suffer. Maybe this is why Russia has so many excellent poets
and novelists. But then Vienna came out with beautiful music.
Well enough said.
Have a good one.

Home Holden

My cabbage rolls came out very good.
I am finally getting my paints out.
Found my stand leg broke so I had to tape it up
and wrap it up in thread. Now I have to put glue on
the thread so it does not unravel like the tape does
when it dries.
Will try to work on my old paintings first and then
move on.

Strangers When We Meet

Another T.S Eliot Quote.

“We die to each other daily.
What we know of other people is only our memory of the
moments during which we knew them.
And they have changed since then.
To pretend that they and we are the same is a useful and
convenient social convention which must sometimes be broken.
We must also remember that at every meeting we are
meeting a stranger.” ― T.S. Eliot, The Cocktail Party

This is truly an amazing poet and literary perfectionist.
I just love him.

Designer Diary.

Had to hide my Aloe Vera plant from the rain.
The yard is full of small chickadees .
They did not come for a few years and now they are back.
Nice to hear chirping of so many different birds up in the
cedar trees.

I dont know why some people find it annoying when to me
birds are always music to my ears.

Kisses

This is a nice perfume bottle I got from my kids in a
 perfume basket.
It's small but the perfume is wonderful.
I love the fact Nina Ricci  put 2 loving swans flying over it.
Every time I see it, I want to use it.

I have become a perfume addict and love spraying
some over my pillow before I go to sleep.
Sends me into dreamland in a beautiful field of flowers.

Sometimes I sit and words pop into my head
so I write them down and then they turn into some kind of odd poetry.
But then I think what is there more to say that hasn't been said or felt
or experienced. It's all been said and done.
Then I found  T. S. Eliot at an opportune time, who said:
http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/28570-i-said-to-my-soul-be-still-and-wait-without
I said to my soul, be still and wait without hope,
for hope would be hope for the wrong thing;
wait without love,
for love would be love of the wrong thing;
there is yet faith, but the faith and the love are all in the waiting.
Wait without thought, for you are not ready for thought:
So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing.
Happiness and hope are cognitive skills.
If you sit without thinking, darkness turns into light.
Meditation is something like that.
You can sit and give your brain a break, energize it so
it frees itself of all the bad thoughts.
Crying does the same thing.
It releases all the bad feelings and thoughts and frees you.
Laughter is good but if you sit smiling and laughing all the time,
people begin to think you are odd at best.
So where are the answers?
Well the Bible speaks of divesting yourself of all your possessions because if you don't, there is unspeakable, unsatiable greed out there that is ready to destroy you for it..
Sometimes you look at people who have nothing and actually envy them.
What is it they have that you don't?

Freedom.
No one wants them. No one touches them. No one taxes them.
They live between the cracks and do as they wish. If they stay away from drugs and alcohol, the money social welfare gives them, is enough to keep them going and they dont have to go anywhere. There are plenty of places to go sit amongst the tax payers for free.
We sit and watch CNN and shake our heads.
We receive emails that tells us how we can live well on 7 dollars a day and where.
We watch as huge corporations take over and poison our food and how people are sitting in hospitals on long wait lists especially designed to kill them.
Many ways to kill people.
In the end they say only 144,000 people are needed to continue the human race and the rest are expendable.
Imagine a world of 7 billion people, suddenly left with 144,000.
Lots of freedom will be left but at what cost?
And so you say to your soul wait without hope.
Wait without love.
Have faith and love who are also waiting.
Wait without thought till darkness comes to light
and stillness the dancing.
No matter what you do, in the end, the result will be the same and this applies both to the rich and the poor.
We are all sitting in the same system designed to kill and take over.

What a powerful quote this is.

Happy Memorial Week end.

Small Pleasures in Life

Always nice to have bouquets of flowers to look up at you.
Such a nice hot day.
I took advantage to plant some herbs , tomatoes and a few green beans and
to water the plants just for the fun of it. It's so nice to have greenery around you but
they dry so fast in the pots.
I dont know if I should take in the bulbs of the spring plants now and
use the pots for other things or leave them till the fall.
Could use a large garbage container to fill with water so as not to keep
running in and out for more.
Daily chores are bah humbug as they say.
Grass is growing like weeds too.
Bunnies are all over the yard.
I wonder who they belong to?

The news continues to be horrible.
Seems burkas are a myth and don't keep women safe
in those countries, so why wear them?
Women have to wake up.
It's so distressing to watch news.
People have all gone insane.

I made more squares . Will have close to 100 now.
If I continue like this I will have enough for a multicolored blanky.
I started this because I saw a a bunny sitting on a blanky which looked like
a garden  being all puffed up.
Once they are all made they have to be crocheted around and then I think
sewn together. Easier that way.
These three batches of 8, I crocheted.
I need to do them on the knitting machine so they go faster.
The knitting machine is not like knitting by hand where both
sides look the same.
Then if I want to continue the project, I would need something to place
in between the fleecy backing to sew up.
Then it will look just like the picture except bigger of course.
The picture one looked like it was nice for a doll.
I like to have blankys in the car in winter.

Time to put the other warm blankets away for summer.
Hope every one had a nice week end.

Cloonypit

Now every one talks about brangelina but no one talks about pitcloony.
Sifting through countries I came across an interesting article.

 http://cuencahighlife.com/ecuador-urges-brat-pitt-to-scrap-movie-about-chevron-pollution-case/

Ecuador urges Brat Pitt to scrap movie about Chevron pollution case.

Ecuador has launched a campaign calling for Brad Pitt to scrap a film project about pollution in the Amazon that it claims will help to cover up destruction caused by oil giant Chevron.

Brad Pitt Pitt bid against Cloony and purchased the film rights to Law of the Jungle, a book by U.S. journalist Paul Barrett describing the multi-billion-dollar pollution case between Texaco — since taken over by Chevron — and the Ecuadorean government.

But Rafael Correa, Ecuador’s leftist president, claims the book was published with financial assistance from Chevron as part of an international campaign by the company to “cover up the truth”.
“Now they’ve brought out a book, Law of the Jungle, all paid for by Chevron, in which we look like savages in a country without any separation of powers,” Mr Correa said.

Chevron told Reuters it had no links to the book or film project.......

Will be interesting to see what they make out of all this now.
Seems hardly something brangelina or cloony would be involved in seeing they stand for
the "RIGHT" things in life lol
They have to be careful how they make this movie.

In this case Ecuador liked oil companies but the people don't since they destroy a lot and don't clean up after themselves.
Money from oil, allowed for education and building of infrastructure.
Oil prices went down and Equador had to change its currency to US dollars to survive.
There is constant upheaval over this oil production in the country.
Madagascar also hates oil companies.

http://blogs.reuters.com/felix-salmon/2011/07/05/how-ecuador-sold-itself-to-china/

Equador borrowed billions from China and now has a problem paying it all back.
Means Equador  owes 75% of its oil exports to China to pay
back growing high interest loan it made.

This is how countries get into trouble folks.

Vino of Life

These flowers, regardless of color, seem to be quite popular.
My Mothers Day flowers are still looking fresh, just like the first day
I got them.

The color of this one reminds me or Rose wines which seem to
be quite popular with the young people today, especially in summer.
They go with almost any food and as aperitif.

This wine is made out of many kinds of grapes but mostly red.
They become rose because they take out the skins and solids
out of the juice after just a few hours or days.
Italy is well known for their wines .Italians  hardly drink any water.

I personally like to make sangria using a bottle of red wine, 1 lemon, orange and lime, sliced in wedges, 2 tbs sugar , some orange juice or lemonade, 2 shots of triple sec
1 cup of raspberries or strawberries, 1 can of diced pineapples with juice,4 cups ginger ale.
It makes for a nice punch for guests.

You also have your choice between dry and sweet rose.

Some grape varieties include Grenache,Clairette (an ancient grape),

Chambourin because of natural acids and their resistence to fungal diseases
.
Muscat grapes, Aglianico grapes date back to 735 bc Greece.

Monastrell grapes are high in alcohol and tannins and like limestone.

Cali wines include Charles and Charles Rose Mulderbosch Rose, V. Sattui Gamay Rouge

Other nice ones include Chateau Sainte Marguerite,
Estandon 2012 and Chateau du Galoupet.

Grape vines invite bees and other insects because of their sweetness.
I have a few large pots with vines of both red and white grapes but
if I were to have a field of grapes I would also include  a few bee hives and some
cups for the other insects to get high on . My Dad put beer in cups outside and it took
care of all the bugs  that came to eat his vegetables. They came in droves and died happy.

If you have all these vines, collecting nice fresh leaves to roll with rice and meat
makes for a delicious meal. These leaves can be slightly parboiled and frozen
or salted in jars.

Mmmmm got myself into the wine mood. I mostly stick to Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
but one cocktail goes down well.

You need to mash two strawberries in a pitcher Add ice
Add 3 oz of rose, 1 oz of strawberry vodka, 1 oz fresh grapefruit
and any other syrup per taste, a little bit of sunshine and a warm breeze
as finishing touches and then sit and enjoy a good book while your hubby does a nice BBQ.

Kitty Smarts

Here is another post card I love and kept.
Tabbies are my favorite cats. They are always nice cats.
I don't think I ever had a bad cat.

As cities take more and more control over animals,
it will be too expensive to buy one and to keep one.

Domestic animals will be wiped off the continents
once these animal groups take over and destroy the gene pool.

Kids will not have the pleasure to experience natural
kitten birth.
Cats won't be free anymore and will develop psychosis
and cancers  just like people do, from un natural habitat.

We recently found that these laminate floorings from China,
cause cancer. How many homes today are full of these floors?
How many kids and animals will now die from using them?

Another tid bit in the news talked about the post office offering less
service for more money. They want to stop mail delivery to homes.
I sent an envelope the other day and it cost me 13 dollars.
It never cost more than 3-4 dollars before and now they still want to
raise the price again?
The news comes at a bad time when people need jobs and now 8,000
more post men will be out of them.
Hurts those who also want to fight the email cult to get back to
the art of penmanship.
All these changes,  hurt all of us.

On TV we saw Kramer on Seinfeld , making a coffee table which could be used
as a bed tray.
Coffee tables and book shelves in bathrooms were the in thing once.
If anyone wanted to know what kind of person you were, you were judged
by the kind of books found in your house.
Beer and porn.... showed a very shallow person.lol

Today it is a bit confusing as coffee tables are covered in color charts.
Today on TV all you hear about is what color to paint your rooms in
and so every home is full of charts and maybe marks on the wall to see if this
color will match all the other walls.

Now what can you determine about people if all they are interested in is shallow
color schemes? Sure keeps peoples curiosity in check.
Now art work, paintings, have more to say about people.

It shows they are cultured in art history and know something about it.
Classical paintings portray people who are interested in class, emotion, love, color.

The outdoorsman will have paintings of animals ,lakes, mountains, all over his walls.
So when you  walk into this home, you know a free spirit lives there .

People who love modern art, live in their heads.
Sometimes one can call abstract art childs' play.
There is one person who
gives his child buckets of paint and this 4 year old goes and slaps it onto
canvas, the the painting sells for thousands of dollars.
Another artist spits color onto a canvas.
Other artists roll in it and produce things people really like
You can almost see people judging you on the ink blots you choose to
cover your walls with.lol
There has to be an attraction for it to be bought.
Businesses love modern art but they also use psychology to sell their products.

The above kitty portrays impressionism, freedom, mischief, cubism, and
abstract qualities. This artist tried to hit on many forms of art to attract
a wider clientel.
Smart.

The Lassie/Laddie

Love these daisies and the fact they are perennial and so easy to grow.
Don't ask me about the benefits of tea made from them because there are so many.
Easier to go to this website.

 http://en.heilkraeuter.net/herbs/daisy.htm

I never realized there were so many mens' magazines with so much was going on in them.
Since Germaine Greers' book the Female Eunich (I still have this book)
men have been feeling rather overwhelmed by empowered women and so all these new
male magazines popped up like Nuts, Zoo, Ladd.... dealing with male issues.

I was only aware of Playboy and I always enjoyed reading Play boy especially the jokes.
I  met Heffner once with my Uncle who worked at the magazine.

Apparently people were getting concerned because when they would interview rapists,
they found they all used  rhetoric, from  some of these magazines.
Nuts apparently shut down due to womens pressure groups .
The story goes that these magazines
promoted sex and vicious behavior towards women , normalizing sexism.

http://www.surrey.ac.uk/mediacentre/press/2011/69535_are_sex_offenders_and_lads_mags_using_the_same_language.htm

Thus love, the way women understood it to be, became further  demoted into gutter
trash and todays' woman helps promote this idea as she says her rights are the same as a mans'.
Well ok, maybe they are the same but why exercise that right when women don't need to?
So much classier being a true woman. No woman, needs to debase herself into manhood
to prove a point. We know who we are.

Now I have no objection to the bra burning part and with women having jobs and establishing
some independence from men, because we do have minds, but a woman, is still a woman.
Women can't be men and why would they want to be? Being a woman is wonderful.

That being the case, men should not have any problems when it comes to their manhood.
They just have better, stronger women by their sides, who can become better partners
in love, marriage and as friends. This should make it easier on men, not harder.

I remember when I was young, men always had a scent of cologne mixed with cigarettes and sometimes alcohol. Hair was worn sleeked back, except for Cookie on Route 66.
His hair was free and he always was seen combing it.
I loved it. He was so sexy!

I remember a boy asked me to a school dance once and paid a dollar for the entrance.
He did not know how to dance and kept tramping on my feet.
I accepted 1 dance with another boy and my date came back annoyed that I did that, saying he paid for me.

I took out a dollar and gave it to him. lol Seems this was what was important to him.. the dollar.
I was polite and danced with him in spite of knowing I would go home with no feet, but it was because I was polite, not because he paid a dollar and now owned me. He was not as polite,
not a sign of a gentleman.

Of course when he got home, there was a big discussion with his Mom and sister about what happened that night.  His sister asked me what happened and I told her. Then two women tried to explain it to him and forced him into dancing lessons. lol
Being free, is a womans' right.

Today we don't smell alcohol and cigarettes on men but fashion has them looking into mirrors a lot more than women do.
They worry about things men never worried about before, like balding.
Kojak was loved for his bald head. He looked so manly, powerful, being bald and at the same time, sensitive, walking around with his lolly pop. lol

Some women hate beards. I happen to love them. It makes men look so masculine (but
overly hairy bodies is another issue) .A man should look like a man.
Nothing nicer than to look at a man who feels good being who he is.
It's all about the aura he projects not body size , hair color, tatoos or skin color.

Men stand in front of mirrors checking out their asses and leg forms in pants.
This used to be a womans' job and women don't do as much of that anymore.
They don't fear men and don;t really have a need to please anyone but themselves.
If a man loves them, it should be for who they are, asses and all.lol

Some women wear makeup  others don't.
Today the natural look goes a lot further due to the nature
of a womans lifestyle which involves sports.

So much has changed between Lassies and Laddies and we have to attribute it to
womens' lib groups who brought all this to light.
If men are free, why not women?
They carry as much burden as men do in life.

I recently watched Maureen O Hara . My Dad loved her. She had beautiful red hair.
She said there are many things in life you have to contend with but you have to take it in stride..
In her movies she got good kisses and bad kisses but in the end, no matter who said what to who,
it was all about the paycheck and this was what she was there for.

Well, gotta go. Toodles!

Parc Safari Africain.

We took this picture at Parc Safari Africain in Quebec.
This park was so much fun. There are animals walking freely you
can feed as you ride in your car.

Ostriches, zebras cows buffalo deer....If you have a van,
kids sit in the back with the door open and the animals follow you.
It's the next best thing to going to Africa for the real
safaris.
You have elephant and pony rides,
Animal shows and pools with slides for kids to play in.
I think they also have some carnival rides and cotton candy.
Families can have a truly super dooper day at this park.
I am sure getting a job there is fun as well as nothing is nicer
than to make friends with these wonderful animals.

There were a few times when the animals got out and then all heck
would break loose trying to find them in farmers fields lol
I think such places need to be supported as they help a lot of animals.

There is another zoo called Granby Zoo.
It used to have a bear who just loved to eat.
People would buy peanuts to throw into his mouth, just to see
his blue tongue , a quarter of which was missing.
He'd stand against the cage rails with his mouth wide open
waiting for you.
The cage didn't stop him from loving people and kids would laugh and
 laugh and laugh watching him.
People would buy peanuts just to watch the kids laugh.
It was such a wholesome sound.
That old bear is long gone now. He lived a good life.
Today I made myself some special tea good for the old arthritic bones.

3 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp cloves
2 tsp cardamom
2 tsp ginger
and 1.5 liters of boiling water.

Have enough for a few days.

For high blood pressure nothing is better than tea made of
ground beet and root. Will fix you up in no time at all.
Good for cleaning the blood too.

Apart from that I tried to sketch another painting of the one I lost
Maybe will get enough oomph to actually sit down and paint it one day.
If you have a canvas that looks kinda stretchy in places, turning it over
and spraying some water over the back and then laying it down on a flat surface
so it can dry, will fix that in no time at all. Your canvas will again have a tight fit.

I also learned how to make crayon paint by adding coconut oil to it.
You need a pot of hot water (not too hot to burn the crayon) and three 1/2 tsps of coconut oil per crayon, placed inside, in another glass container like baby jars.
You keep stirring till they liquify and then take out the jar and close the lid.
Then do another color in another jar. Pretty soon you'll have tons of colors to paint with and they do mix.
People make wonderful scenes using a brush with this method of painting on canvas.
1 dollar for crayons and 1.25 for canvas from the dollar store is quite
cheap to have a fun project. They remind you to use old paint brushes as getting the
wax out of them is not easy but as long as things melt, there should be no problem.
I looked up on google some of the paintings people make and they look wonderful.

Have a good one.

Escape To Dreams

I love this post card. Typical cat portraying it's Garfield smarts
in a bed of socks, pillows and why not....a bed of books.
The wise old owl is no competition to a cat with 9 lives.lol
None of my books are on its reading list :(

 Escape Through Dreams

So grim the desert
 Not one blade of grass
Not one green weed to feed the dead
A lonely tomb lost in the sand
Tormented by eternal stars and
Then a flash! a blink!  a light!
A living alter burning bright
A rush ! A vision! A breath of hope!
A soulful prayer called from the heart

And then I fly on a steed of wealth
To live my dreams on a sea of health
To quench my thirst for life and breath
From the tomb I jump to the mystic light.
A Lady's Life.

Mommy's Boy

My boy sent me this card for Mothers Day.
I thought it was so cute I had to put it on line.
Who could resist a face like this? lol

I love cards and keep them for posterity.
I found a box with his and my other sons poems and stories.
Such nice things to look back on.

It was cooler today but my children kept me busy.
Beau managed to go to the front door and barked to be let inside
like a guest. lol

Animals are so funny
They behave more and more like people, so you treat them
more and more like people.

I was sitting at the computer when I saw a wasp crawling
across my chest.
Creepy crawlies. Blah!
I am sure glad he didn't bite me.

Happy Mothers Day

This is Kino my Blue Fronted Amazon.
I raised him from a chick.
As far as babies go, he was exactly like a real baby and
 such a talker too.
They imitate voices cause he sounded just like me.
When our little dog barked at him he'd bark back.

Anyone who came through the front door, he'd greet
with a very pleasant , cheerful : Hi!  How are you?
 and then answer....
I'm fine.
Always made you forget your troubles and put you in a good mood.

Hope every one had a great week end.

Golden Hope

This angel child of mine is ready to party. She looks more like a girl
after the party coming home lol  with her wind blown hair.
She would look nice as a tree top angel.

Vancouver was hot yesterday and will be hot today  as well.
Unemployment rose to over 6% in April.
As usual it is hard for youth to get employed for summer.

I had bunnies running around the back yard last night. Beau went on a 4 hour walk
and when my son brought him home and left right away, he sat by the front door
and howled. When dogs like to be with someone, they hate to be left behind.
Beau loves his walks even though he can't walk long.
The change of scenery is wonderful to him.

When my son came back I told him
and he was amazed as usual. He makes all the dogs crazy and then leaves lol
He calls Bella to sleep with him and in the morning she misses him.
They would sit by the front door all day if I let them, waiting for their
playmate to come home. lol
With my husband and I they just want pats all day and yummies.
Everything is better than dog food.

Our papers are making a fuss over sex education changes in Ontario.
Parents say the schools are going over board with things which should not
concern them. Finally parents are saying
we don't want kids learning about all this stuff.
I agree because this empowers kids to
begin having sex or wanting it and encouraging it at 12 years of age.
Today everything is geared toward instant gratification .

The kids group up and bring in alcohol and then experiment.
Girls begin to have school reputations not just in their own schools but in other
schools and guys show up to make friends with them which angers the guys who grow up with
their classmates.
Education is supposed to stop kids from having sex at that age, not to encourage
it by giving them more info about it they are not ready to handle.
Sometimes knowing less, is a lot better than knowing more.

They should stop it in the media as well. It is not something people should
see so they think it's ok and normal. Even if every one does it, it doesn't mean it's
normal. It doesn't promote a realistic view on how life should be led.
People being social animals, need stability and this means in love as well,
 which sex doesn't provide.
Two wrongs never make a right.
At 12, kids are still babies.

When you see 18 year old boys going to war, you think...
these are babies. Most of them need a good spanking and to be sent to school, not to lose
arms and legs and heads and worse, come home mental cripples for the rest of their lives.
There is nothing worse than to have your child hood stolen from you and at that age,
they think they are invincible.

People after WW2 never got over losing their child hood.
They spent the rest of their lives trying to make up for it and never could.
You can't bring back time but you can relive it with your kids.

When kids would come home and say: Mom you don't know what goes on at school,
my husband always told them that I was extra educated cause I went from kindergarten, to
high school,  3 times. It feels good to have  3 diplomas
 from each class.:)
Only a Mother can brag about that. It gets a bit harder to brag about
university though cause you only experience it once.
Kids do it all on their own without parents.

In north America we don't count our blessings. We expect things to never change
and when they do, we are not happy.
When we were growing up, it was important
to keep kids and adults separate. Kids had their own tables and adults their own so the
conversations didn't mix. It was good cause when adults got into adult stuff, kids
were never exposed.
Today, we hardly ever sit at the table, at the same time.
Every one has different schedules.
It makes for a very stressful family life.

Not only don't you have time to go to church, which reminds you every week to be humble,
kind and family oriented, but families with three kids have to split themselves
three ways to keep up and most families have two working parents or are one parent families.
Jobs are not stable which
also adds to a lot of stress. People lie a lot more about everything. ie where is my package?
It's in the mail........( not...... but you spend a month waiting for it.).

So kids are always growing alone
with out a Mother and Father, nurture time.
Then we complain kids are hyper and feed them pills.

Kids need time out. They need to sleep, read and do quiet things like dig in the dirt, smell flowers,
sit by a camp fire , splash in a river, actually catch a fish (not from a school pool).....clean it and watch it fry in a pan over a campfire, sleep in tents looking at the stars, have adventures in the woods
where they can find bones etc.. like in the Huck Finn stories.

Then kids had lots of homework and today parents yell at teachers for giving homework.
They say they need the family time and that means running around with them so coaches
teach them to break arms and legs and come home with concussions and broken noses.
It also means parents sit watching TV or doing chores, while kids sit with their iphones and
computers. All kind of chatting goes on but not the right kind of chatting that matters.

At that age we were not encouraged to chat so much. Everything could wait and we learned what is called patience, self respect and respect for ones family, which kids today don't learn.
Bullying would not be an issue if kids had less time to chat.
Schools can't teach this. It's something that needs to be practiced at home.
Schools provide loose information. They dump and then the kids are left with it all to handle, alone.

All this points to families being unable to cope and kids lose out having more without actually having
anything of value.
Schools teach them to use gadgets, rather than teaching them to  actually working things out in their heads, which creates the McGiver brain power the world needs.
Imagine if all our gadgets broke down. How will these kids cope without instant gratification??
Could they handle the stress or go straight into criminality drugs and violence to survive?
Imagine millions of people doing this?

Puts sex ed somewhere way back down the ladder of importance.
I mean, sex really doesn't teach one to survive, does it, compared to math and science?

Today parents are very loose at home . Kids come to school and No is not a word they accept.
They say if my Mother and Father think it's ok, then  it's ok.
I would ask these kids to go home and ask their loose parents, if they love them?
Do they know what love is?
No parent who loves a child, would advise it or put it in harms way.
So if a parent says it's ok to smoke, drink, do drugs, have loose sex, party,
use foul language, do crime , act cruelly and violently, this is something every kid
should think about. What is it learning at home?
Today a policeman brings a kid home from an unsafe environment, and the parent tells them to
take it back to where they found it. If anyone says or writes something different, they get their head
blown off. These are our voters ladies and gentlemen. How are we to pass laws and gain
responsible civic minded people to run for politics, if no one votes for the right things?

If a parent is not raising a child as a model example, being the best that a parent can be,
what message does it send a kid? Does it show love? The meaning of love? No.
Then the child has nothing to compare with or show to people it meets to develop true and good relationships with.
Kids learn from home experiences and schools have limits.
This sex ed does not help in developing adults with the moral ethical values needed to raise good societies. We see this just reading comments people put on the net, which clearly are people who
don't know what they are talking about but teach others who know even less.
On tv today we see people which they say are expressing their democratic rights but in actuality
is just plain mob rule due to behavior kids learn growing up in our schools and home life.
When the job is not done right, people die.
So much for school teaching.
I think people would benefit learning responsible parenting, which they get to learn for free at church,
than they would from any sex class at school.
Thumbs down for sex ed changes in schools.

Spring Blessings

Something about the frilly skirt that entices me to make these angels.
This time I added feathers lol
Now that I did a few I don't bother with patterns.
It's like making two doilies, one small and one large.
There is another doily to make up the wings. You fold it in half and
then stick in the feathers
The head is a ball of yarn, with home made hair, and the arms is a cure pipe
wrapped in thread.
I guess you can also make it in cotton thread but I prefer using baby
yarn with a 3.50 mm crochet hook.
If I find my ribbons I might tie one to the waist for color.
It turned out nice enough to display for Christmas.

I saw a brown speckled bunny sitting in our drive way today.
It isn't afraid of cars or people. Usually they come out early in the a m or late
at night but this time it was around 6.pm.

Hope you have a great day.

Bunny Wabbits

When I saw these on the net I could not resist
 making a few.
They are so cute and take next to no time at all
to make.
You can use them for all kind of things like
appliques for hats, and scarves and pin ons for
sweaters or coat lapels.
They make good Christmas ornaments and book marks.

One of my favorite books was Peter Rabbit.
That little fella always got into trouble.

Today I have one looking just like the top one, living in my back yard.
I think she has babies and lives in the black berry bushes.

Yesterday when my husband was cutting the grass she came out to examine
what was going on. She sat there un afraid.
Beau walked beside her and the girls barked and we took pics of her
and she had no problems with it.
She sat there for hours enjoying the sun.
I wish I could catch a few babies to play with.

The wind blew our fence down and Beau found the down part on the other side
of the house and makes his way out to the front of the house to enjoy the street.
Well hubby went out to bring him back and who should be sitting there
 but old Coyote.

He looked lean and hungry and I thought good thing my girls are not out there.
They would make wonderful meals for this fella. Now the fence is down,
what's to stop him from coming into the yard?  Beau seemed to have no
problem with him either. Usually he is not too friendly with other peoples' dogs.
People let them loose and they attack him walking on a leash.

Our neighbor used to have a rooster and hens across the street.
 Don't hear them anymore.
Maybe this tourist found them and now is coming back for more.
I sure hope he doesn't find the bunnies.
It sure is fun living around animals and this is in the city.
Can you imagine?

Exotique!

These lilies are all in my garden.
The orange ones, my Dad had in his garden.
He was very proud of them because they grew with minimum care.
There are many varieties of lilies and apart from looking exotic, they have many
beneficial uses.
The Chinese love them for soups for their starch and for reducing internal heat.
The Chinese say hot tea is better in hot weather to get cooler, than cold water.
The oil from the flower has a subtle aromatic scent people love and use to moisturize their skin.
Bulbs also are full of fiber, sodium, carbs, phosporus, iron, calcium, B1, B2, C.
but they are bad for cats if they ingest them.
Eating roots and herbs from these flowers, helps dilate arteries so it is good
for the heart.
They are used to treat burns and prevents scar tissue.
Other uses include uses in leprosy, angina, stroke, as a laxative, spider bites,
 coughs, sores, wounds, and ulcers.

What an amazing flower.
The water lilies also benefit ponds in that they stop algae from growing by
providing shade.
Lilies also look great as cut flowers  because of the long stems.
I love looking at them as they sway in a welcoming gentle breeze.
They seem to absorb the sun as opposed to people, who try to stay away from
the cancer causing rays.

In Reke Sudan people survive on water lilies
They collect the seeds, grind them and cook them in water to eat.
The UN says 4 million people face starvation because farmers missed the
 planting season .

One can almost picture a story of a Lily kicking up its heals and running away
into the forest, to explore and learn about the world. It seems like a flower
capable of doing just that.

Little White Lily
Sat by a stone,
Drooping and waiting
Till the sun shone.
[11]
Little White Lily
Sunshine has fed;
Little White Lily
Is lifting her head.

Little White Lily
Said: "It is good
Little White Lily's
Clothing and food."
Little White Lily
Dressed like a bride!
Shining with whiteness,
And crownèd beside!

Little White Lily
Drooping with pain,
Waiting and waiting
For the wet rain.
Little White Lily
Holdeth her cup;
Rain is fast falling
And filling it up.

Little White Lily
Said: "Good again,
When I am thirsty
To have the nice rain.
Now I am stronger,
Now I am cool;
Heat cannot burn me,
My veins are so full."

[12]
Little White Lily
Smells very sweet;
On her head sunshine,
Rain at her feet.
Thanks to the sunshine,
Thanks to the rain,
Little White Lily
Is happy again.

Ten Bucks

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coffeestainstudios.goatsimulator&hl=en

I don't play many games but here I am ... playing.
I loved this game but felt sorry for the poor goat.
It looks like a lot of fun.Could have done without the long tongue though.
I probably would have him eating grass in my back yard than going through
all he is going through.. lol
The game costs 10 dollars to buy

Lovely bright sunny day today.
