Trends of Life

I really love how Larry painted this picture with the snow coming down the mountain slope.
It looks like a typical misty snowy day up in the hills as the day comes to an end and it gets a lot cooler. The buffalo at rest are wary of bystanders.

It makes me wonder how, in the olden days they could shoot through the thick hide and through all that fur especially from a train. If you ever tried to push a buffalo out of the way, you would find it is easier to push a brick wall out of the way. They are powerful and handsome beasts.

Many legends have been written about them by the Indian people and I would have loved to live back then and travel along side them to see exactly how they lived and survived.

I only know one buffalo that fell asleep after putting his head through my car window, listening to classical music. It lulled him to sleep and he was as happy as could be just to stand there.
He was the one I would have loved to take home. :)

---------------------------------------------------------------

Which trend should I follow?
Which way should I go?
The questions are brief with no answers.

My time verses youth
And my age verses time
And my life seems so brief an encounter.

A life saves a life
But a life must be born
through a love that burns hotter than coal
But time verses youth
And my age verses time
And my love burns
On glory survived.

Buffalo Lesson
A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo, much like the brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells.

The slowest buffalo are the sick and weak so they die off first, making it possible for the herd to move at a faster pace. Like the buffalo, the weak, slow brain cells are the ones that are killed off by excessive beer drinking and socializing, making the brain operate faster.

The moral of the story: Drink more beer, it will make you smarter.

------------------------------------

Three men were flying on a plane over the jungle when it crashed. They were the only people who survived. They decided that starting the next morning one of them would go out and make weapons and see if he could kill anything.

So the next morning the first man went out. He didn't come back till about noon. When they saw him they ran to him and helped him carry the deer back to the plane wreckage. They asked him how he killed it.

He said "I find tracks...I follow tracks...I kill deer."

So the next morning the second guy set out. He too came back at noon. When they saw him they ran to him and helped him carry the buffalo he had killed back to the plane wreckage. They asked him how he had killed it.

He said "I find tracks...I follow tracks...I kill buffalo."

The next morning the third guy went out. The other two were watching and watching for him. When it was almost sundown and he still hadn't returned they started getting worried. Then they saw a person stumbling towards them he looked awful, really bad cuts and a broken arm. They went and helped him to the fire they had made and asked him what had happened.

He said "I find tracks...I follow tracks...and...I got hit by a train."

I like the Larry Fanning paintings you've showed in these last two posts. I also enjoyed the story of the three hunters.
