The Lady Thatcher Rose

This bud came out of the planter for the passing of Margaret Thatcher
today.

What a sad day it is.
It was supposed to be a black rose cause that's why they charge you the mega bucks,
for the color but it doesn't look black does it?
Where is the BLACK BACCARA?
I need to call the store and ask them why they charge so much for a normal colored rose.

However maybe it not being black, is a good sign considering we lost a great lady.
She did a lot for England at a time when people were all yelling in the streets.
Liberalism is not all what it's cracked out to be when there are no jobs
and people are hungry.

After her stroke, she was left to herself.
To live alone but I hope not to die alone.

This woman made a difference to England and to the world
She led a very interesting life,.
It was always a pleasure to see her on TV yelling "NO!"
It was nice to watch her and the Queen.
Two great ladies of England.

It's funny. In public life, people chase you, hound you, never yield to
give you an inch of peace and then in private life they forget you,
like you never existed , until the day you die.

They will give her a military service but who comforted her
when she was still alive and ill?
Who came to her door to say thank you for all you did?
Probably no one.
---------------
Well it's a week And I still have a stiff neck
It's difficult to turn left and right.
That's what I get for going to sit outside for a whiff of fresh air. in spring. lol
Today I put some A535 on it and boy did it sting.
Maybe it will help un stiffen it and put me back into good humor.

Hate to complain for stupid things. lol
The sun is out and this should cheer me up.

Have a good one.

I doubt that we'll ever see a leader like Margaret Thatcher again.

Yes George - A great Lady indeed with a lot on her plate.
She did a great job.

Margaret Thatcher was a colleague and confidante of President Ronald Reagan. Imagine the stories that they both could tell us, and imagine what she could tell us about his thoughts on the passing issues. Her book is coming out now. Maybe we can find out something.

Lorna they were interesting times for sure.
I would love to read her book.

That's a beautiful rose. I was no fan of Thatcher, but I sure respect your point of view. Thanks!

I'm not a fan of Thatcher, but I will admit I do like watching videos of parliament in action. It's so direct and confrontational. C-SPAN (congress on TV) here is just boring.

Sandy I think she was a great woman. You need to read her story.
It's amazing. She was alone in a room full of men who thought she didnt belong.

Adam I used to like watching parliament in action and then one day I saw the light and it turned me off.
I still think you have to keep an eye on the people who govern because and more so on the people who elect them.

She certainly was a very intelligent women and did quiet some good things, but the majority of the British people didn't like her very much and she wasn't appreciate at all in the European Union, because she was against it ! Therefore no national funerals as they did with Churchill.

I wasn't aware that she passed on. I recently watched a documentary about her life. It was great. I admired her strength... I think the pink rose is appropriate...

A Lady's Life said...

Diane I agree.

Gattina I think she was right not to support the European Union.
If you are a country then be a country .
You can't have 50 governments and expect things to work out.
Any one who believes this should be suspect in being involved in some other hanky panky.

If it wasn't for MT giving council tenants the 'right to buy' we probably would never have owned our own house. She did sort out the mess that Labour left though she made some monumental blunders i.e. The Poll Tax.

Akelamalu -

Thatcher had a lot on her plate plus the added problem of being a woman to hold all these men together.
You can't expect 100% out of anyone but she did well considering all that was against her.
