One thing I loved about Asia was their roosters.
There were so many of them, all so colorful, free and bright,
blending into a peaceful and oh so quiet farming environment.
It reminds me of an old fable which applies to todays' world.
I believe this fable was written by an author named Krilov.
A rooster came upon a pearl in a yard compost mound.
Amazed, he cried out: What's this?
It has no use for this world.
What fools men are to treasure such tough grains that no one can digest.
Now Barley.. does not shine so much....... but fills the stomach.
Decide..........Which is best?
Upon reflecting, we find often in the world of men,
a fool deems useless, what he cannot understand.
Wise words.

I agree with the rooster :-)
It's strange the things we humans value, and even worse what we don't. Putting possessions before people, and money before life.
I think this fable is one that will keep on giving...the more you think about it, the more profound it becomes....
Pearls, rubies, gold - don't sit well on an empty belly.
Thanks Guys:)
After the war immigrants like my Dad came to North America with only one thought. They were never going to be hungry again.
So they worked to build, to eat.Unlike a rooster who only walks around eating all day, people, then, would have loved to have one pearl to sell to buy more grain or seeds to plant. Unfortunately some people get pearls and hoard them and never sell them for grain or seeds even when people around them are hungry.
Dictators are like those people.
Sometimes I wonder.
With all the taxes we pay, what would happen, if the government shared with each citizen of their land, 1 million dollars from the taxes they collected. If all people got 1 million dollars.....
We would not have poverty, homelessness and people would all own homes become entrepreneurs and build and create pay taxes again. We would not need banks except to invest in GIC 's etc...
Certainly would change life and living and they would only have to do it one year.
Now that is something to ponder.
:)
That is a very wise rooster.
Thanks George lol
