Hello Ducky

These are two duck feather filled throw pillows, in black pillow casings.
I crocheted the tops and sewed them onto the pillow covers.
They took less than a day to make one.
My son couldn't wait for them to be finished.
I have no patience right now for long projects,
so I was happier than he was to finish them lol
Got rid of all the left over thread.

Well there is always more to get rid of as the process never ends.
I think they turned out nice and my boy will enjoy them on his bed.
What are Mothers for eh? lol
It's wet outside and dull so they do give you a little boost of cheer.
Have a nice day :)

They look very colorful and nice !
My son and I don't have the same tastes at all. In his house it's all grey and brown (that's the fashion) and in my house it's all red and orange, lol !

Thanks Gattina
My boys always like it when I make them something. Its hand made by Mom so it is special. When I got married I made my husband a shirt and he still wears it. I also bought him a sweater and he still treasures it.
Sentimental things you know. Meaningful only to you because of the person who gave it to you.

They came out beautiful Lady's Life!! I used all of my scrapes last year when I made an afghan for my son for Christmas. It was big and took forever!!!
I try to stick to smaller projects now too. I made five pairs of fingerless gloves for family and friends, those were easy.
My oldest daughter wants a pair of crocheted toe sandals. I don't have a pattern so will have to wing it, but it looks pretty simple.
I loved the colors you chose, just gorgeous! Love Di ♥

I really like the tops you've made for these pillows. I can understand why your son was eager for you to finish them.

My grandmother used to make pillows. I wish I had asked her for one.

Life 101 I have a few things my grandmother made and I treasure them :)

Totally outside my scope! But I can appreciate! Very well done! I am in awe of anyone who can take what amounts to a long piece of string and loop it through itself in such a way that they create colourful patterns and actual usable articles. My hat's off to you!

Diane - It's easier than you think.
It just looks hard. lol

Women have always been doing stuff like this.
I especially love the stories when they gathered in a home in winter and helped make a quilt.
6 ladies come for tea and before you know it, you have a quilt.I guess if you have 6 ladies and you donate an hour here an hour there for each one, you can have 5 quilts made in no time at all.and what a nice way to spend an evening beside a crackling fire, looking at the snow fall outside.
I love to keep the afghans in a car in winter for the kids.
