Up Driving Age

MSN.com - May 31 2012 - Annette McLeod - Driving Miss Crazy
  Re: Upping Driving age

I disagree. I think kids should get their drivers licenses early so they drive more with parents.
I see so many middle aged adults who have no business on the road seeing they don't see
a car beside them, when changing lanes.
So attacking other age groups is not right.
I also really dislike people doing drugs, feeling it does not help their driving skills.

You can't protect kids any more than you can protect adults, some of who never grow up.
So upping the driving age will only create more, less experienced, drivers on the road.
Experience is obtained through driving.
Kids are sponges when they are young so put them out there, teach them and drive with
them, so you know they learn the right things, they will carry with them all their lives.

Also, people disagree,  but ethics morals and values, create a person, more sensitive
to other peoples rights as opposed to Anne Rands' me myself and I attitude.

So Annette is a young Mom, with a lot to learn.
Probably someone out there thinks the same thing about her driving skills.
 Maybe her Mom? lol

Hello Ducky

These are two duck feather filled throw pillows, in black pillow casings.
I crocheted the tops and sewed them onto the pillow covers.
They took less than a day to make one.
My son couldn't wait for them to be finished.
I have no patience right now for long projects,
so I was happier than he was to finish them lol
Got rid of all the left over thread.

Well there is always more to get rid of as the process never ends.
I think they turned out nice and my boy will enjoy them on his bed.
What are Mothers for eh? lol
It's wet outside and dull so they do give you a little boost of cheer.
Have a nice day :)

Call of the Wild

Seems the old masters captured horses at the peak of their lives.
They seemed full of life with muscles rippling, noses flared and running free.
To capture such a horse in pictures attracts every human who is nurtured by the strength and power of this magnificent creature who could tear you through plains and fields on what seems like nothing short of
angel wings.
Horse and rider glued together as one.
You hear stories of derbies being won by fast horses and by the thrill seeking riders who ride them giving their all.
Some end up, like the horse, in tragedy, broken for life and or dead.
But the pictures foretell of what could be.
They foretell what hard work and perseverance could result in.
Absolute excellence!

HOME

LA's fine, sunshine most of the time
The feeling is laid back
Palm trees grow and the rents are low
But you know I keep thinking about
Making my way back

Well, I'm New York City born and raised
But nowadays, I'm lost between two shores
LA's fine, but it ain't home
New York's home but it ain't mine no more

I am, I said
To no one there
And no one heard at all
Not even the chair
I am, I cried
I am, said I
And I am lost, and I can't even say why
Leavin' me lonely still

Did you ever read about a frog who dreamed of being a king
And then became one
Well, except for the names and a few other changes
If you talk about me, the story's the same one

Home is where the heart is................. so here I am  :)

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

Once upon a time, a beautiful, independent, self assured princess happened upon a frog in a pond.
The frog said to the princess, "I was once a handsome prince until an evil witch put a spell on me.
One kiss from you and I will turn back into a prince and then we can marry, move into the castle with my mom,
and you can prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children and forever feel happy doing so."

That night, while the princess dined on frog legs, she kept laughing and saying,

"I don't think so."

Wonder How Charlie Sheen Does It?

Hmmm I always eat when I drink, because I don't want alcohol to destroy my liver.
(Obsessive compulsive???)

In fact people who go out to drink heavy, coat their stomach with butter so as not to get drunk.
( I remember this well from my kid days when my cousin did it.)

I guess you either gain weight when you drink and eat or
drink straight on an empty stomach
and get ulcers  or liver damage.

Best to do a little of everything and not too much of anything.

But ......what a lesson, explained by such a handsome guy!!! :):):)

Makes me feel once ... twice... three times a lady.

----------------------------------------------
I went to the doctor for my yearly physical.
The nurse started with certain basics.
"How much do you weigh?" she asked.
"135," I said.
The nurse put me on the scale.
It turns out my weight is 180.

The nurse asked, "Your height?"
"5 foot 4," I said.
The nurse checked and saw that I only measure 5'2"

She then took my blood pressure and told me that it is very high.
"Of course it's high!" I screamed, "When I came in here I
was tall and slender! Now I'm short and fat!"

She put me on Prozac.
What a bitch.

don't do the laundry right now!!!!"
yadda, yadda, yadda, C'MON
yadda, yadda, yadda, YOU AND I

yadda, yadda, yadda, NO CLOTHES

Delightful Palette

This was fun to make
I toasted 6 inch, thinly sliced french bread in the oven with butter and garlic
Then I put thinly sliced eggplant , thinly sliced tomato , oregano ,
with shredded cheddar cheese topping, over each piece.
I put it into a pyrex dish and covered it with aluminum foil and let it bake till the eggplant was tender.
A good hour - hour and a half on 390 degrees
It was  sooooooo good!!

Now I'm thinking to blend water with parsley, enough to give it a vert tinge and drink that as a boost me up drink.
I guess I can add a few mint leaves and maybe even a leaf or two of spinach.
Makes for a nice drink to carry around with you.

Summer Splash!! Here I come !!

Jane had a system for labeling homemade freezer meals. She would carefully note in large clear letters, "Meatloaf" or "Pot Roast" or "Steak and Vegetables" or "Chicken and Dumplings" or "Beef Pot Pie."

Everyday when she asked her husband what he wanted for dinner, he never asked for any of those meals. She decided to stock the freezer with his various requests. What he really likes.

In Jane's freezer you'll see a whole new set of labels. You'll find dinners with neat little tags that say: "Whatever," "Anything," "I Don't Know," "I Don't Care," "Something Good," or "Food."

No more frustration for Jane because no matter what her husband replies when she asks him what he wants for dinner, it's there waiting.

Bud and Jim were a couple of drinking buddies who worked as airplane mechanics in ATLANTA.
One day the airport was fogged in and they were stuck in the hangar with nothing to do.
Bud said, "Man, I wish we had something to drink!"
Jim says, "Me too. Y'know, I've heard you can drink
jet fuel and get a buzz. You wanna try it?"
So they pour themselves a couple of glasses of high octane hooch
and get completely smashed. The next morning Bud wakes up and
is surprised at how good he feels. In fact he feels GREAT!
NO hangover! NO bad side effects. Nothing! Then the phone rings...It's Jim.
Jim says, "Hey, how do you feel this morning?"
Bud says, "I feel great. How about you?"
Jim says, "I feel great, too. You don't have a hangover?"
Bud says, "No, that jet fuel is great stuff - no hangover, nothing.
We ought to do this more often."
"Yeah, well there's just one thing..."
"What's that?"
"Have you farted yet?"
"No....."
"Well, DON'T, 'cause I'm in PHOENIX!!!"

A cop was sitting in his car outside a bar waiting for the drunks to come out. Sure enough a very drunk man soon staggers out. He stumbles around putting his keys into different cars until he finally find his. He gets in and fumbles around some more trying to get the car started. The cop watches him and soon the lot is empty and they guy is still trying to start his car. They guy finally gets the car started so the cop stops him and gives him a Breathalyzer test. It reads 0.0. The cop is stunned and asks they guy how can you be so drunk and get a reading of 0.0. The guy answers "Because I'm not drunk. I'm the designated decoy."

Arnica Flowers

Now these are flowers I see often in the wilderness.
Apparently you can find cremes made from them to use for joint pain.
It is supposed to be as strong as ibuprophen.
I was told Ibuprophen destroys the liver and is not good for you
to take internally, daily.

So I guess I will look to see if I can either buy some creme from the natural food store
to see if it works. My knees have become painful from all the wet weather we have here in BC.
If it does, I may go on a crusade to collect them and try to make my own cremes.lol

Dandelions, another weed we kill, is required for our dwindling bee population.
Honey, has extreme benefits for the immune system
It is also very healthy for people as it's full of anti oxydents.
Great as an anti inflammatory and for the spleen and liver, it's
rich in calcium, chromium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, selenium, silicon, zinc
Eat the leaves fresh in salads or boil them.
I remember our Italian neighbors used to grow huge dandelion crops in summer.
Clip off the yellow flower blossoms and cook them:
1 cup milk , 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 egg, 1 cup flour,  pinch of pepper,  Dandelion blossom,  shot of cooking oil

Wow!

Now I've become a weed eater lol

Chick weed and clover tea is also great as an anti cancer  brew.

So now you have tons to do this summer out on the plains of our great and beautiful country.

Fiddle On the Wild Side

Yesterday I made chile for my husband since he loves beans and lentils
but for my son I boiled spinach.
It's funny how I used to boil spinach before and he refused to eat it and now he demands to eat food with no oil butter or salt.
This creates a lot of trouble for me because my husband can't get enough oil butter and salt. lol
So it seems I have to go back to my Mom's way of cooking . She steamed everything and if you eat on time right after its cooked, it's all delicious.
Lately I find chicken meat to be utterly tasteless. It tastes like rubber which makes me think it's not very healthy to eat anymore.

So I keep looking for variety and  yesterday, I came across fresh  fiddle heads.
Boy was I excited!
It makes me feel like Granny from the Beverly Hill Billies :)
My girlfriend showed me how to pick them in the wild in spring, off of ferns.

So now I say I should make a garden of ferns to get these delicious bits which are sooooo good boiled and then fried in melted butter.
We had a nice little batch of them last night between my son and myself.
I told him he should try them so he knows what it is.

Another so called weed from the artichoke/ aster dominion, is Cardoni

My sister in law and I used to go into the fields and collect them from the wild.
It doesn't pay to grow them in a garden because they take a lot of space. They look like rhubarb and you just cut the stalks from the bottom of the plant.

These you dip into flour and bread crumbs and fry. They become crisp like fries.
So delicious.
I haven't collected them in a long time and need to visit my sister in law so we can again go into the field and get re acquainted with the plant.lol
My son should have another learning experience.
The kids know nothing today in how to survive from wild plants,
otherwise known as weeds lol

Not exactly cheese cake but hey....... ya gotta eat eh? lol

How Sweet It Is.

At the Felicos, Greek Restaurant in Richmond, we were treated
so well.
Not only was the Maitre D so helpful and funny but he was also so sure
of the food presented in his restaurant.

We loved it and smacked our lips at every bite, of a wide variety of food.
The famous Greek Salad, lamb, squid, sultry shrimp, spinakopia, moussaka, and I forget what else.
Mango lassi made of yogurt and mango was delicious
and the cheese cake was devine.

The Irish Coffee that followed was soo good and generous,
but I thought I better not drink it since it looked like I was going to be the driver. lol
So my husband enjoyed two tall cups while I enviously watched.lol
My son shared in the cherry on top of a huge whipped creme topping.

My son will always be my baby and as I saw him eat the cherry,
I saw the little boy in him I so miss.
I had my share of this great coffee, the next time we went out
when there was no driving involved.

Cheese Cake.

Is there a more decadent beautiful tasty piece of desert one could have?
It's only followed  by Napoleon Cake with its' rich custard.
MMMMM.

Hope you have a wonderful place like this to enjoy by your house.
Since I've been home I made lassi drinks almost every night out of
yogurt  strawberries and bananas with a tad of honey
What I nice refreshing drink to have watching tv at night.

This is a video you will enjoy a lot from BBC

The Orchid Difference.

A friend of mine confused her Valium with her birth control pills... She has 14 kids but she doesn't really care. The nice part about living in a small town is that when you don't know what you are doing, someone else does.

. The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight, because by then your body and your fat are really good friends..

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today...

Sometimes I think I understand everything, and then I regain consciousness.

I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together and setting fire to my panties.

Amazing! You hang something in your closet, for a while, and it shrinks 2 sizes!

Skinny people irritate me! Especially when they say things like...'You know sometimes I forget to eat!' .....Now, I've forgotten my address, my mother's maiden name, and my keys, but I have never forgotten to eat.. You have to be a special kind of stupid to forget to eat! .

The trouble with some women is that they get all excited about nothing -- and then they marry him.

I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are eating too much, impulse buying, and driving too fast. Are they kidding? That's my idea of a perfect day!

Today I am making Shepherds Pie with BBQ chicken
My boy came home from Penticton  tired and hungry. They had a lot of fun at the camp ground which was surrounded by grizzly bears eating what looks like grass. He said the camp itself had many deer. They went swimming, ate at local Subway and other quick places and cooked at the camp ground. They also went swimming.
Sometimes I wish I pushed him more into piano but he always loved soccer.
They won the tournament so he was very happy.

lol
have a good one

http://www.chfi.com/files/Happy-Victoria-Day.jpeg

Today we celebrate a National Holiday while Queen Elizabeth celebrates her jubilee. We have her oldest son visiting Canada in her name while her other children and grand children are visiting other countries. Quebec doesn't like the Monarchy because it reminds them they lost the war so they changed the name to Patriots Day.
It is kinda funny because we can say: Yes. It's nice to be patriotic that England won the war and as a result we ended up as Canada, separating the north from the south. It's all much ado about nothing. We are Canadians and Quebec should just stop bickering and enjoy it. When it comes to money, they have a Quebecer, Monet, drawing the Queens portrait with toothbrushes. He likes her, So she can't be that bad. lol

In Quebec they are still suffering riots by students who are against rising education costs. And in Chicago , the NATO meeting is also suffering riots by people who are against war. We are paying the costs while someone is making tons of money. Why bother with face book in the stock market, when the money is in bombs and bullets?

It is a shame that only a handful of people are doing the job we all should be doing, telling our leaders to cut social costs and not put our nations into such dire need that we cannot afford to live anymore. They say yes to everything to gain votes and then put us all in a hole. Our Queen Elizabeth keeps a tight ship. She does not squander money as her daughter in laws told the world, And every one loves her anyway. So why should our leaders throw money they don't have, away, just because they can?
Furthermore, Islam is not a religion as it claims to be. It is not for peace and love. It is a cult founded by a warrior, supporting the male world. It reminds me of Harry Potter where U NO WHO's name could not be uttered and we all know why.
FEAR.
Why should people live in fear? Today males, in Islam, are fighting for their rights to rule, while in free countries, women have as much say in everything as they do. England did not do bad with a Queen as head of state. She conducted her life as a true monarch should and did not disgrace her stature as the future King of England has.
He will reign more like a stain than King, in her absence, proving that all men are the same and can be swayed to do anything, by just about anyone. He is no Maggie Thatcher, the Iron Lady, who knew her mind and what was good for England.
So today, Victoria Day, I raise a glass to our Queen Elizabeth. May she live long,in health, and happiness

She is a good royal and will leave a lot of good memories, for us to remember.
 God Bless the Queen.!!

Herman Zheng
Base stone of China

Emperor Qui unified China and built the Great Wall
Herman  sees the terracota army as a symbol of the Chinese nation
representing the ordinary people in the lower social class and creator of history
Every warrior symbolizes the base stone that forms the Great Wall forever and supports it.

(This is what is written at the base of the statue.)

I can't help but think of the movie with Brendan Fraser in
The Mummy Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
That was an exciting movie

Have a happy Victoria Day Week End. :)

A Man Goes To See The Rabbi. "Rabbi, Something
Terrible Is Happening And I Have To Talk To You About It."
The Rabbi Asked, "What's Wrong?"
The Man Replied, "My Wife Is Poisoning Me."
The Rabbi, Very Surprised By This, Asks, "How Can That Be?"
The man then pleads, "I'm telling you, I'm certain she's poisoning me,
what I should do?"
The Rabbi Then Offers, "Tell You What. Let Me Talk to Her,
I'll See What I Can Find out and I'll Let You Know."
The Rabbi Calls after a while And Says, "Well, I Spoke To Her For
Three Hours. You Want My Advice?"
The Man Said "Yes."
The Rabbi Replied, "Take the poison."

Sweet Cherry

A sweet cherry on white linen
So delicate
               So simple and
                   So Perfect.

I was so glad to find this treasure so I could capture it on film.
The aging leaves hide it's elegance
Taking the brunt of natures' toll on beauty.

Beauty ....found on the inside
So Delicate
         So Simple
                   So Perfect

One could look at it and never tire.
Caressed by life
One also ages but never tires
The strong will to live to see another day
Feel another ray of sunshine upon ones' skin
Touch the velvet of an ebbing wave,
Powerful enough to crush and
Crumble the strongest stones to sand.
Powerful enough to raise new life
So simply and so perfect
To leave one in utter dismay
Safe, on the inside
Where the brunt
 Of natures' suffering
Is found.
A Lady's Life.

Flags in the Wind

While standing on the pier the wind picked up.
The flags began to flap sooo hard.
I thought someone was shooting overhead and that the pole was about to fall on my head
It was scary. It lasted just a few seconds but sent the message
that Mother Nature was in charge.
At this rate I wonder how long these flags would last.
We would benefit from electric generating windmills at this rate.
This is an inlet and not open into Georgia Straight.

We caught the end of tulip season.

And more of airplanes flying so close we could almost reach up and touch them. The International airport is in Richmond and they come in almost every 5 minutes to land.

Perfect Day

The end of one perfect day.
Beautiful sun setting on the horizon.
A calm waterfront.
All the river coasters, put to sleep for the night .

The planes flew overhead every 5 minutes and left a shadow over the water.
It was awesome.

Another shot of the waterfront inside a valley surrounded by mountains.

The band played old tunes and sang old songs.
There was an old woman celebrating her 101st birthday and she told the band leader she saw his band in 1938
He laughed and said he was a lot younger then Now he is also a ripe young age of 94.
But he still played the sax and sang so well you wouldn't know he was that old.

Robin Williams is supposed to perform  there on June 8th.
And Whoopi Goldberg maybe in August.

(A Lady's Life)
Every Mom received a carnation compliments of the River Rock Casino.

This is me jumping into the River Rocks Penis shaped pool
That's right.
I blinked too. lol

After doing a few laps I did the pirouette

and every one clapped because I did it so well lol.

They loved my shapely form.lol

But seriously.
Lots to be seen here and to do for the whole family.

This is a sculpture of the Water Dragon by Kevin Stone outside by the
waterfront of the River Rock Casino, Richmond BC.
We spent Mothers Day there enjoying the sun and sea as well as the
wonderful buffet dinner they had  for us Moms.

I really thought this was a magnificent sculpture truly depicting what a water
 dragon would look like.
I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful week end like I did .

Happy Mothers Day Week End!!

Woke up to a BEAUTIFUL SUNNY WARM Saturday.
 PERFECT FOR MOTHERS DAY :)

It feels like Spring and closer to an end of another school year.
I pass by my Son's elementary and high school which are now filled with new Moms and new babes.
Looking at their faces,
It makes me smile remembering I was once one of them.
It all passes like a dream.
Just sitting thinking about all you were, all you did, all the weight and responsibility
over your head, is simply strange now looking back.
It was a lot of fun growing and regrowing alongside all the children.
A Mom, depending on how many children she has, graduates from elementary and high school over and over and over again.
She is what now can be called a professional graduate. lol
The schools haven't changed. They still have the same advertisements outside
telling people  what is going on inside.
I hope all the kids writing exams right now do well and wish them all the best.
and to the the new up coming graduates,

 WELL DONE GUYS!!

It feels good to step out of the Public system into your own life, decision making and living.

I am looking forward to enjoying my family this week end
and to absorbing more of natures love.

I wish all the Moms A very Beloved Week end.
:):):)

Happy Mothers' Day!!!

A Day in the Life......

Today was a beautiful hot day!!!!!

We went out to do some errands and enjoyed this view from Fraser Heights.
This is from a hilly street, looking down into the valley and as you can see, everything is green and lush again.
Some of the mountains have more snow on them.
Last time I could hardly see any snow at all.
There was a fresh breeze blowing in from them .
I came home in a good mood.
My son and his friend were hungry so I quickly made them steak with onions and mushrooms, broccoli and fries.
They ate and went to get haircuts and to get me my dog and cat food.
I just noticed I put the wrong year down for the picture lol
I wonder what kind of Freudian slip this was lol
I noticed that the traffic is certainly increasing and new buildings are popping up everywhere.
We are slowly losing our Beautiful BC to traffic and people and crime.

Just to think that even where we live, close to the Alex Fraser Bridge, there are bears, coyotes and wolves that still appear. When my second son was little, he and his Dad went in the bog for a bike ride when three huge wolves came out onto the path. My husband grabbed my son and high tailed it out of there.
Another time a mangy coyote followed my son quietly into the school area with his eye on our
little dog.
A jogger told my son he was being stalked  so he grabbed his little dog and ran away from the coyote.
We don't go out much now anymore as a result of this.
You don't want to fight with hungry wild animals.

Today in the news, someone in Quebec was putting used syringes, needle up, with blood in them, into pockets of pants and shorts in 5 stores. Zellers was mentioned.
A few people picked themselves with them and now are afraid of getting aids.

Another bit was about three bears being killed for eating sheep

and the third bit was about a Russian plane hitting a mountain in Indonesia killing the 55 people aboard.
They were executives and potential buyers of this plane. lol
Nice going Russia !!! lol

Well now I made spaghetti and meat sauce for my guys  and they are hungry again
Seems they have holes in their stomachs lol

Hope you all had a great day!!!

So Silent

Beethoven so cleverly put together this piece Silencio.

You have to appreciate where his mind went during the composition of such beautiful melodies.
You could see and read his mind or get in touch with the melody in your own heart.

You look at the world and it is fighting, scrounging, unscrupulous, undevine, losing its' soul every day
in pettiness and then you hear this.
It takes you back inside yourself.
It takes you back into where you are a human, happy with the simple things in life.

And where is man happy, if not in nature where he is alone and needs her to take care of him.
It is here he can listen to her story and she to his without saying a word.

They camp together absorbing each others strengths and weaknesses.
The morning dew is like the tear that flows down a cheek washing away the pain and suffering
of ones soul to open doors to forgiveness and to the morning light.

Behind, the light, is so very far away. You could travel in eternity and never find an end or even a beginning. As you try to look beyond, your brain gives in and becomes light headed and you can't help but swoon, felled by nothing more than the power of the vastness of what you see and understand is out there, making you a very inconsequential nothing in the scheme of things.

You have nothing to add or to give and nothing is asked of you.

What a power!
To have to ask and be in need of nothing and remain peaceful in the silence of it all.

We sit and worry and fight our insecurities, while what is , keeps itself on its' journey , moving forward unscathed, without a care , in the knowledge that all is  as it should be and as it will be regardless.
Nothing is as important as this moment,
 as this experience,
 be it living or dying,
for it is all the same thing.

A reality of truth.

Beethoven played and a small world listened but as we leave this planet. this tune will echo through the vastness of  what is, a universe
and blessed will be the place where the melody finally lands
and upon whose ears it falls
 to hear it.

\

Chopin's Nocturne is a very beautiful piece I enjoy listening to.
Great way to start your day. :)
I did my BBQ and it came out quite delicious and sleeping that night I smelled it in my hair as I wafted into a pleasant dream.
Even in my dream it smelled wonderful and drifted me to relive the nights we slept camping
by the fire . What a nice life to wake up to a smoldering fire and a clear brook rippling nearby.
You quietly begin to rebuild the fire again to make coffee while waiting for every one else to wake up.
The birds chirped over head waking up to a sunny dawn where the heat of the earth met up with the coolness of the air.
You go to the brook to refresh your face in freezing cold water while poochy comes and pokes his nose into your face to help you clean up, with kisses. You pat him and give him a good scruffy rubbing between the ears
and he wags his tail to follow you back to your sleeping bag which now has to be hung on a tree to absorb some of the hot sun before being put away.
It is a moment  in life to sit and look around you, to feel your breath, your heart beat,to actually feel yourself live and to feast your eyes upon the wondrous beauty of life around you.

And you think .......MY GOD!

THANK YOU!!!

Have a good one.

One True Thing

This is a powerful story and so much out of life it can relate to many of us out in the real world.
I took part 10 of the movie here because this is my very favorite part
which really discloses the heart of this sick dying woman, what life and marriage meant to her.
What love truly was.
So much tragedy culminating in brining people together because of one strong woman.

I loved this movie....One True Thing. It's on you tube to watch in segments if you don;t see it on TV or own the movie.

Enjoy.

Power of Color

Spring is for rolling up your sleeves and getting to work to be creative
and if you can't do so in a garden then do so with pictures on your walls.

Spring is LIFE!

It is for the living to enjoy.
This is not the time to sleep but to venture forth into the universe.

Amazing things can be seen in the desert right now.
It flowers in cacti in all odd and familiar shapes.
Desert roses, dahlias,morning glories...
all can be found there and they are also not hard to grow inside a home.

If life can be found in a desert, then discover the fertile plains around you.
The birds, the grasses, the wetness of old leaves.
It's all out there to discover all over again.

Enjoy your world.
It was designed for you.

This Michael Jackson policeman is an interesting tourist attraction in the Philippines.
I know he'd catch my eye .lol
I wonder how many traffic accidents result on account of him and if this would be allowed here in
North America?
It sure would make an otherwise boring job a lot more entertaining.

Now this is a tour.
We could use cars and trucks like this to replace ferry boats.
Ingenious!!
We have a lot of small islands between the mainland and  Vancouver island.
Cars and boats can easily swim to the islands or maybe even close to the Vancouver island
to take a ferry boat, making the trips shorter and less expensive
It has been raining almost all day and all night and driving in such weather
is always treacherous especially when the rain is hard. Slow driving
can't be overstressed in such times.
 --------------------------------------------------
I am behind the times and don't see the real dangers posed by gang and drug wars as they battle it out on city streets endangering every one around them. We are not used to this.
We have too many gangs today and they are fighting between each other.
I get very upset when these gansters go into the schools and seeing one familiar face killed, in the papers , really hits home.
Seeing police in full gear, searching for info, is not something we are used to seeing in our communities.
The family tells of how the young man was nice and kind with his family and that people do not see the other side.
As a Mother, I am not impressed.
 He did drugs.
He sold drugs.
He decided to sell drugs to kids, destroying other families.
He wanted fast money to show and attract and entice new members to join the drug traffic world,
innocent kids, who need money and might find this a lucrative business to go into, thinking selfishly,
only of themselves and the lambourghini they will drive one day.

No. I am not impressed .
People do not need drugs to live and enjoy life.
Kids do not need to get away from lifes' pressures and illnesses.
In fact, kids have life easy today.
They should have it harder. They should be doing chores and kept busy in families as opposed to using the home as a hotel and feeding ground and exchanging family for friends and streets.
We would not have pregnant girls, sex, drugs, runaways, bullies etc.... if parents held onto their kids.

But the world has changed. Parents are sent to work and laws allow for parent abuse, by kids.
I watch the program Strict Parents and the difference between kids coming from strict parenting
and  kids from lenient parenting, is quite evident.

The kids of strict upbringing, are respectful. They work hard, are polite, study, and parents don't have the drug and cigarette and sex problems with these kids as the other parents who don't set an example for their children to follow. These kids understand where the parent is coming from and they sympathize and love their parents for being the people they are, who love and care about them enough to say NO.

Freedom is not a right. It's a privilege. You have to earn it through doing the things, which shows society
that you can handle freedom.
These drug people cannot handle freedom because they do not function in society. They are anti society.
They are there to hurt people because they are hurt damaged  people themselves looking for excuses. Why study, when you can prey on the weak and disturbed, sell them drugs, maybe kill them, or get them to join another group in lucrative prostitution to buy more drugs and prey on more people.

Well there are no excuses. :Life is hard. Living is hard. To survive is hard.
Our parents knew it and they worked hard to ensure they had something. Today you can't work hard because things keep being taken away from you to give to those who don't want to work hard.
With computers, it's even easier to gangster.
They are full of excuses as to why they should not work hard.
It is not easy to hold the reins in on kids running wild on city streets and schools saying it's ok not to tell your parents about what you are doing because you are free. lol
Schools have rules don't they?
So this means kids are not free.

Adults have rules to follow. They are not free.
Why should kids be told, they are free?
It's a two faced lie.
Some say ok...... lets give up. Let them have their drugs and then they will weed themselves out and kill each other.
Well that doesn't happen. They don't weed out these people.
They take over and they pull more people in.

People don;t watch cow boy movies but these movies show how evil takes over towns on a small scale.
They show people scared to fight back so they hire fast gun men to resolve their problems for them and eventually these gunmen need their help to fight back.
It was a small scale war but a war nevertheless.

We have no choice but to fight and never surrender in this fight against drugs.
We are Mothers and Fathers and Uncles and Aunts. We all have families we love.
No one should have to make excuses as a gansters' family does about the other side of this personality , who was shot on a city street, endangering everyone else around him in cars.

They knew what the person did. They supported it by not stopping him. They probably even told him
he was smart and thanked him for the blood money he gave them.

So I am not impressed. Those who take and use illegal drugs are part of the problem and not the solution.
There is no excuse to use drugs.
Every time you smoke a joint, some one somewhere is dying because of you, because of a joint laced in something else, because of addictions because you support drugs, because of prostitution related to drug use, because of brain damage because of kids are born of parents who do drugs.
In fact being a part of the problem, you are also guilty, through association, of having someone else killed which means you are also a killer.
Far fetched? Crazy?
Think about it.
Band aide solutions never solve a problem. It festers under the bandage.
The root causes are the problem and ignoring them and changing laws to ok them is not a solution because innocent people, will still die.
Saying its ok I'm not hurting anyone, is a lie.
Your fun is hurting someone as well as yourself.

Laura Szendreis Dad had Hells Angels come to his daughters funeral. The Hells Angels say he is not a member and they came because he knew them and they were friends. So ....does the Father do drugs?

So.... now his daughter is dead by another young mans' hands and every one makes a big deal over it.
Yes ......she was an innocent girl ......as the young man who did it, was an innocent man.
But one has to sit and think now, why did this happen?
It never should have happened.
Two innocent kids destroyed because of what?
So I am not impressed and neither should anyone else be.
Oh well.
Have a good one.:)

HARVARD ? MIT ON LINE YA!!!

It's a great day for America!!
 As Craig Fergusen would say.
That's why I love his show.

I saw this coming and now here it is and it's FREE!!
Get your lectures from some of the smartest people in the world.
It will probably get into elementary and high schools as well.

If this works, soon  kids can stay at home and learn at home.
More jobs gone!! Pfft! Fizzled!!! Thanks to computers.

There must be something more to it than this.
Nothing is for free in this world.

I really wonder how true this all is.?

Have a good one :)

R They High? Have to ask.

This is an oil painting of koi. I also took it from an art store window at Yaohan.
The artist made it look so real I think I almost expected them to swim
This is something I would really love to see on my wall.
Some garden places sell Koi for your artificial garden pond but they wouldn't
last long here at my place because of the racoons.
All the paintings are made by Chinese artists.
In summer there is supposed to be a night flea market but I have yet
to find out where it is held.
That should be an interesting place to visit.
---------------------------------

R THEY HIGH?
Have to ask lol

1.
I had a New Brunswick member of parliament ask for an aisle seat so that her hair wouldn't get messed up by being near the window.  (On an airplane!)
2.
I got a call from a Manitoba legislature staffer, who wanted to go to Cape Town.  I started to explain the length of the flight and the passport information,  and then he interrupted me with,  ''I'm not trying to make you look stupid,  but Cape Town is in Massachusetts ..''

Without trying to make him look stupid, I calmly explained,  ''Cape Cod is in Massachusetts ,   Cape Town is in South Africa .''
 His response -- click..
3.
A senior B.C. Deputy-minister called, furious about a Florida package we did.  I asked what was wrong with the vacation in Orlando ...  He said he was expecting an ocean-view room.  I tried to explain that's not possible, since Orlando is in the middle of the state.

He replied, 'Don't lie to me!, I looked on the map, and Florida is a very THIN state!!''  (OMG)

4.
I got a call from a federal minister's wife who asked,  ''Is it possible to see Russia from Canada ?''

I said,  ''No.''

She said,  ''But they look so close on the map''  (OMG, again!)

5.
An aide for a cabinet member once called and asked if he could rent a car in Dallas ..  I pulled up the reservation and noticed he had only a 1-hour layover in Dallas ...  When I asked him why he wanted to rent a car, he said,  ''I heard Dallas was a big airport, and we will need a car to drive between gates to save time.''  (Aghhhh)
6.
A Calgary council member called last week.  She needed to know how it was possible that her flight from Calgary left at 8:30 a.m.,  and got to Vancouver at 8:33 a.m.

I explained that Alberta was an hour ahead of B.C. , but she couldn't understand the concept of time zones.  Finally, I told her the plane went fast, and she bought that.

7.
A Québec MP, called and asked, ''Do airlines put your physical description on your bag so they know whose luggage belongs to whom?''  I said,  'No, why do you ask?'

He replied,  ''Well, when I checked in with the airline,  they put a tag on my luggage that said (FAT),  and I'm overweight.  I think that's very rude!''

After putting him on hold for a minute, while I looked into it. (I was dying laughing).  I came back and explained the city code for Fresno , Ca. Is (FAT - Fresno Air Terminal), and the airline was just putting a destination tag on his luggage..

8.
A Senator from Saskatchewan called to inquire about a trip package to Hawaii .  After going over all the cost info, she asked,  ''Would it be cheaper to fly to California and then take the train to Hawaii ?''
9.
I just got off the phone with a rookie MPP from Ontario who asked, ''How do I know which plane to get on?''

I asked him what exactly he meant, to which he replied, ''I was told my flight number is 823, but none of these planes have numbers on them.''

10
A senator called and said, ''I need to fly to Pepsi-Cola , Florida . Do I have to get on one of those little computer planes?''

I asked if she meant fly to Pensacola and fly on a commuter plane.

She said, ''Yeah, whatever, smarty!''

11
A senior federal government official called and had a question about the documents she needed in order to fly to China .  After a lengthy discussion about passports, I reminded her that she needed a visa.  "Oh, no I don't.   I've been to China many times and never had to have one of those.''

I double checked and sure enough, her stay required a visa.  When I told her this she said, ''Look, I've been to China four times and every time they have accepted my American Express!''

12
A Newfoundland & Labrador minister called to make reservations, ''I want to go from St John's  to Rhino, New York ...''

I was at a loss for words.  Finally, I said, ''Are you sure that's the name of the town?''

'Yes, what flights do you have?'' replied the man.

After some searching, I came back with, ''I'm sorry, sir, I've looked up every airport code in the country and can't find a rhino anywhere."

''The man retorted, ''Oh, don't be silly! Everyone knows where it is.  Check your map!''

So I scoured a map of the state of New York and finally offered, ''You don't mean Buffalo , do you?''

The reply?  ''Whatever!  I knew it was a big animal.''

Now you know why the Government is in the shape it's in!

Thank God for Emails
How else would one find out anything?

Hope you have a nice day. :)

Orchids, Beautiful and Life.

I love walking by flower shops especially in spring.
This one was exceptional.
I found it at Yaohan on Number 3 Road Richmond.
Orchids are adored in our area and it is a beautiful gift to give a loved one.
Un fortunately my camera doesn't give it justice because I had to take it so the owners didn't see.
They don't particularly like people taking pictures of their store fronts.
Otherwise I would go all out and do some great shots.

Today a lot of care is given to security.
Last night I asked the McDonalds girl if she could throw away a paper cup we bought coffee from at Tim Hortons and she refused saying it was for security reasons .
I had to use the regular disposal can outside in the parking lot.
This never was the case before all this trouble began in the world.

Sometimes I think we need to close all our borders but all it does is punish the people who obey the laws and those who don't obey, find a way to get in anyway.
It's the same with gun control .
You punish the law abiders while the bad guys continue to be the bad guys.
They always find a way. It's always premeditated and the victim is made out to look like the bad guy.

Crime always finds a way and always hurts the innocent because they pay the price

Today we have a video of a taxi cab driver who for some reason was attacked by his customers.
He tried to get away and in the process ran over one of them.
Now he will be charged with a hit and run.
The man he ran over is lucky that the car was small and light but even so, his bones must be broken and he might even end up  a paraplegic as a result, if he lives depending on what part of his body the wheels ran over.
Two wheels were involved; The front and the back

But for me this was self defense. Either the driver gets away in his car or stays and gets beaten to death.
So I guess we will have to wait till they find out the whole story.
It's not easy.

I also have to give kudoos for the Mayor of Surrey, BC, Diane Watts, for refusing to buckle to legalizing marijuana in Surrey. She says these people are attacking the children.
She has a good clear head on her shoulders.
The mayors of other cities who want it legalized must be high and
their good constituents must take a good look at the people they elect to run their business.

The third thing that is impressive to me today is Harley Davidson.
What a group of people they are when it comes to their bikes.
We had a bike washed up on BC shores from the Japanese Tsunami.
They found the owner safe and sound and told him they would fix his bike and send it back to him.
We are expecting a lot of things to show up on our shores and Canadians want to send it all back to Japan because they might have some personal values to the people who lost everything.

Now I have to think about the nuclear disaster they had before the tsunami and how much nuclear stuff and water, comes to our shores on a daily basis.
We are not alone in this world.
What one does affects another.
What happens to one affects another.
This is why we have to fight for peace and love.

Have a good one :)

McDonald Beach

From Iona Beach we headed to McDonald Beach.
Its a small place where people can load and unload their boats.
There is a picnic area over looking a nice moat which is used by barges pulled by tow boats.
They have an off leash area for dogs and so many people come to let their dogs run free. It's fun to see little schmucks, who hate yucky stuff, running alongside huge dogs out to have fun with their balls. It sorta opens up the world for them. It's a world they are not used to and maybe never will be.
On the other side of the moat one can see homes where the owners wake up to a very nice view of the water and natural woods.

It's a place to come to to relax. look at the people and for people to look at you lol
