Spain Wins Euro Cup in Soccer

What an exciting game it was!! Spain was in full control and it showed with a 4-0 shut out. Italy was devastated but they couldn't keep up. Shutting down Mario Balotelli was all Spain had to do to ensure a win. Balotelli hardly ever got any balls come his way to do anything with and he didn't try very hard to get any. Spain went all out. They wanted a win badly and played a great game. One always feels bad coming second place but hey! Italy is the next best team and that's nothing to spit on. After the game, we went to Centennial Beach to enjoy the solitude. We watched a group of people baptize a young man in the ocean. It was quiet and peaceful on the beach. The sea gulls watched from a distance to see if we would leave them anything to munch on. It was business as usual for them and seeing there would be nothing, they circled round but then came back to stand on their favorite spots. We discussed the game and now can't wait to see Spain play Brazil. They never played them and to be the best team in the world, means beating Brazil. Can they do it? Only time will tell. I know I'm staying tuned in. lol Have a great day ! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

The game with Brazil should be a good one, especially since Spain has done something no other team has done.

I hope you had a great Canada Day.

Too bad I missed the fun. But this year, I even missed the Stanley Cup final, so I'm developing something of a habit. A bad habit at that.

Belated Happy Canada Day!

Oh, I can not believe you watched this! Usually no one from other than European countries watches the EM in soccer.;)) My husband called me all the way from the deserts of the middle-east asking me if I was watching, while I just went to sleep, hihi. So much for my interest in sports, but apparently, it was an incredible match.;))

George - Brazil is the team to beat and I am not so sure Spain can do it.
Brazil is my favorite team.

Rob Bear - Our BC hockey team was a disappointment. I almost also didn't want to watch especially when they said early on, they were not in the game to win this year. They played like they meant it and here we are paying them such a huge salary to lose.
We are soccer people but we love hockey and wrestling and even golf. lol
Lots of action out there and trying not to miss it is difficult lol

Zuzana - My son would love to play on a European team.
He's good enough to make a difference as a striker.
He loves soccer but I am trying to keep him in school. It's a tough battle. lol

I'm not a big soccer fan. However, I love the way everyone sits in cafes on the streets of Toronto, watching the matches, crying and laughing, and overall leading very active social lives.

Olga - I think things like this bring a lot of people together and its a good thing.
When you have a country that parties together and finds reasons to be joyful and reasons to even cry together, this unifies us as a nation.
We become proud Canadians and I am all for that.:)
