Apron Craft

I found a box with some old photos  so I am putting them on the net.
with the stories behind them lol
I found this beautiful crocheted apron at a church bazaar
It was only 5 dollars.
I looked at it and thought my goodness!
So much work done and such a delicate result!
Must be it was even starched .
I don't think I could make it for five dollars if I even knew how. lol

I didn't buy it to wear but with the idea of
framing it and hanging it on the wall as a work of art.
Since I don't find many items like this anymore
I think that maybe all these wonderful crochet and knitting people
must be slowly dying off taking their secrets with them,
like my Mom did with her tomato juice lol
I am still determined to one day make jars and jars of her kind of chunky
tomato juice.
If the person who made this apron sees her creation on the net
may God Bless her and her golden hands.
It is appreciated as a work of art and is treasured every day.

It is very delicate and beautiful. It surely was made with love and adoration for her craft.

Love you :-)

Prims - I enjoy your blog and I am thrilled when I find such nice families.

Butterfly I thought so when I saw it. It was certainly different from anything I see being sold in craft sales. So I had to buy it and put it away. lol Now One day I have to sit down and think how to display all my treasures so others can enjoy them.

How pretty! I haven't done crafts in a long time. Stuff like this makes you realize how talented people can be.

Mama Zen I know. Now how do you wear something like this to get dirty?
It's just for decoration I think.

Lydia I crochet but this is done with a small hook and it's hard on the eyes.
So yes, it is a talent to make something like this. Many people who don't do crafts have no idea.

Thanks Diane - Some women really do create such lovely things and their kids don't appreciate it.
I told my sons if you don't want to keep my stuff, keep it anyway cause the grand children or the wives might want it because they will see something there of their grand mother you didn't appreciate .You see some estate sales and wonder what is wrong with these kids? Are they so spoiled they don't see magnificence of the things their Mom or grand mother did? Today they throw the things away like they do the people.
So sad.

Such a beautiful find. My nana tried to teach me how to crochet as a girl, how I wish I'd learnt.

I can understand why you wouldn't want to wear this beautiful apron, I think it would make a wonderful wall hanging.

Good luck in making your mother's tomato juice.

George - I never heard of an apron wall hanging but why not?
We dont see many aprons like this. I don't think I ever saw one. Maybe that's why I am impressed.
