Valenki

Valenkis' were worn by peasants and we would read many stories about how these poor people would trudge through heavy snow in frigid weather and yet who would have thought these valenkis were so warm.
They are good up to -40C and excellent of circulation, rheumatism and arthritis
Felt is easy to make if you want to make slippers. Just throw an old wool sweater into the drier and voila.
My boys did that with two new sweaters after having been told how many times??????
NOT TO DO THAT?????? (sigh)

Valenkis' are not cheap today any more than designer dogs which used to be called worthless mutts.
Times have changed. People have become smarter and do not just look for style but for comfort and health.

Now I can't make boots for the outside but I have enough felt from sweaters to make boots for the inside which can be sewn or made from one piece.
The arms can be used as leggings for hockey skating and soccer games or sewn onto other sweaters to make them designer like the dogs mentioned above . Then you can wear a winter vest and still have warm arms.
See... I can either sulk or find other things to do and make my life easier.
It also is an idea one could experiment with, to do a niche market in indoor slippers.

MADE IN NORTH AMERICA????

The boots look really cozy. I bought some EMU boots (similar to UGGS) last year and they are wonderful!

Sandy - They seem to be going into the fashion world now. and the important thing about them is that they are environmentally friendly

I find ideas I like to put into my blog so I can go back to it instead of having to search all the time.
Nothing I do here is for profit.
