Life in Soccer. OOPS?

It has been a very busy week end in Soccer.
And I am finding it hard to get back on track.

We won one and lost one and the one we lost was quite upsetting for every one.
My son scored Saturday It was a two one win.

Sunday they got slaughtered. My son scored one but they came in with 6 quick ones.
Our goalie didn't know what hit him.
He had no defense around him.

Defense wasn't defending.
Refs did not do a good job of reffing.
We sustained lots of injuries.
One of our players fell and the other team's boys (seemed deliberately) stepped on his face leaving a huge cleat mark. Could have been worse. Another boy slid into the feet of our player knocking him down without touching the ball, and he got away with it.
They kept pushing from behind going into football tackles which I don't understand because soccer is supposed to be a non contact sport.
The refs ignored it.But if we ever do such things we get penalized for it.
So I am not sure what was going on but it sure didn't look good.

My son, a forward, never got close to a ball as panic set in and the game degraded.
Had we pulled up our socks we could have done it even then but seems the will was gone.
My son was pretty upset at what he saw transpire on the field and said it was very unprofessional.lol

Well my heart is also heavy for these boys They are good boys.(for the most part lol) If they don't get up and at em, and psychologically overcome the slump they are in, I'm afraid the rest of the games will not be very good for us as we have strong opposition teams to beat.

Hope you all had a great week end.
We will try to keep our chins up this end.

Have a great day :)

Well done to your son for scoring but what a shame some players were unprofessional.

Hope things improve for the team and the boys but I gotta tell you....that photo made me burst out laughing! Thanks, I needed that (bet the recipient didn't but it sure entertained me!)

Well I for one think it's not if you win or loose it's how you play the game. As long as your son did his best he has everything to be proud of. You can't control what the refs or other players do if they are doing a shitty job. I know it's hard for a child to understand that but I'm sure with your praise that you give him, he will survive...He's your son after all :)

I am still cringing from the pain.

lol Most of the game was that painful to watch.
I feel so bad for the goalie. He must feel the worst letting in so many in such a short period of time.
We had university coaches there so this was bad for recruiting purposes. We saw them leave at half time. They knew it was over which made our kids feel even worse.
One coach told me well there is nothing like getting wooped once in a while to get your perspectives right.
I saw too many things going wrong to have any answer to give him.
If refs have it in for you or don't do their jobs, then the game, no matter how good you play is done for before it begins.
Also some coaches are looking for agressive attack mode players but those players don't last. How much abuse can a body take? So I don;t think I'd like my son playing with such coaches anyway.A lot of the youth coaches in hockey and soccer train the kids to hurt other players. By the time they are ready to go professional nothing is left to give. The whole picture is no good.
My cat killed a robin and it died in my hands. We took it as a bad sign before the game.
