Churchills' Legacy

Churchill , a great orator and statesman, said many things.
He said it is a mistake to look far into the future.
He said with regard to Hitler:
We will fight. We will never surrender.

Churchill was and is still one of my very favorite people in history.
2012 looks like it will be a year when people will have to unite and pull together if we are to win the war against poverty hunger suffering and the economy.

This is the year when the words of Churchill will have to live again.
This is the year that will humble the CEO's and make them work for a living or resign.

This is the beginning of a new era and no one knows what it's all about but what we do know is that we can make it either something which will lead to death or something which can lead to
something too great to imagine.

For once in our lives, our future lies in our hands.
And it is not just for North America but all around the world.

The fact that the Euro is associated to no one country is a sign and it can go both ways.
Either it survives.........or it dies.
There is a lot of good will for the economy to survive with or without it.

This makes it a very exciting period to live in.
It lets you look at the future as either half full or half empty

Life during Churchills' time was difficult.
People moved forward and people will move forward again today.

We will forge ahead and make life and living a great time
to remember.
We will make great history full of enlightenment but this time
it will not be for Rome, Egypt, Israel or anyone.
It will be for the world.
It will be for you and for me.
It will be for our children and their children.

We have been forced into taking another step forward
and we will not fail our maker and
do the right thing to make him proud of us
as he already is.

God Bless Everyone.!

:)

Nice thoughts on Churchill. I owe my existence to him and I have always had a soft spot for Winnie.

Zuzana You have to go forward and keep building.
I think we watch too much news and they tell us it's about leaders, government intl affairs economy and politics but it's not.

It's about people. It always was and it always will be.
It's about people, friends, neighbors and communities.
If we all dig in, nothing else bad can happen.

Churchill was a great man. The bestman of Mr. G when we married was a friend who had worked for 4 years as a butler in Churchill's home. Mrs. Churchill had instructed him to put a lot of water in his Whisky !

Hi A Lady's Life .. Churchill seems a good man to bring out now - he'd been through it and went through it .. he certainly had leadership ideas reminding each of us to take charge of our own lives as best we can - before someone else does.

Love the quotes and that Mark Twain one .. but Mrs C diluting his whisky .. with all that cigar smoking he probably couldn't taste his whisky anyway!

Happy New Year though .. and happy year ahead .. cheers Hilary
