October Apples.

In the darkness
In the night
Apple blossoms sprouted nuts

Hidden as forbidden fruit,
Juicy apples
Behind cedar shoots.

Here I sit watching them grow
Changing color, before the hint of snow
Ready for the midnight witch
To pick them, for Halloween treats.

In the darkness
In the night
Juicy apples colored bright
Toffee covered, chocolate bound
Getting ready, for Goblin night.

"From ghoulies and ghosties and long leggety beasties and things that go bump in the night, Good Lord, deliver us!"
