What if..........

To think, how many things take place right at this spot.
Before the mushrooms, this was a wasp haven.
Right beside the driveway, they had a very nice nest and were very happy to fly around your legs when you got in and out of the car.
Thank fully they never bit anyone.
In spring, tulips , daffodils and Jasmin spring out
and winter will have new smells for the critters to investigate.
Nature sure is swell.

---------------------------------------------------------
So the story goes like this.

Looking back, life becomes a diagram, where by we can follow points A.. to.. B.. B ...to C ...etc.. and each point is where a decision had to be made as to which direction to go in.
And what exactly determines the decisions you make?

Why not take the A-Z straight road, right on through?

Well, we meet up with stop signs where we have to take a breather to look around and see what's up.
A lot depends on how you feel at the moment.

Are we tired, sick, ambitious, lonely, depressed, have a broken leg?
Each feeling will enable us to decide the next move as to whether we want a jog up hill, down hill, walk or just sit and spend the night or maybe two.
These are the first things we pay attention to making your life decisions but, Then come the secondary thoughts like:

weather,
money, maturity, our love situation, peer pressure, fear of either success or failure, etc..... What is more important to us at that moment?

Throughout life, as the diagram begins to look more like a pattern of behavior, we can maybe decide what we can change, what we would have changed and how we can change the direction our life is going.

Then once we have our changes and the path , direction or life pattern corrected to go to the final destination, oh oh.........something else happens.

More Stops we did not plan.

Illness of a parent.
Children , spouse complications,
Job problems,
Changes in political objectives.
Hurricanes, fires,
etc...

so no matter how much we want to reach point Z, obstacles keep falling to obstruct our path.

So we sit down at say, point F, and then we think.....

Geez. How would life be different, if Dad did not meet Mom but married one of his other girl friends?
What would have happened if we didn't live in the country we live in?
What if we lived in the city instead of the country?
What would have happened if we had no money growing up or if we had money?

Where would we be if we had too many friends or not enough friends?
Where would we be if we had talents or had no talents?

Where would we be if we pursued the career we wanted, instead of the one we were led into?

What would have happened if we didn't listen to people and the news ( the world will end today type of dogma or The Stock Market, Oprah or the View).?

The list goes on as each question becomes more personal.

We love to beat ourselves up every day for our successes and failures but the fact of the matter is, some things are unobtainable and just not in our hands to change.

Things happen and no matter how hard we try to reach a certain point in our life, chances are
it may never happen.

The questions though, are interesting as a mind empowering exercise.

What if?..........................

So this is how the story goes...... one step at a time, one direction at a time forming a pattern of a life that has your name on it. The pattern may or may not be of your making but.........
this is you.

How do you like you?

How would you change you?
Would you?

The way we answer these questions may either give us great anxiety or
by acceptance, provide us with great peace.

The biggest question is what would have happened if we just ignored everything and walked right through from A to Z?

What if........ is not really a question pertaining to life.
What is ......is more realistic and easier to accept and deal with.
Never the less......the story goes like this.
Before the mushrooms, wasps and flowers
Once upon a time, there lived a life
and it was me.

Have a great day

A Blue Rose

Having four visiting family members, my wife was very busy, so I offered to go to the store for her to get some needed items, which included light bulbs, paper towels, trash bags, detergent and Clorox. So off I went.

I scurried around the store, gathered up my goodies and headed for the checkout counter, only to be blocked in the narrow aisle by a young man who appeared to be about sixteen-years-old. I wasn't in a hurry, so I patiently waited for the boy to realize that I was there. This was when he waved his hands excitedly in the air and declared in a loud voice, "Mommy, I'm over here."

It was obvious now, he was mentally challenged and also startled as he turned and saw me standing so close to him, waiting to squeeze by. His eyes widened and surprise exploded on his face as I said, "Hey Buddy, what's your name?"

"My name is Denny and I'm shopping with my mother," he responded proudly.

"Wow," I said, "that's a cool name; I wish my name was Denny, but my name is Steve."

"Steve, like Severing?" he asked. "Yes," I answered. "How old are you Denny?"

"How old am I now, Mommy?" he asked his mother as she slowly came over from the next aisle.

"You're fifteen-years-old Denny; now be a good boy and let the man pass by."

I acknowledged her and continued to talk to Denny for several more minutes about summer, bicycles and school. I watched his brown eyes dance with excitement, because he was the centre of someone's attention. He then abruptly turned and headed toward the toy section.

Denny's mom had a puzzled look on her face and thanked me for taking the time to talk with her son. She told me that most people wouldn't even look at him, much less talk to him.

I told her that it was my pleasure and then I said something I have no idea where it came from, other than by the prompting of the Holy Spirit. I told her that there are plenty of red, yellow, and pink roses in God's Garden; however, "Blue Roses" are very rare and should be appreciated for their beauty and distinctiveness. You see, Denny is a Blue Rose and if someone doesn't stop and smell that rose with their heart and touch that rose with their kindness, then they've missed a blessing from God.

She was silent for a second, then with a tear in her eye she asked, "Who are you?"

Without thinking I said, "Oh, I'm probably just a dandelion, but I sure love living in God's garden."

She reached out, squeezed my hand and said, "God bless you!" and then I had tears in my eyes.

May I suggest, the next time you see a
BLUE ROSE, whichever differences that person may have, don't turn your head and walk off. Take the time to smile and say Hello. Why? Because, by the grace of GOD, this mother or father could be you. This could be your child, grandchild, niece, nephew or any other family member. What a difference a moment can mean to that person or their family.

From an old dandelion! Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.
Leave the rest to the powers that be.
