A Lone Soldier

A Lone soldier, he stands
A survivor
Resurrected
Every spring.
His roots deeply embedded
Where they are never found.

A lone Soldier He survives
Living through
The thick and thin
He is here, a sign of promise
A sign, that we are not alone.

A Single Soldier
Yellow and green
A bright survivor
Brave and strong
Resurrected
Every Spring.

A Lady's Life.

I planted many bulbs through out the years but few survive the pesty squirrels.
They come and dig them all out.
A few flowers survived and they keep coming back year after year.
This one looked so lonely and brave out on the front lawn.
I had to take a picture of it.

Two bowling teams
One team all blondes
The other team all brunettes
Chartered a double decker buss for a trip to Ohio

The Brunette team took the bottom part of the bus
The Blondes took the upper part of the bus.

The Brunettes were having a heck of a time hootin and hollerin
Suddenly they noticed that the Blondes upstairs were very quiet... too quiet.

One of the brunettes went upstairs to find out why.
She found all the blondes sitting in fear, looking straight ahead of them, with white knuckles and bulging eyes.
The Brunette asked: Whats wrong?
We're having a great time downstairs.

One of the blondes swallowed hard and looked up at her
and then whispered

'YEAH SURE, YOU'VE GOT A DRIVER'

Life in Pink

It's too bad Arnold Schwarzenegger had this little misunderstanding because
English isn't his native language.

He told Maria (his wife) that their housekeeper wanted a raise.

Maria said, "Screw her."

Any simple-minded, semi-literate Austrian could have made the same mistake,
Right?
---------------------------

The above flower was again on a vine and the more you look at these vines the more you like them.
BC is wonderful when it comes to growing flowers. We have plenty of rain this year which makes it easier on the gardners.
In Steveston they opened up small unused areas between houses to make community gardens.
I always find this enlightening. Every house gets a wooden frame to grow anything they like in .

Lots of women were working and enjoying their day around their gardens although I must admit it was very hot yesterday and I wonder how they planned on watering each box. If you don't live across the street, you'd need an extremely long hose to drag out there for the job and or keep barrels full of water to use every day as needed.
Usually, if we are lucky, it rains at night so the plants get water and you just do the weeding. But then again you also have to watch out for the birds helping themselves.
The pleasure you get if things are done right and results are seen, is stupendous.

Each little plant becomes your special baby and a big part of its' life is yours.
This is such a special connection people can share with nature and between each other as they can compare each others gardening skills as well as social skills.

If you don't have a box garden you may find growing potatoes in a garbage bag a lucrative investment. You roll the bag down and put in soil. Once the potatoes sprout to 10 cm shoots add more soil. Keep doing this till you reach the top. Then stop and let shoots mature.
Make holes for water to escape at the bottom, and water regularly.
et voila.
Soon you will have your own crop of potatoes.

Have a wonderful day !!

A Back Yard Bliss

My yard is an overgrown forest.
I love keeping it this way as everything fits in.
The birds, flowers, trees, wild life and most of all, Beau.
Like everything else in the back yard, he is growing older and scruffier but he is the same
loving smart pup we got 8 years ago.
He likes to hide behind branches and play hide and seek with you because he never wants to come inside, thus keeping his old inherited dog traits
Coaxing him back in is not exactly my cup of tea.
He still needs a 10 year old boy to play with him but my youngest has already outgrown dogs.
Beau watches the wild life and keeps the coons and cats at bay.
He says this is my turf. No trespassers but it seems no one cares and trespass anyway. lol
Spring is a beautiful time in my back yard as things begin to grow again.
You forget winter and all the rain and concentrate on the glory of rebirth.
The smells of new fresh grasses and chirping of birds makes your heart flutter.
Nothing like nature at her best.

We finally moved on in Hockey to the next level.
This is the first time in 17 years that we got so far.
The Canucks played an aggressive game because they said they needed the rest in between series. The next series will really be a difficult one. Both Detroit and San Jose are stacked with excellent players and goalies. It's going to be a difficult haul.
Ryan Kesler really did a lot for this game and ended up the teams' MVP

Nicole Kidman was in the Nashville Audience. We saw her at two Nashville games.

With a bursting heart I wish you all a very beautiful day!

After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year, British scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 200 years and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 150 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the Brit's, in the weeks that followed, an American archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet, and shortly after, a story was published in the New York Times:
"American archaeologists, finding traces of 250-year-old copper wire, have concluded that theirancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network 50 years earlier than the British".

One week later, Canadian Dept. of Mines and Resources in Newfoundland reported the following:

"After digging as deep as 30 feet in NE Canada, Jack Lucknow, a self-taught archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely bugger all. Jack has therefore concluded that 250 years ago, Canada had already gone wireless."

Just makes one proud to be Canadian, doesn't it?

Lotsa Shakin Going On

The world has a lot of news these days.
Obama got Osama.

Prince William got married.

Paul McCartney is engaged to marry.

The rain looks like it is about to stop flooding areas.

The flowers are blooming giving many something to smile about

I thought the video above would put a smile on someones' face,
not only because this fellow is a little thin but because it doesn't stop him
from letting it all hang out anyway.

Spring Feathers

A man worked on the buses in the US collecting tickets.

He rang the bell for the driver to drive, while a woman was still getting on the bus. When the bus left, the woman fell off the bus and was killed. The man was tried, convicted of murder and got the death penalty. Since this took place in Texas , this meant the electric chair.

On the day of his execution he's sat in the chair and the executioner granted him a final wish.

"Well" said the man, "is that a banana in your lunch bag? "Yes" answered the executioner.

"Can I have it?"

"Sure."

The executioner gave the man his banana and the man ate it. When the man's finished, the executioner flipped the switch sending hundreds of thousands of volts through the man.

But when the smoke cleared the man was still alive.

Since you can only kill a man once. They let him go.

The man got the same job and again was selling bus tickets and again he gave a bus an order to leave while someone was getting on and again this person fell under the bus and died.

So Again there was a trial and he was sent to die by the electric chair.

He met up with the same executioner and when asked for his final wish, he again asked for a banana.

After being electrocuted, the man again did not die and left the executioner flaberghasted.
He'd never seen anything like it before and let the man go free.

This happened a third time, exactly the same way.

"I give up" said the executioner, "I don't understand how you
can still be alive after all that. Has it something to do with that banana ? " he asked.

Nahh" said the bloke,

"I'm just a really bad conductor"

SPRING WALKABOUT

A Mom saw her daughter come home solemn .
What's Wrong Honey? Are you ok? she asked

Ya. Max asked me to marry him.

Well that's great news. Aren't you happy?

Well Mom he's an athiest and he doesn't even believe in Hell.

Oh pfft. Don't worry. Marry him anyway.
Between the two of us he'll find out and believe soon enough.

----------------

After waiting an hour for her date to show up Mary finally decided he wasn't coming
So she went and changed into her PJ's and curled her hair when suddenly the doorbell rang

She answered the door and there stood her boy friend
One look at her and his face went white.

What.....he gasped. I am two hours late.............and you're still not ready?

The Spring Grin

Three chickens walk into a public library, find the librarian and say, 'Buk Buk BUK.' The librarian decides that the chickens want books, and gives them some and the chickens walk out.

Around midday, the chickens came back looking quite annoyed.
One leans over to the librarian and says,' Buk Buk BuKKOOK!' The librarian thinks the chickens want more books and promptly gives them some more to read.
And Again, the chickens leave.

About an hour later they march back in extremely agitated and nearly shouting, 'Buk Buk Buk Buk Bukkooook!'

The librarian was now starting to get worried about where all her books were going. She decided to give them more books but also followed them to find out what was going on.

She saw them go out of the library, out of town, and into to a park. She hid behind a tree, not wanting to be seen and quietly watched.

She saw the chickens throw the books at a frog in a pond and the frog kept repeating,
"Rrredit Rrredit Rrredit..."

Oh boy! lol

LIFE and MATURITY

Maturity

The look of innocence
From old eyes
That speak of spring
A tender smile
So knowing and kind
From lips that have once kissed deep
Drunk of life’s nectar and
Collected it for a winter’s day
Oh yes, La Boheme
Such as it was
An early bud
Pricked, torn
but still in bloom
Blue white and gold
Enshrined for all to see
Innocent in old blind eyes.
The spring of love still lives.

Spring Rebirth and Butterflies

Posted by Picasa

Spring rebirth and butterflies

Welcome a new dawn

And buds peak out from underbrush

They didn’t need to hoe

The robins hop around

The soft sprouts and the twigs

They find what God has plentiful

Squiggling around.

Its enough to keep them strong

so they could build their nests

And lay their pretty blue eggs

And nurse them cause they’re blessed

Some of us are witness

To changes taking place

And some just live cemented

In a disinfected place.

Spring rebirth and butterflies

Welcome a new dawn

Laughing at the dew drops

Reflecting a new sun

All is well and normal

At the edge of town

Life and death and rebirth

Butterflies and sun.

This poem depicts that we do unnecessary things to keep us healthy and well.

Mother nature has all the ingredients required for life and living to take place.

It is healing soft moist and blessed by the one Father who knows how to do the job

We live fearing Mother Nature believing if we study her we could do a better job but every year she shows us

That this is farther from the truth

When Mother Nature hoes, she hoes. When she washes she washes and when she lives, she puts on the greatest show on Earth!

:)
What is the definition of a robin?

A bird who steals.

When is the best time to buy a budgie?

When they're going cheap.

What's a polygon?

A dead Parrot.
