Color of Fall

What better to feast ones eye on, than color?
Bees must live in a wonderful world being always so close to it.
Fall has always been my favorite time of year
but I still  love season change.

Leaves
Crinkly golden red yellow and brown
Shuffling through leaves in piles on the ground
Horizon on fire as they say their good byes
It's been a great life but now we must die.

We loved you so much till the very end
Please don't forget us , as we're not far, just bend.
We'll be in your gardens protecting the roots
Providing safety for worms, to nurture the birds.

And in the spring when we're raked up once more
We'll nourish the gardens and flowers and more.
The trees will grow tall and lost hikers will know
How great tastes the water in little pools left from snow
That melts in the cloaks that nature sews
From crinkly golden red yellow brown
Here to enrich this most glorious ground..

This is a beautiful ode to autumn.

Thanks George. I remember how many times we walked under trees to find these little pools of water held there by the leaves which seemed to be sewn together by nature and covered an indenture in the ground. The water was always clean and cold and we would fill our containers and drink our fill.
mmm soooo goood.!

Autumn. Autumn is the season that I like the least. I wrote about it in my blog.

LORNA - Living in Cali must be a joy.
I came from Quebec and so I do miss the seasons . Fall is gorgeous!!
Here in BC we have rain 3/4 of the year and have to go north to see snow
My back yard is mostly green all year round so I miss seeing color.
As for shorter days winters are even shorter.

I love the colours of all but I always yearn for summer.

Akelamalu - I love summer too. The warm water, green grasses. I lived in a tropical country where nothing ever changes and eventually you get to miss the life you had. The big snow storms, winter wonderland, the walks on crisp cold snow crunching under your feet, snow men and the moon. Every season is lovely and makes it good to be alive to enjoy.
