Listening to Reality

Today was a very hot day.

My son was preparing for his  trip to Penticton where they will be playing
a tournament.
Three guys are planning to sleep in the van so today the van finally got
to see a vacuum, the back seat taken out and blankets and pillows put in.
They don't want to sleep in a tent because there are bears and deer
walking through the camp. These are city boys and find bugs yucky.
I told them the van will not save them if a bear wants in, short of driving away real quick.
I think that's the plan. lol

Then we went to Walmart for snacks. The guys played TV soccer but that Iphone never stops.
As we were getting the
BBQ ready my son and his friend took off to the beach.
We were not fast enough for them.
My son told us he was not going out today.
He is over tired anyway so we didn't rush.

So ended up it was just hubby and I who enjoyed a great BBQ.
Their loss.
Hubby got 2 tomato plants and two strawberries and he was happy.
They will be pot plants. If we get the garden ready for more then we will plant the whole garden.
with other things.
Nothing much else .
Hope you had a good one.

Akelamalu - My son is mostly about soccer.
It interfered with everything.
We couldn't take them camping or fishing or go on family trips because if you stayed away in summer you got into trouble in winter.
Sometimes I think these coaches go too far.I mean parents complain about schools giving too much homework interfering with social family activities and I much prefer they do that than these coaches doing it.Now the team goes to camp grounds cause they are all grown up men. Well woopdeedo.
lol I would have enjoyed showing my kid how to hook a worm, how to cook on a camp fire, how to survive in a tent, boating rules and safety, and count the stars at night.
Instead it was all hotels and rush rush rush and strict rules so you could never enjoy anything.
I think I did a lot more with the first kid than I did with the second one except quiet things like read books.lol

City boys aren't the only ones who find bugs yucky. I'm glad you and your hubby were able to enjoy the BBQ.

I wished we could do a barbecue, but with temperatures around 10°C it's a little cool for that !

Well, those boys have a better chance in the van than in tents if bears are out and about and hungry!

We planted a lot of stuff yesterday. We got 5 inches of rain yesterday afternoon and last night. We should have gotten life jackets for our plants ;)

lorna so far they had two deer but you never know about the bears.
They are camping in an orchard turned into a camping ground.

Our weather hasn't settled, so it's always an adventure around here. I hope your son enjoyed his game.
