Cape for the Hat

Well here is the little cape to go with the hat.
It took a day to crochet.

But I am not sure that a crochet cape and knitted hat go together so I might have to knit another
cape to match the hat.
I'd like to add a few crochet flowers to this cape to give it the finished look
The little bone homme is an old one. I made it 20 years ago and it visited many countries and saw quite of few Christmases.
He is still hanging around.:)

I think they go together very well! :)

You did that in a day? Wow!

Akelamalu They look very different the two pieces.
Not like they were meant to be together
I'd have to crochet a hat to this cape.

Mama Zen - it wasn't hard.
The hook was 5.5 mm and the design was simple.
Not much to calculate. It is also for a child up to 4 years of age.
So its not very big.
It's good with multi colored thread.
Saves you time to change colors.
They turn out naturally.

Very lovely. Once upon a time I crocheted but stopped after my children grew up. My granny was the one who taught me. I think it is a lost art and needs to be kept alive.

Will you keep this or or is it a gift for someone?

Titania Knitting and crochet is very much alive except now even men do it.
My grand mother taught me to never keep my hands idle when they could be productive.
I wasn't planning to make this hat . It just came out watching TV lol

Zuzana - I have no idea.Right now it's going into storage lol but when an opportunity arises I have a gift ready and or I can sell it or donate it to a school or church bingo game or what ever. lol
I keep saying to myself I should do things before I get old and then for some reason can't.No one knows what lies ahead of him so, do things while you can so you leave a trace of yourself behind.
My kids don't understand but one day they will as I do now with my grandmas' things she made. My Mom never made anything but she left me with good memories of her garden cooking and preserves.
