Here You Are

Follow your dream; unless it's the one where you're naked at work during a fire drill.

"Here you are. Thought you were going to get away did ya?"
lol
This is an old post card from Germany and I've kept it and made copies.
Anji might like to see this card.. I loved it because of the faces. He was so upset to fall into her apron and she was delighted to catch him. lol

Before we got married, I told my husband, one day, this will be me and this will be you.
Little did I know
Hubbies are very nice, till they begin to travel on business trips and you have to stay at home to hold down the fort and catch them when they get back. lol

I've been catching mine for years now lol
Who says marriage is not fun?

And what's this I hear about foreign women being better?
I don't know. Mine always came back.
In fact he came home one day and found that his son didn't remember him anymore.

That was an episode in my house.
He couldn't believe it and thought I was teaching the boy not to like him lol

I told him, you got me into so much trouble when you were gone because every bearded man he would see, he would run and grab by the leg and say:
Daddy, I am so happy to see you!

The poor bearded fella, would be there with his wife or girl friend and she'd be staring him down and I would have to go through all the explanations, looking guilty as hell.I am sure all the women thought we were both guilty lol and we never even saw each other before that particular day, when this would happen.lol

By the time hubby did get home, I told the child so many times that the guy, whose leg he was grabbing at that time, was not his Daddy , now that his real Daddy showed up, he was not so sure anymore.lol

The two of us, got a lot of bearded men into trouble.lol
It was funny if it wasn't so sad, about a boy missing his Daddy.
Taught Daddy a thing or three.lol

I told Daddy to go on more business trips ( with a smile)
but now Daddy wasn't sure what I meant by that .lol

In those days there were no emails or video cams. You had to wait weeks for a letter even if he wrote one every day and he'd be gone 6-8 weeks at a time to make it worth the price of sending him over seas.

You get used to living your own way and then guess what, Hubby shows up and cramps your style lol .

I guess it's true, history repeats itself.
My Grand Mother would tell me often, one day you will sit and laugh at how silly you were, getting upset over things that didn't matter.

Now I am older and I listen to young problems and I remember my Grammas' words cause she was right.

Young people will always be young people and older people will always be wise and tolerant because they know how it was with them, young, stubborn, hot headed, full of life ,expectations, promise and future and why not? It's all true.

And hubbies fall from the sky as they always do, back into the loving hands from whom they run to work and play in the outside world, while homestead fires are kept burning, by the people
who they do it all for....... and love.

Life, passion, heart ache, love, these are constants in peoples lives they need to deal with every day and it isn't easy .No one expects it to be easy and so you walk through life with eyes open, head on, into what life and reality dishes out.

You find out that you are not alone and as you fight to survive, you see the importance of charity and forgiveness when it's shown you and when you show it to others, for otherwise, how would we all survive? We all need each other.

george carlin - american dream

Saddam Hussein calls President Clinton and tells him, "Bill, I had a wonderful dream last night. I could see America, the whole beautiful country, and on each house I saw a banner." "What did it say on the banners?" Clinton asks. Saddam replies, "Allah is god, god is Allah." Clinton says, "You know, Saddam, I am really happy you called. Last night I had a similar dream. I could see all of Baghdad, and it was more beautiful than ever. It had been rebuilt completely, and on each house flew an enormous banner." "What could you see on the banners?" Saddam asks. Clinton replies, "I don't know. I can't read Hebrew."

I was always happy that I didn't have to travel on business when my children were small. After reading about your experience, I'm even happier.

George - It was ok. Our letters kept us close but it gave me a lot to think about like maybe people should be older to have children when they have time to spend with them but then older parents don't do sports and other things which kids like to do. You really have to be a child to raise a child and children have to have the chance to be children and not raised as adults before their time.My husband missed out on a lot with my first born but he made up for it with the second. lol

Life takes us where it will. This is a thought-provoking post. Thanks for the humor, too.

Mr. Gattino came home every evening so did I, he was and is still crazy about his son and it was him bottle feeding when he was a baby ! Very exceptional in the 70th, lol !
I thought Clinton would know it better, Sadam was an arab and spoke arab, the Jews speak hebrew, of course, then both couldn't understand, lol !

I've always been grateful that MWM never had to travel away with his job, I would have missed him soooo much.

The man in the postcard is in for a soft landing methinks. :)

Sandy Yes I agree lol

Gattina The joke is Clinton told Saddam in a nice way that the Jews took over Baghdad after Saddam told him he saw Arab Banners displayed on every house in America lol

Akelamalu yes it is hard to say good bye knowing its for so long but then you look forward to when he gets back. You get used to it.Keep yourself busy and time flies.
And it wasn't for ever. I mean look at the Soldiers right now. They are hardly ever home and those poor families raise children without a Dad or a Mom if she is enlisted.

Mama Zen - I can picture this happening .Clinton would be the mad to say something like this lol
