A Copper Day

I pulled this piece out. I don't know if anyone remembers them being made in copper and then they paint it and it's ready to hang on the wall. After all these years, it still looks brand new and never tarnished.

These ladies are busy with the water and milk cans.
They are wearing traditional folk robes and head covers.

It is extremely chilly this morning and they say it will be a very cold day ahead.
Guess its soup day. lol

The long line of solemn men and women advanced up the church aisle. One by one they paused before the altar to lay bouquets on an open coffin. All except one woman. Instead of flowers, she set a bowl of steaming gumbo beside the dearly departed's face. "Why did you do that?" an usher asked, "This man's soup-eating days are over." "Oh?" She replied, "You think he's still smelling the roses?"

"How did the cannibal cook respond when complimented on his soup?" "It's all relatives.

"When is rabbit soup not good?" "When there's a hare in it."

"Who is the head of a soup factory?" "Souperman" (7-year-old Californian Marguerite, bless her heart)
How do you make gold soup? With 22 carrots
When is soup musical? When its piping hot.
What do you call 2,000 pounds of Chinese soup? Won Ton

Bertha Belch, a missionary from Africa, will be speaking tonight at Calvary Memorial Church in Racine. Come tonight and hear Bertha Belch all the way from Africa.

· “Ladies, don’t forget the rummage sale. It’s a chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house. Don’t forget your husbands.”

· "The sermon this morning: 'Jesus Walks on the Water.' The sermon tonight: 'Searching for Jesus."

· "Please place your donation in the envelope along with the deceased person you want remembered."

· The peacemaking meeting scheduled for today has been canceled due to conflict.

One Sunday after church Mom asked her very young daughter what the lesson was about. Her daughter answered "Don't be scared, you'll get your quilts."
Needless to say, mom was perplexed. Later in the day, the
Pastor stopped by for tea. Mom asked him what that morning's Sunday school lesson was about.
He said "Be not afraid, thy comforter is coming."

Question: How do you make God laugh?
Answer: Tell Him your plans!!!!!!!

===================================
A kindergarten teacher gave her class a "show and tell" assignment. Each student was instructed to bring in an object to share with the class that represented their religion.

The first student got up in front of the class and said, "My name is Benjamin and I am Jewish and this is a Star of David."

The second student got up in front of the class and said, "My name is Mary. I'm a Catholic and this is a Rosary."

The third student got in up front of the class and said, "My name is Tommy. I am Methodist, and this is a casserole."

Mama Zen - Yes it was funny because we do not know what the future holds.
A gesture of kindness in times of woe is always appreciated and in time paid back.

Love copper, and I do have a few pieces myself, but I've never see it painted! Thanks for sharing.
About your last joke, I guess the casserole applies for a few other churches too:)
