Hornets Bar None!

This beauty is found in Russia, Korea, China, Japan Taiwan,Indochina Nepal India Sri Lanka.
They are about 2 inches long with a stinger of about 1/4 inch in length.
I hornet can kill 40 bees because of its strong mandible
In Japan they eat them as Sashimi or deep fried.

What else do we associate Hornets with???

I know some of you own GUNS but this is something to think about...
If you don't have a gun, here's a humane way to self defense.

A Church receptionist in a high risk area, was
concerned about robbery
when they counted the collection.

She asked the local police department about using pepper spray and they
recommended to her that she get a can of wasp spray instead.

The wasp spray, they told her, can shoot up to twenty feet away and is
a lot more accurate, while with the pepper spray, they have to get too
close to you and could overpower you.

The wasp spray temporarily blinds an attacker until they get to the
hospital for an antidote. She keeps a can on her desk in the office and
it doesn't attract attention from people like a can of pepper spray would.

Keeping one at home, by the bed and camping might
be good for self defense.
Thought this was interesting and might be of use.

It's a tip given to students learning self defense for decades.

It can buy you time to get out and get help or call the police

Did you also know that wasp spray will kill a snake and mouse?
Interesting :)

This rumor has been floating around the internet for 2 years. IT IS A BAD IDEA. There is no proof, zero testing, showing that wasp spray is effective on humans. Wasp spray as a personal defense weapon is rediculous.

I thought wasp spray was a pretty good idea. It certainly is better than having a gun around that children could get into.
Be that as it may, I would certainly hate to meet that hornet!

It says wasp spray is effective but since it is not for humans because of the pyrethrin in it they are not sure of the effects on humans, but it also says that criminals use it against their victims so I'd say we're on equal footing here.lol

George: this hornet is not as vicious as some of the other breeds of wasps but it can kill a human that is allergic to it as it can bite over and over and over again.
Its amazing that the Japanese eat them but Asians love to eat all sorts of interesting things.
As does the Survivor Man. These things are good to know.

Mama Zen : Its something you would have in your home in the event of Wasps showing up in the yard so why not have it within easy reach.
Our police force told us to keep our doors and windows locked because criminals today show no mercy so...
In Canada we don't own guns, and mace is becoming illegal as well.so anything else we can use legally is always something to look at.
Seems the good guy has no rights to self defense against criminals anymore. They come in to hurt you and you are sued if they get hurt.
lol
No wonder the police have become brutal.

The problems with wasp spray are many. First no human testing has been conducted. Second, it is illegal to use in self defense. The canister labels states "It is a violation of Federal Law to use in any manner inconsistent with this label. NEVER USE INDOORS!” You can also be sued for using wasp spray in self defense because of this warning on the label. Home defense pepper spray is a much better option. Pepper Spray has been designed to specifically to stop humans, dogs and even bears. Home Defense pepper spray will deploy up to 25 Feet. Pepper spray is legal to use in self defense. Pepper spray is trusted and relied on by police departments worldwide. The biggest advantage pepper spray provides is it doesn't require pain to incapacitate because of its inflammatory effects. Unlike wasp spray, pepper spray slams the eyes shut and causes a loss of breath sensation which makes it effective even if the attacker is drunk, on drugs or is emotionally disturbed and cannot feel pain. When your life is at stake do you want something that can stop a wasp or a bear? Go with pepper spray. It’s legal and proven.
