Amen

Apart from the fact that I love Mario Lanza because he sings so many songs that I like, one of the being BELOVED, this video of the Lords Prayer is awesome.

I remember I used to sing it and today, I almost forgot the melody.
How awful!

Not much is being kept as a tradition these days and some things just should not be forgotten.
This is one Prayer that is beautiful to sing into the heavens to God and the Angels who serve him. I remember how nice it was to begin your day at school with the Lords Prayer, The National Anthem and God save the Queen. It sorta began your day knowing who you are.

Monday is again cloudy but the rain held off.

I went to Save on Foods and they sold this package of old chicken they said, for 5 dollars.
I thought I lucked out because the best soup bouillon is made out of old chicken. The meat is hard and hardly worth eating but the soup that comes out of it is un comparable.

When I opened the package, I found out I had not one chicken in it but three. I couldn't believe my luck, when today they charge so much for everything including chicken feet and chicken gizzards. We used to make pate out of chicken livers as well as use them for stuffing and chicken feet my Mom used to get for free. They are also good for soup and quite tasty if you over look the fact that they walk everywhere lol (I don't buy them) but 5 Bucks for three chickens is a deal.

Then I also came across some very chubby looking, small, fresh salmon, from the Pacific Ocean.
I don't particularly care for salmon as many people do unless it is baked in curry, black pepper and lemon, but I could not resist this package of two.

When I got home I took one and filleted it, covered it in salt and it is making me some very nice lox under a heavy plate in the fridge. I can't wait to eat it in 5 days, with phili cheese and bagels.
Sometimes you just have a craving. I still have to turn it every day and press it but all good things are worth waiting for.

Maybe today I will bake the other one since we have not had fish in a while.
And so my week has begun.

God Bless Every one.

I agree with you about Mario Lanza's singing. I've always liked his version of the Lord's Prayer.
It sounds as if you really lucked at the grocery store. That doesn't happen very much any more.

George - No
We buy chicken but it is always the kind they force to grow quickly and then are sent to market before their time. Because there is such a demand for chicken, the taste and quality of the meat suffers.
Maybe these chickens were from the egg layers and so they lived longer and had time to age.

I didn't know that Mario Lanza sang religious songs ! Maybe they were not very popular in Europe.
You made a real good bargain with your three in one chicken, lol !

Great music for sure! Thanks for sharing.

Five bucks for three whole chickens? AMAZING! Is there anything IN chicken feet to eat? (I've eaten some wild things when I was in the Army Special Forces, but chicken feet just don't seem to have anything in them to eat?)

Don - chicken feet are great to make boullion with.
First you parboil them and peel the top skin off Then you make the soup.
The feet are bony and if you like that kind of stuff nice to chew on as you would any soup bone.

I didn't mind it when I was a kid cause I played with the feet trying to see how they walked lol but then when we moved to SIngapore, they sold chickens with the heads and eyes looking at you.
I didn't like that because I could not chop the head off.
It took a while to get used to but after a while it didn't bother me anymore.lol
