HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY

Peace is found on this stretch of ground, for the men who marched to the bugels' sound.
To the brave and the strong who carried our flag
So a nation can stand proud and strong.
We hail them on this Memorial Day
We hail them each day.
For righting the wrong.

We thank them for caring. We cry every day,
for the price they paid for this sacred soil
on
Memorial Day.

Thank you.

I didn't know about a memorial day, but now I know it, it's almost on all American blogs !
Wars are so useless and as by miracle no politician has a son as soldier !

george = its a sad place to go to.
All these young men with whole lives ahead of them, never thinking this could be one of them when they go into the services.
It's just unimaginable.

gattina - I agree. Why do we fight?
This war with Israel and Palestine is stupid.
Wars for oil and wars over saving pristine land and animals.
Wars for worthless pieces of paper.
Wars to create havoc to life that just wants a roof over its head and green grass and flowers and a garden.
Simple things really that is hard to come by and so people fight for power to have them when they should just be nice and enjoy life.
But you see man is also cruel and wasteful and greedy. Man kills good.Man tries to tell people such things do not exist. The question is, will evil ever be satisfied with what it has?Or does it want more? Or does it breed more to continue what it began. Can evil produce good? Interesting thoughts . I think it can and so then we come back to the question of whether or not good exists. lol

Thanks for this poignant post. Memorial Day always challenges me about what I would put on the line for the people I love.
