short visit

The Japanese create such interesting things. These are great toys to go shopping in or to just drive around the neighborhood.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

There comes a time when a woman just has to trust her husband... for example...

A wife comes home late at night and quietly opens the door to her bedroom.
From under the blanket she sees four legs instead of two. She reaches for a baseball bat and starts hitting the blanket as hard as she can. Once she's done, she goes to the kitchen to have a drink.
As she enters, she sees her husband there, reading a magazine. "Hi Darling", he says, "Your parents have come to visit us, so l let them stay in our bedroom. Did you say hello?

lol

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Roads like these inspire short visits. Brrrrrr!

Have a good safe one.!

Bend Over

photo

Spanking made me remember a lot of things.
First of all, spanking is not beating.
You spank to teach a lesson and so it has to be with forethought and the child has to know he has to bend over to take his punishment. Schools also had this and you had to know if you did bad and they gave you chances to stop but you didn't, you had to wait in front of the Principals' office until he came out with the ruler.

The waiting is worse than the punishment. lol That's why my Dad always made me wait till we got home because the anticipation of a spanking was worse than the spank.

My Dads' Dad never spanked but many times I heard my Dad say I wish he did spank because he'd go on and on and on and on and he'd make him more angry and very nervous.
One day he told him :
Just hit me why don't you and get it over with so I can go? lol Then my Grand father again would begin with the lectures and again he'd sit with his blood pressure rising. But he sat. He respected his Dad and sat. Today kids don't sit.

My Grand mother used to take a towel and twist it and she'd chase my Dad around the table. The towel would untwist and then she would hit his sister with it.
My Dad complained and said : How come you are hitting me with a twisted towel and her with an untwisted one. She would pretend to spit from anger and walk away. My Dad and his sister always remembered their spanks and laughed.

My Husbands' parents would grab an ankle and the kids would scream from fear but then the screams turned into laughter because instead of hitting the bottom of the feet they would hit themselves. The point was made and tears turned into giggles and screams.

I spanked once in a while but very seldom. There is no point to spank if learning doesn't take place.
Sometimes you have to if nothing else works.

As for me, I grew up and took Shotokan Karate. My muscles became hard as rock.
One day my Dad got angry with me and I said to him, do you want to spank me? Here!

I gave him my bum and he gave it a hard wallop but I felt nothing.
He, on the other hand, hurt his hand and I saw him slowly put it down so I would not see.

But he was proud of me. I grew up strong and sure of myself.
I didn't commit suicide over stupid problems, I was never bullied.
I took my knocks. I was also smart to avoid being knocked.
I respected people, didn't swear or take drugs and showed kindness to the old the weak and less fortunate. It is funny, but all our names in my Family mean Defender of men and that's what we are.

Kids learned from pressure. It's not like an adult learning because a kid always had parents to fall back on to give support.

Today we have a whiner society. Every time something happens... Oh,we need to pass a law.
So things get ugly and people get ugly and laws get ugly.
No one wins.

We passed anti spanking laws because some parents were abusing their kids. Abuse is never a good thing to do but that's different from spanking. If you need to give a child a good spank, that's a different story.
A spank is not for your benefit but for the childs'.
Kids went to school to squeal on the parents so the school gets them into trouble as payback for saying no at home. Today the schools ignore these kids because they themselves can't handle them.
Some just can't be handled. So today they drug them. They destroy their brain cells.
But our parents spanked us and we corrected our behavior without drugs.

I much prefer I do it myself, than to have my arrogant kid go out into the street and get shot or beaten or killed by a police man. That would be abuse.
Today the police fear the public and when they shoot, they shoot to kill and they don't care how old you are.
Then the public complains and I say...... it's too late.

ex You want rights to be a prostitute knowing you will be in danger.
Where were the parents to help you change your decision before you ended in a ditch?
Now you are dead and passing laws isn't going to change that.
Killing your killer isn't going to change that.

When your kid was small did you teach him?
Did he accept authority?
Did he take drugs?
Did he go to school or play hooky?
Did he bully ?
How did he handle bullying?
Did he do chores?
Was your child temperamental or easy going?

We all had the same problems growing up as the kids do today but we were tougher kids as a result of being taught respect and accepting authority.

Today they speak of children committing suicide.
Why?
I couldn't take the bullying!
They write on face book about me.
They laugh at me at school.

We were taught how to handle such situations. Our minds were working all the time.
We'd sit and wait for an opportunity for the bully to make a mistake and usually he does and then the jokes' on him... and the bully becomes the bullied.

The bully gets his just rewards and this is what a powerful mind does.
A powerful mind is not afraid of a spanking any more than it is afraid of bullying
or anything else. A powerful mind walks through life proud.
A powerful mind, when he falls down, gets up and walks again.

Laws do not fix life problems. You have a life problem, you have to learn to be strong and fix it yourself.
Once you learn to do this, you become an adult.
You become a man.
lol
I have to ask looking at our society today, how many people can call themselves men?

:) Have a Good One
Rudyard Kipling If

If

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

A Little Poetry To Clear the Mind.

Our school is a good school,
It's made of bricks and plaster,
The only thing that's wrong with it,
Is the bald headmaster.

He laughed when they said it couldn't be done,
He smiled and said he knew it,
But he tried the thing that couldn't be done,
And found he couldn't do it.

Poor old teacher, we missed you so,
When in hospital you had to go.
For you to remain there is a sin,
We're sorry about the banana skin.

There was a young caretaker named Frank,
Who kept all his beer in the school tank.
One day it was locked,
And he was so shocked,
Because without his pint he'd go blank.

When things get twisted and out of joint,
Don't get discouraged and quit the game,
Remember a corkscrew never goes straight to the point,
But it gets there just the same.

The joke you just told isn't funny one bit,
It's pointless and dull, wholly lacking in wit.
It's so old and so stale it's beginning to smell
And besides, it's the one I was going to tell.

Mary had a little bear,
To which she was so kind,
And everywhere that Mary went,
She had a bear behind.

Don't worry if your job is small,
And your rewards are few.
Remember that the mighty oak,
Was once a nut like you.

There was a young teacher of Rheims,
Who had the most frightening dreams.
She would wake in the night,
In a terrible fright,
Shaking the house with her screams.

I wish I was a little grub,
With whiskers round my tummy.
I'd climb into a honey pot
And make my tummy gummy.

The day is sunny and we are waiting for the Hockey game to begin between the Vancouver Canucks and San Jose.

It should be a treat as the Vancouver team is said to be very focused.

It is going to be a long week end here in Canada and the college kids are heading up on to Whistler to partee.

Mama and Papa will also partee at home alone for their anniversary. We are slowly becoming a single couple again.lol

Saturday, according to one priest, is supposed to be judgement day. Its just a matter of days before we see what all this is about.

Seems to me the end of the world has been predicted every generation and still the world is carrying on as if it doesn't know anything. It just continues on its' path doing what it always does, ebbs and flows, freezes and melts, rains and shines.

The rest of life has to deal with the consequences of the planets behavior.

Lately it has been naughty. Is it learning from life to live?

To make it exciting for people?

Well at least we are busy trying to clean up our lives so less time is spent on dirtying it. lol

Trying to see the bright side of it.

hmmm.

Vets

Putting down your best friend is the hardest thing anyone can do.
In the past, we worried about leaving a dog or giving it to the SPCA because it was known animals were given or sold to scientists who did experiments on them.
So in order to avoid that, you made sure the dog was put down before leaving so it would not be made to suffer.
After watching this video, I now have shivers going up my spine.

Do we now have to take the body home after euthenasia, to make sure the vet did a proper job?
This is another example, that no one can be trusted to do the right thing and for the right reasons.

We put our 7 year old shepherd down because of major hip displasia. He would have needed
many operations,at another facility who did this sort of thing, lots of money, and no guarantees that he would not be afflicted with the same problem after wards.

We did not say good bye to him as this would have been too painful and I would have broken down last minute and taken him home. But it cost us a lot to do this after the xrays and such, plus cremation costs.
Now to find out we paid for one thing and then if the Vet did another ......??????

This gives plenty to think about.
Vets get samples from companies and like doctors, they push products for these companies ,making patients sorta like guinea pigs.

This sort of makes the whole system kinda untrustworthy. It makes the pot calling the kettle black a reality .
Vets have become pushy people, making you feel bad for not doing something or not feeding the dog a special brand of expensive and yet maybe still unhealthy dog food.
They have been known to lead people on to spend more money.

This man was stunned to see his dog wake up but now, how can he put it down again, when the dogs' will and destiny, is to live?

-------------------------
Man to dog trainer: "Every time a bell rings, my dog goes into the corner."
Dog trainer: "That's OK, he is a Boxer."

A wife says to her husband one weekend morning, "We've got such a clever dog. He brings in the daily newspapers every morning." Her husband replies, "Well, lots of dogs can do that." The wife responded, "But we've never subscribed to any!"

May the Dots be with you...O B ONE

http://technabob.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/village_people_pixels.jpg

How the Internet Started

Now this is truly worth a resend.

A revelation with an Incredibly Big Message (IBM):

Well, you might have thought that you knew how the Internet started, but
here's the TRUE story .....

In ancient Israel, it came to pass that a trader by the name of Abraham Com
did take unto himself a young wife by the name of Dot.

And Dot Com was a comely woman, broad of shoulder and long of leg.
Indeed, she was often called Amazon Dot Com.

And she said unto Abraham, her husband: "Why dost thou travel so far from
town to town with thy goods when thou canst trade without ever leaving thy
tent?"

And Abraham did look at her - as though she were several saddle bags short
of a camel load - but simply said: "How, dear?"

And Dot replied: "I will place drums in all the towns and drums in between
to send messages saying what you have for sale, and they will reply telling
you who hath the best price.

And the sale can be made on the drums and delivery made by Uriah's Pony
Stable (UPS)."

Abraham thought long and decided he would let Dot have her way with the
drums. And the drums rang out and were an immediate success.
Abraham sold all the goods he had at the top price, without ever having to
move from his tent.

To prevent neighbouring countries from overhearing what the drums were
saying, Dot devised a system that only she and the drummers knew. It was
called Must Send Drum Over Sound (MSDOS), and she also developed a language
to transmit ideas and pictures - Hebrew To The People (HTTP)

But this success did arouse envy. A man named Maccabia did secrete himself
inside Abraham's drum and began to siphon off some of Abraham's business.
But he was soon discovered, arrested and prosecuted - for insider trading.

And the young men did take to Dot Com's trading as doth the greedy horsefly
take to camel dung.

They were called Nomadic Ecclesiastical Rich Dominican Sybarites, or NERDS.

And lo, the land was so feverish with joy at the new riches and the
deafening sound of drums that no one noticed that the real riches were going
to that enterprising drum dealer, Brother William of Gates, who bought off
every drum maker in the land.

And indeed did insist on drums to be made that would work only with Brother
Gates' drumheads and drumsticks.

And Dot did say: "Oh, Abraham, what we have started is being taken over by
others."

And Abraham looked out over the Bay of Ezekiel, or eBay as it came to be
known. He said: "We need a name that reflects what we are."

And Dot replied: "Young Ambitious Hebrew Owner Operators." "YAHOO", said
Abraham. And because it was Dot's idea, they named it YAHOO Dot Com.

Abraham's cousin, Joshua, being the young Gregarious Energetic Educated Kid
(GEEK) that he was, soon started using Dot's drums to locate things around
the countryside.

It soon became known as God's Own Official Guide to Locating Everything
(GOOGLE).

So, that's how it all began. Now you know.
Of course this story is true;
its source is uh....................the internet.

Japanese Candy/Peanut/Cookie Bowl

This is something I found I never knew I had.
It's from Japan and has a number on it.
The Roses and leaves stick out from the bowl just a tiny bit.
You can feel the outline over a very smooth surface.

So now it will go and hide again in a box till I discover it again.

Catty Lear.

This girl I know lives on the 4th floor of an apartment, and even
though it is a fairly good neighborhood, she has been having
trouble with a Peeping Tom that lives next door.

Every time she goes out onto her balcony to catch a bit of sun
while wearing her bikini, this Peeping Tom looks over from his
balcony as soon as she removes her top, and stares at her all the
time she is there.

She has complained to the superintendent about this Peeping
Tom, but he says she must have positive proof before he can do a thing.

She FINALLY got a picture (above)of him, while he was staring at her.

Peeping Tom.
Nice guy lol

I had a cat that did the same in the bathroom.
Every time people would go, he'd push the door and look inside to watch you.
It got to be eerie and I'd yell at him to leave cause after all, this is private stuff lol
Eventually he put two and two together and I caught him going into the bathroom to do his number 2.in the toilet and to pee he'd go in the hole in the bathtub.

Cats are smart.
Sure saved me a lot in kitty litter.

Here is another fun clip to enjoy. Now we know why we love animals.

Overjoyed!!

I was overjoyed this evening as well as very surprised to see
the little nuts I found by an oak tree, and planted, sprouted for
Christmas.

I was washing dishes and then saw this green color inside the plastic container
which I covered with cellophane paper so there would be no flies in there
laying eggs.

I looked inside and just couldn't believe what I saw.

BABIES FOR CHRISTMAS!!!

Now what better sign can you get at this time of year?

I am soo extremely happy you cannot imagine.
More are coming out and I so hope they survive.

I am encouraged to plant more now that I know they will grow.

Oak trees are truly a gift to mankind, animals and nature.

I have the I Wish You a Merry Christmas song in my head
and it will not leave.

I think I got my gift and I feel so merry and bright.
:)

A London lawyer runs a STOP sign and gets pulled over by a Glasgow copper.

The lawyer thinks that he is smarter than the cop because he is a lawyer from LONDON
and is certain that he has a better education than any cop.
He decides to prove this to himself and have some fun at the Glasgow cops expense

Glasgow cop says, " Licence and registration, please."
London Lawyer says, "What for?"
Glasgow cop says, "Ye didnae come tae a complete stop at the stop sign."
London Lawyer says, "I slowed down, and no one was coming." Glasgow cop says, "Ye still didnae come tae a complete stop.
Licence and registration, please"
London Lawyer says, "What's the difference?" Glasgow cop says, "The difference is, ye huvte come tae a complete stop,
That’s the law, Licence and registration, please!"
London Lawyer says, "If you can show me the legal difference between slow down and stop,
I'll give you my licence and registration and you can give me the ticket.
If not, you let me go and don't give me the ticket." Glasgow cop says "Sounds fair. Exit your vehicle, sir."
The London Lawyer exits his vehicle.

The Glasgow cop takes out his baton and starts beating the shit out of the lawyer and says,

"Dae ye want me tae stop, or jist slow Doon?"
