Out Door Candle

I closed the door and it was so to stay
closed, so I would not see .
I locked the door to only look outside
Through a stained glass window
Shadowing the normal light

Outside a candle glimmered in the blue night sky
So quiet , peaceful it
Welcomed me outside
But here I stayed behind the door
Beside a warm, crackling apple tree.

Curled beside the fire in the hearth,
I was covered by a knitted shawl
Suited for cold winter nights.
Outside the air was fresh and cool and
My eyes stayed glued, like a moth to light

Hypnotic, mystic, it absorbed my lonely heart
It pulled for me forth, this candle of the night
I was a stranger, lost within thick dark walls
bursting to be free, from behind closed doors

The wind began to howl between the trees
Competing with a pack of wolves
Roaming wild and free .
The blowing snow caressed their fur and
Squinting eyes while
I sang a long sad song of life, inside

They heard it from outside the closed locked door
Bewildered, I heard them howling like before
The wolves joined in with the wind and me
Each sang their song in reverie.

Yet I was the one who sat inside,
A stranger, lost within warm walls
Fearing the welcoming candle
of the world outside

Peaceful Offering.

In the foggy mist, old man winter
wrapped warm in his snow blanket
Awaited the arrival of a friend,
to share his wealth of crystal information,
so delicate, intrinsic, and hypnotic to the eye.
He had so much to offer on
so peaceful of a moonlit night

Along trudged a bobbing bear covered in his diamonds
Followed by a prickly haired husky baring teeth of war.
A hunter stood behind them with bow and rifle raised
In the silent foggy mist
Of old man winters' home.

The bear rose his paws, up into full alert
A throaty roar pierced the calm
While the dog crouched down to fight.
With fangs, he growled and drooled to catch the big bear blows.
The hunter stood stead fast
with his mighty bow

After a bloody battle
The diamonds turned to red.
The bear lay in the blanket
Old man winter made
The Husky sniffed the carcass
The Hunter smiled a smile
A peaceful gift, an offering,
Old man winter got to hold.

In the silent foggy mist
A wealth of crystals shine
On the trees and bushes and the creatures of the night
Old man winter keeps them warm
In the powdery snow
No one fears him like the hunters
Preying on the living, in the blue white snow.

Ol Man Winter

We took this shot in Whistler,BC.
It's unbelievable how the soft snow flakes wrapped tucked and warmed this small sapling.
It looked like old man winter, with his head and body bent low,
trudging along, oblivious of the beauty surrounding him.

He is used to it, as he is the one who brings it, wherever he goes.
I had to take this shot.
It was just too good to pass up.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
