MAN’S COMPLICATED SPIRIT
THEY SAY WHEN THE BEAR PRESENTS ITSELF TO YOU TO BE KILLED, SO YOU SURVIVE
IT BECOMES YOUR SPIRIT BEAR.
There are many legends about this in Indian folklore.
Why do we need spirit animals?
To some, the spirit appears as this particular animal, because it’s a symbolic representation of the strength of that spirit.
That spirit is attracted to a person because they need those strengths.
For example, a spirit guide who takes the form of a dog might be offering the gifts of obedience and loyalty.
A hawk might be the spirit of freedom and power.
The Deer is fast, a good kicker, and yet soft and fragile.
Spirit guides can also appear in various ways such as dreams, visions, or might come to the person in the form of the animal in real life.
The bear is cunning, powerful and can beat most of your enemies.
But what about man?
What about when man is forced to face himself, like in a game of Russian Roullette?
What does it mean when we present ourselves, to ourselves, in this deadly game?
Do we present ourselves to live or to die?
In the movie 1978 Deer Hunter
We see just this sort of thing happening.
Robert De Niro is great in this movie.
HMMMM.
