My Thai

Thailand is truly a beautiful place to visit.
I always loved these houses the people lived in.
The life style seemed so quiet and peaceful.
If only places like this were not disturbed by
progress.
The richest people in places like this were those who could
afford electricity for a light bulb or a TV set.
Today with solar energy, every one can afford electricity
and have the best of both worlds.

We craved for Thai food so found this little place in Langley,BC.
It's called:    My Thai.
It's not a fancy place but the food is good. The prawns were absolutely so fresh,
its just as if they just caught them.
It's on one of these little streets where cars are parked sideways
on both sides like one would see in a cowboy town where you tie up your horse
in front of establishments.
They had a nice little art gallery which also offered
lessons to stay alive. My Thai also offers cooking lessons to keep the public
coming.
Out of the way places like this, could use a little more advertising.
Unlike White Rock which has an ocean to attract people, they just have their
little special kind of attractions worth coming to see.

I think we would go to My Thai just for the Tom Yum soup they make
with rice. It is absolutely delicious!

This link is a recipe for what we had I think.

Thanks for the link! I've come to love Thai food and culture since my brother married Amp, a wonderful Thai woman and they live most of the time in Bangkok. Amp's Tom Yung soup will clear your sinuses for sure! But what I like most is the gentle, calm nature of so many Thai people, including my sister-in-law -- the current political unrest notwithstanding!

Do you know I've never had Thai food! I don't know if I would be able to tolerate the spices or not? But I'd sure try if I knew of a good place close by. Glad you found one! Hope you are doing well :)

Kathy - Yes it is a lovely quiet life and the people don't know how nice this is to people coming from loud cities.

Vicky some spices are very good for you cause they fight infection and energize you. Thais use a lot of chilli so depending on what medicine you take.....
But the tam yum soup with lemon grass is to die for. I could go and just eat tons of that.
