Spring Fever

Good Day to EVERY ONE!!

Spring Fever has finally struck.
We have a gorgeous day today.

Above I have a collage with a picture of my tulips and hyacinths
the now old cape with flowers , since I now began another one to replace it with in knitting.
I will have to make a crochet hat to match the one with flowers.
That's how work accumulates. lol

And

I made the pieces for a small candy wrapper bag . It needs the parts to be sewed together now.
I am hoping I will know how to do this and then the project will be finished and I will know I can play with paper on a boring day someday and make purses lol which are useful things.
Sometimes you may need something special to match your attire and if you can get the right colors, you can make it at home faster than you can find something suitable in a store.
It is similar to origami.

I think they are worth making and teaching girls keeps you busy and happy.
Everything people learn in life, is good.

Have a good one!!

Cape for the Hat

Well here is the little cape to go with the hat.
It took a day to crochet.

But I am not sure that a crochet cape and knitted hat go together so I might have to knit another
cape to match the hat.
I'd like to add a few crochet flowers to this cape to give it the finished look
The little bone homme is an old one. I made it 20 years ago and it visited many countries and saw quite of few Christmases.
He is still hanging around.:)

My Kitty Hat

I put my knitting away and then this little creation appeared.
How it began is a mystery but I finished it and I feel a sense of accomplishment.
lol
The hat was done on very thin needles used for socks.
Another to add to my collection
I think I will soon have a store I can open with my own finished projects.
lol
It's nice to sit and do something without having to look at patterns or counts stitches.
Now I have to make something to go with it so it's a set.

At the bottom of the picture is a strand of folded chip bags to make a purse with.
It takes 7 x 60 link strands to make a small purse.
Now I know I can make them.
Quite exciting because it is not hard to do and the bags are gorgeous.
It pays to do projects.:)

The Kitty card is by an artist named Oresta

Have a good Day every one!!!

These bags are gorgeous!

They must be water proof so they can be used as diaper bags.
or evening bags.
You can weave them into bracelets.
Amazing work.

Fusing Plastic Bags To Sew or Create Stuff with

After you fuse the bags to make material, they can be cut and sewn or folded into
many things such as book covers, Journals by clipping holes to match the paper holes which you then place inside and using thread to tie everything together.
You can fuse cuttings from other paper bags to create designs on the original material. It's suitable for wallets purses, bags etc...
Just use your imagination. In my house I find them suitable for table settings and to put on the coffee table your kids use so if they topple a glass over it doesn't get into the wood. It would cost a lot to get a glass to cover the table.

These are excellent tips for teachers to do projects with at school since art supplies are expensive. Kids can bring their own bags to fuse. This girl used printer paper but most other clips show wax paper being used to fuse bags with.
For bigger pieces use 4 whole bags one on top of the other because the best thickness is made up of 8 layers of bags. This is why she folds the bag twice over making it a smaller piece.

Have fun and enjoy.

Elizabeth Taylor

This is a post card of a lazy cat lol
Have you ever noticed cat eyes? They are almost hypnotic
as were the violet eyes of a most wonderful actress
ELIZABETH TAYLOR

National Velvet was a very touching series about a young girl who believed in her horse.
I am not surprised it launched her career as a great actress we all know today who raised herself up to play the role of Kings.

She cared about people and issues in spite of all her personal problems.
I am sure the world will always remember her as a generous human being and a wonderful actress and legend.

WEIRD COINCIDENCE OR FATE? Mike Todd, Elizabeth Taylors' love of her life died March 22 1958 and she also died March 22nd .

Old Souls

This is a puzzle I did, I would like to frame.
It is very inspirational
to look at.
---------------------------------

Humor is to life, what shock absorbers are to automobiles.

-Stan Toler

~-------------------------------

We speak of old souls. People who feel they do not belong here.
People not understanding their purpose here.
People who feel the world is not doing or being run the way it should be.

How do we differentiate souls?
Well there such things as

Infant Souls whose main purpose deals with survival
Their world exists around themselves and nothing beyond.
Me Myself and I

Then we have Baby Souls which require structure to live in
They require dogma like politics or religion.
They live under an umbrella where every one is supposed to be the same and if they are different then.... Oh boy! Oh no! Not good!

After this come the Young Souls.
They want success, high standards and personal achievement and look
towards the world as something they need to show something to. They need the world to pay attention to them.

Mature Souls look into relationships and how they and other people relate to themselves.
They look into their inner spiritual being.

Then there is the Old soul. The old soul needs nothing. The old soul is detached and tries to see how he relates to everything. Life, the universe.
Material things and games people play is not of interest to these people.

I guess the old soul asks Why am I here? This isn't my world.
I don't belong here.

I was very surprised to find there are many people out there who feel just the same way.
It makes them lonely and they wait for something to happen to make sense of it all.

Liver May Be the Origin of Alzheimers? Hope Hope

I can't remember where I've been
Or where I'm going.
And I am not sure if I ate or slept
Or cooked or cleaned or did my sewing
But I will never forget your sweet face
As long as you are with me.
So darling rest your head on mine
And promise you won't leave me.
And I promise you that I'll be good
And greet you with a smile
And I'll share what ever's left in me
As your beloved wife.
For in the end what's left
Except you and me and love
For no one else will understand
What we were both made of.
A Lady's Life.
-------------------------------------------

This is very interesting.
Alzheimers may be the result of the liver.
Check it out. Article by Kate Melville
from the Journal of Neuroscience

http://www.scienceagogo.com/news/20110209183745data_trunc_sys.shtml

They found a
mouse gene corresponding to a gene known to predispose humans carrying particular variations of it to develop early-onset Alzheimer's disease .

"The product of that gene, called Presenilin2, is part of an enzyme complex involved in the generation of pathogenic beta amyloid," Sutcliffe said. "Unexpectedly, heritable expression of Presenilin2 was found in the liver but not in the brain. Higher expression of Presenilin2 in the liver correlated with greater accumulation of beta amyloid in the brain and development of Alzheimer's-like pathology."

This finding suggested that significant concentrations of beta amyloid might originate in the liver, circulate in the blood, and enter the brain. If true, blocking production of beta amyloid in the liver should protect the brain. "

I found this to be quite enlightening as I feel being robbed of your memories and life in later years, is a devastating experience.

Considering so many people will be getting old soon, we should find a cure sooner than later
so we can enjoy our old age.

It's Been A Long Day

This is my very precious one. The one I love so much. In 7th Heaven
So how can I be angry at her for doing her job looking for her ball
on my lap top keyboard?
She is a shitzu x bichon. Mostly all white except for a few beige spots on her which I like. She has a Maltese nose which is what I like as well.

I can't keep the fur around her mouth white because when she eats, the food colors it.

She is so happy and confident and now sleeps with her eyes closed as opposed to before when she slept with her eyes open which was eerie. lol

--------------------------------------------------------------

These are my new Reebok shoes, given to me as a present by my son cause I told him I loved his.
Now we are twins.
They are so comfortable , have arch support, and make your food look small and
trim.
I usually never like what I see in stores for my feet but these ...
I can sleep in. lol

This man and woman were making love when the woman cried out "Oh my God! I hear my husband coming! You must get out of here fast! Grab your clothes and jump out the window!" The man hurriedly jumped out the window and fell into some bushes. As luck would have it, it started to rain. He sat there, wondering what he was going to do when a bunch of joggers happened to jog by. The man quickly jumped up and joined the joggers. As he was running along with the rest of the joggers, one asked him "Do you always run in the nude?" The man answered, while gasping for air, "Oh yes, it feels so free having the air blow over your skin while you are running." Then another runner asked, "Do you always run carrying your clothes on your arm?" The man answered breathlessly, "Oh yes, that way I can get dressed at the end of the run and get in my car to go home." Then another runner asked "Do you always wear a condom when you run?" "Well," he answered, "only when it's raining."

Freedom

In the soulful crying of the sea gull
Ghostly clouds blow over silent
Silhouettes of dying men
Leaving ballads to be sung

So Austere a golden sunrise
To the men who lie in blood
Fingers cold hold onto last breaths
Eyes Speak of soul and love and heart

By Silhouettes of dying men
The soulful crying of the gull is
So austere and cold and strong
Walking free behind the fallen
All the brave who did not run.

I had become confused when I heard the word 'service' used with these agencies:

Canada Revenue Service
Canadian Postal Service
Provincial Telephone Service
Cable, Satellite TV Service
Civil Service
Federal, Provincial, Municipal & Public Service
Customer Service

They do not provide what I thought 'service' meant.

But today, I overheard two farmers talking, and one of them said he had hired a bull to 'service' a few cows.

BAM!!! It all came into focus. Now I understand what all those agencies are doing to us.

I hope that you are now as enlightened as I am.

What is the Truth?

It is becoming very difficult to be cheerful looking at the world around you.
What the heck is man doing to people and this planet?
What possesses man to have power get to his head this way?
Government is accountable to the people and no one should be above government running wild, believing in nothing and accountable to no one.

HAARP was developed to find oil fields by oil companies and to help areas where there was no rain, like Ethiopia, get rain.
Just like Nuclear energy, developed for the better good, so was the HAARP project but then the military bought it and now we do not know what it does or did.
Did the Haiti earth quake happen as a result of their experiments?
What is Japans' situation in this? Did someone do an experiment and artificially create this devastation in Japan? Questions need to be raised.

Jesse Ventura, a republican, has a video made up of 4 sections , very interesting to watch
It shows how weather can be controlled. how the mind can be controlled and how they can cause earthquakes to happen and even affect satellites and even airplanes.

The Persian gulf had a whole group of fried dolphins washed ashore and they could not understand what happened to them.

It is funny because I remember a few years back I also was driving home from soccer and there was a radio station talk show on in Washington state.

People were calling in saying they heard voices in their heads and they thought it was because of UFO's but now we can say that it might have been something to do with the HAARP project in Alaska.

Today China and Russia are also developing such projects and if all this is true, then the world is becoming very dangerous indeed for man kind.

Maybe they need it to deflect the solar flares expected to come this way next year but it seems those flares will not do much here, except that nothing is ever 100% certain. Is it?

Is it the truth? Or is it a conspiracy Theory?
People are definitely being culled.

Q: Why did the number get mad at his wife?
A: Because she was being irrational.
-----------------------------------------
He's teaching her arithmetic,
He said it was his mission,
He kissed her once, he kissed her twice
and said, "Now that's addition."

As he added smack by smack
In silent satisfaction,
She sweetly gave the kisses back
and said, "Now that's subtraction."

Then he kissed her, she kissed him,
Without an explanation,
And both together smiled and said,
"That's multiplication."

Then Dad appeared upon the scene and
Made a quick decision.
He kicked that kid three blocks away
And said, "That's long division!"

Defenders of Angels

We sing children lullabys to help them sleep
One of my favorites is Brahms Lullaby, but there are many more by Chopin, Schubert,
Ravel, amongst others.
We also listen to Christmas Carols like Silent Night which could easily be a lullaby
Some Lullabys are full of folk lore and superstition
They warn of death, caution against being eaten by wild animals, and protection against evil
Mothers used to fear infant mortality in those days, and sicknesses because of lack of medicines
They also believed in witches and the evil eye so the songs included these beliefs to protect the child.
We can find warnings in such rhymes as Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill, Rock a Bye Baby ,and even in the Lords' Prayer

These songs never hurt me as a child.
In fact I think they made kids stronger because
subconsciously they knew to watch out for danger.

Nowadays people want the songs changed believing
doing so will prevent bad things from happening
We even have people who believe their kids should not be corrupted by TV.

Wishful thinking. No matter how well or protected,
you raise your children, once they go to school
you lose them to peer pressure and lobby groups.
Its best to raise them with what they will see in life,
or the reality of life as it pertains to them,
and be there to teach them
so they understand better.

My husband and I self censored ourselves by
saying, if it isn't good for our kids, it's not good for us.
So we stayed away from those places and things.

This was a good way to live because we enjoyed our kids
and did healthy things with our lives.

I Remember Daddy's Hands by Dolly Parton

I remember Daddy's hands,
folded silently in prayer and reaching out to touch me
when I had a nightmare.
Well, there was quite a story in those calluses and lines,
the years of work and worry had left their mark behind
and I remember Daddy's hands,
how they held my mama tight
and patted my back for something done right.
There are things that I've forgotten that I loved about the men,
but I'll always remember the love in Daddy's hands.
Daddy's hands were soft and kind
when I was cryin',
Daddy's hand were hard as steel when I'd done wrong.
Daddy's hands weren't always gentle, but i've come to understand,
there was always love in Daddy's hands.
And I remember Daddy's hands a workin' till they bled,
sacrificing unselfishly to keep us all fed.
If I could start over and live my life again,
I'd never take for granted
the love in Daddy's hands.
Daddy's hands were soft and kind when I was cryin,
Daddy's hands were as hard as steel when I done wrong,
Daddy's hands weren't always gentle,
but I've come to understand
there was always love
in Daddy's hands.

A pastor, known for his lengthy sermons, noticed a man get up and leave during the middle of his message. The man returned just before the conclusion of the service. Afterwards the pastor asked the man where he had gone.

"I went to get a haircut," was the reply.

"But," said the pastor, "why didn't you do that before the service?"

"Because," the gentleman said, "I didn't need one then."

One beautiful Sunday morning, a priest announced to his congregation: "My good people, I have here in my hands three sermons...a $100 sermon that lasts five minutes, a $50 sermon that lasts fifteen minutes, and a $10 sermon that lasts a full hour.

"Now, we'll take the collection and see which one I'll deliver.

Silver Rain Drop

These are two little wooden dolls from Korea and
Cards. The dolls have a satisfied look to them.:)
----------------------------------------------------------------
Silver raindrops beat at my window asking
To come in before they froze
I watched them turn into white teardrops
reflective of my soul
Memory is a priceless thing and
If I were to ask
I'd ask God if I could keep it because
It's worth so much

We walked through life together
Fearing not a soul
The days were never lonely because
We had each self to hold
The songs were always singing and
We heard them far and wide
And they are stored in memory
Along with all our love

Silver raindrops beat my window
Reflective of my soul
They turned into white tear drops
Crystallized and stored
All the hopes and dreams
Man could ever want
Are found in a memory
Of a little drop.

There was this Spanish guy, this Korean guy and this Russian guy all working for the same construction company. At the beginning of the day the boss comes out and says to the Spanish guy, "You're in charge of the cement."

Then he said to the Russian guy, "You're in charge of the dirt."

Then he said to the Korean guy, "You're in charge of the supplies."

Then he said, "I'm gonna be back at the end of the day to check on your work. It better be good or you're fired."

So they all go off to go get their work done.

At the end of the day, the boss comes back to check on their work. He looks at the big pile of cement and goes, "Good work," to the Spanish guy. Then he looks at the big pile of dirt and says, "Good work," to the Russian guy. Then he couldn't find the Korean guy so he asks, "Where the heck is the Korean guy??"

All of a sudden, the Korean guy jumps out from behind the big pile of dirt and yells, " SUPPLIES!"

A doctor answers his phone and hears the familiar voice of a colleague on the other end of the line.

"We need a fourth for poker," said the friend. "I'll be right over," whispered the doctor. As he was putting on his coat, his wife asked, "Is it serious?" "Oh yes, quite serious," said the doctor gravely. "In fact, there are three doctors there already!"

While visiting a country school, the chairman of the Board Of Education became provoked at the noise the unruly students were making in the next room.

Angrily, he opened the door and grabbed one of the taller boys who seemed to be doing most of the talking. He dragged the boy to the next room and stood him in the corner.

A few minutes later, a small boy stuck his head in the room and pleaded, "Please, sir, may we have our teacher back?"

This is a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was asked to do it. Everybody was sure Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.

Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Many people were running in BC to pharmacies to get iodine but they were told that we would not be affected as most of the radiation would dissipate in the ocean before it gets here. People may ingest cesium-137 with food and water, or may inhale it as dust. It is distributed fairly uniformly throughout the body’s soft tissues. Exposure may also be external (that is, exposure to its gamma radiation from outside the body).

The effects of radiation would be vomitting, skin burns, and various cancers of the liver etc...

This is an old post card I found and it gave me a chuckle.

Can you imagine a group like this coming to serve you in a grocery store or maybe our government ?
It also reminded me of the movie with Burt Reynolds in 1972' s Deliverance.

They were a group of 4 who went on a canoe trip down some rapids and were being stocked by some hill billies. The hill billies already had ill children born either because of in breeding or because of the polluted food they ate or moon shine or from illnesses they had no doctors for.

But one boy captured our groups' fascination because he was able to play the banjo so well and didn't look at all smart or sociable.

The Hillbillies were not all nice as it turned out and when a few of them died, all heck broke loose and our 4 heroes had to run for their lives.
It was an exciting movie. One of many this actor played in.
---------------------------------------------------------------

A reporter asked this hillbilly what he thought about the presidents civil rights bill. He answered: "If he owes it, I reckon he should pay it."

-------------------------------------------------------------------

A hillbilly came running into the store and said to his buddy, "Al, somebody just stole your pickup truck." Al said, "Did you see who it was?" The hillbilly replied, "I couldn't tell, but I got the license number!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------

A hitchhiker in the hills of Tennessee was picked up by a hillbilly who pulled a gun on him and ordered him to take a bottle of corn moonshine from the glove compartment of the car.

"Drink it," the hillbilly ordered, waving the gun. The hitchhiker took a swallow from the bottle, gasped, gulped, sobbed, blinked, wept, gagged, choked, shuddered, squirmed, and twitched.

"All right," the hillbilly said. "Now you take the gun and force me to take a drink."

The family was disturbed. Grandpa Ezra, aged seventy-five, decided to get married. What worried the relatives was the fact that the bride Ezra selected was a young, healthy twenty-two year old. One of Ezra's sons cornered him and pleaded: "Look, Dad, you must give this more thought. It's very serious. In fact, a thing like this could prove fatal!"

"So what?" answered Ezra, unperturbed. "If she dies, I'll marry again."

A young ventriloquist is touring through the southern United States and stops to entertain at a small bar in Texas. He's going through his usual stupid Redneck jokes, when a big burly guy in the audience stands up and says, "I've heard just about enough of your smart ass hillbilly jokes. We ain't all stupid here in the South."

Flustered, the ventriloquist begins to apologize, when the big guy pipes up, "You stay out of this mister, I'm talking to the smart ass little fella on your knee."

The wind is blowing radiation east from Japan.

The whole thing is just beyond belief and here we are with our own nuclear power plants and our own people are being told the same lies Japan told her people.

When you have energy this powerful that can kill millions, you do not play with it unless you are insane.

People are insane. They have to be all shut down or may as well design a magnifying glass over a city and wait for the sun to come out. Same effect Same result. Our call.

But what a Hoot N Nanny way to go lol

The Path of My Heart

The golden leaves cover the country side
I follow them in the rain
Behind the old maples and birch
I still see you walking on the leafy path
Your eyes as clear as the deep blue sky
And my heart is brightly lit
because your love keeps me alive.
I see you smile in the quiet of the field.
I smell the aroma of fall as it encases
All the secrets and treasures of my heart
The words spring forth as from a brook
No one can contain
And love stays
Resurrected
Like Christ on the cross
Bleeding and forgiving
Keeping doors open so
Frost melts as it steps through.

I love you
In this favorite of all woods
Our love is pure and treasured
And true as the golden leaves
Of the country side.
A LAdy's Life.

The World enjoys and will continue to enjoy the artists who showed us a different view of things seen through their eyes. The following is a true story. There was this little kid who had a bad habit of sucking his thumb. His mother finally told him that if he didn't stop sucking his thumb, he'd get fat. Two weeks later, his mother had her friends over for a game of bridge. The boy points to an obviously pregnant woman and says, "Ah, ha! I know what you've been doing
========================

|A man observed a woman in the grocery store with a three year old girl in her basket. As they passed the cookie section, the child asked for cookies and her mother told her "no." The little girl immediately began to whine and fuss, and the mother said quietly, "Now Ellen, we just have half of the aisles left to go through; don't be upset. It won't be long." He passed the Mother again in the candy aisle. Of course, the little girl began to shout for candy. When she was told she couldn't have any, she began to cry. The mother said, "There, there, Ellen, don't cry. Only two more aisles to go, and then we'll be checking out." The man again happened to be behind the pair at the check-out, where the little girl immediately began to clamor for gum and burst into a terrible tantrum upon discovering there would be no gum purchased today. The mother patiently said, "Ellen, we'll be through this check out stand in five minutes, and then you can go home and have a nice nap." The man followed them out to the parking lot and stopped the woman to compliment her. "I couldn't help noticing how patient you were with little Ellen..." The mother broke in, "My little girl's name is Tammy... I'm Ellen."

Are slugs edible? Wanna Know?

Yes. Apparently so. The early settlers ate them well cooked.
The slime numbs the tongue and may result in a rare form of meningitis — or infection of the spinal fluid — called eosinophilic meningitis or angiostrongyliasis caused by the rat lung-worm parasite, or Angiostrongylus cantonensis. It is spread when snails and slugs eat parasite-infested rat dung and move onto vegetables, where they are eaten by humans."

Why would you take the risk? Some ants eat them but I have never seen anything else try to, even chickens.

The Annoying Orange is at it again.

We women sure have reputations

This is an interesting lizard I never saw before and it's great for the garden cause it eats slugs.

A lady goes to the bar on a cruise ship and orders a Scotch with two drops of water. As the bartender gives her the drink she says, "I'm on this cruise to celebrate my 80th birthday and it's today."

The bartender says, "Well, since it's your birthday, I'll buy you a drink. In fact, this one is on me."
As the woman finishes her drink, the woman to her right says, "I would like to buy you a drink, too."

The old woman says, "Thank you. Bartender, I want a Scotch with two drops of water."

"Coming up," says the bartender.

As she finishes that drink, the man to her left says, "I would like to buy you one, too."

The old woman says, "Thank you. Bartender, I want another Scotch with two drops of water."

"Coming right up," the bartender says. As he gives her the drink, he says, "Ma'am, I'm dying of curiosity. Why the Scotch with only two drops of water?"

The old woman replies, "Sonny, when you're my age, you've learned how to hold your liquor. Holding your water, however, is a whole other issue."

=====================================================
The Gospel of St Thomas is rejected by the Church.
The gospel was found in 1945 in Nag Hammadi , Egypt
and they are not sure who wrote it.

The complete text has been dated to about 340 AD, while some of the Greek fragments have been dated as far back as 140 AD.

http://www.allaboutjesuschrist.org/gospel-of-st-thomas.htm

The Gospel of St. Thomas declares that the Kingdom of God exists upon the earth today if people just open their eyes. There is "divine light" within all of us, which allows us to see the Kingdom of God in our physical surroundings. The Image of God at the beginning of creation (Genesis 1) still exists today. We can assume that Image still, which is different than the image of fallen man (Adam) in Genesis 2. The Gospel of St. Thomas reveals that mankind can and should restore their identities to the image of God now, and see the Kingdom of God on earth now. This text treats the first two chapters of Genesis in a non-traditional way. It holds that there were two separate creations of mankind -- the first was perfect and the second was flawed. Rather than wait for a future end-time Kingdom to come, the writer of this book exhorts people to return to the perfect Kingdom conditions of Genesis 1 now.

If this gospel is true then it blows away all justification of buildings, wood, and men of God.

It cuts through everything and makes religion just between individual man and God.

and this is as it should be.

Interesting isn't it? :)

Democracy in the Middle East?? MMMMM No.

The other day I was watching an interesting documentary on the Barbary Pirates.
The reporter explained very simply that Spain was occupied by Muslims
who lived there 800 years. Then The Christians got upset with them and said go back
to your own lands and threw them out.
The Muslims then got mad and became pirates capturing many ships and
enslaving the captives and still do to this day.
They also mentioned that this took place in 1492 when Columbus sailed to find the North West Passage to the Indies probably because piracy affected commercial business.
During that time Spain was multicultural. So its not like we were the first to develop such nations in North America and it didn't work.
Not only were the Muslims told to leave but so were the Jews.

It resulted in having the Muslims and Jews go into the pirate business .The Barbary Pirates are famous to this day. Some piracy is still going on off the African Coast.

The Muslims were basically found in Andelusia, in Southern Spain, and they did very well there as the period was called the golden age of learning
The Christians and Jews had conditions under which they lived
They
1)acknowledged Islamic superiority and power
2) payed taxes to the rulers sometimes higher than most folk
3)could not blaspheme or convert Muslims into their religion
4)wore badges and had clothing restrictions
5)could not build many synagogues and churches
6)couldn't carry weapons
7)could not get an inheritance from a muslim
8) couldn't marry a muslim woman but muslim men could marry from other religions
9) Could not own muslim slaves
10) got lower compensations in face of injuries.,were restrictions on practicing one's faith too obviously.

Christian and Jews assimilated into the Muslim culture, learning Arabic and wearing their garbs inclusive of veils but they were still looked down upon as the bottom of society
http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/islam/history/spain_1.shtml)

Sorta like the same how they treat people today in modern Islam

But not all Muslim leaders were nice. Some became very intolerant and as a result trouble began.

The Muslims finally lost all power in Spain in 1492. By 1502 the Christian rulers issued an order requiring all Muslims to convert to Christianity, and when this didn't work, they imposed brutal restrictions on the remaining Spanish Muslims.

And so Piracy began and it was difficult for anyone to get to India via the Meditteranean.

The first half of the 17th century may be described as the flowering time of the Barbary pirates. More than 20,000 captives were said to be imprisoned in Algiers alone. The rich were allowed to redeem themselves, but the poor were condemned to slavery.

The chief sufferers were the inhabitants of the coasts of Sicily, Naples and Spain. But all traders belonging to nations which did not pay blackmail in order to secure immunity were liable to be taken at sea. The payment of blackmail, disguised as presents or ransoms, did not always secure safety with these faithless barbarians. The most powerful states in Europe condescended to make payments to them and to tolerate their insults.

Religious orders — the Redemptionists and Lazarites — were engaged in working for the redemption of captives and large legacies were left for that purpose in many countries. The continued existence of this African piracy was indeed a disgrace to Europe, for it was due to the jealousies of the powers themselves.

France encouraged them during her rivalry with Spain; and when, she had no further need of them they were supported against her by Great Britain and Holland. In the 18th century British public men were not ashamed to say that Barbary piracy was a useful check on the competition of the weaker Mediterranean nations in the carrying trade.

Kirkus Review: Jewish Pirates of the Caribbean

There is little-known history of some unintended consequences of the Spanish Inquisition.

At the dawn of the Age of Discovery, writes Jamaica-based historian Kritzler in his debut, Jews had been compelled by the Inquisition to convert to Christianity or suffer the auto-da-fé, but many of these conversos secretly maintained their ancient faith. By the 17th century, some headstrong descendants of the Jews banished by Spain in 1492 emerged as navigators, corsairs and pirates. These adventuresome Hebrews were an interesting lot. They were politicians, international adventurers and licensed privateers in geopolitical competition as much as mere robbers on the high seas. Covert Jews who never really converted, code-named "Portugals" by those with whom they dealt, sailed with Columbus and da Gama and plundered with Cortés and Pizarro.

Under Barbarossa, a Portugal named Sinan commanded a fleet of 100 ships. Rabbi Palache kept a kosher cuisine aboard his privateer. Seafaring Jews operated from Holland in its Golden Age and practiced international intrigue from Jamaica, where religion was of no consequence. They settled in Curaçao and New Amsterdam (to the consternation of Peter Stuyvesant. Portugal conquistadores looted Mexico, and converso traders connived with Cromwell and the King of Spain at the same time. Cutlasses at the ready together with the occasional holy text, they traded in the sugar of Brazil and the silver of Peru, with some intentions noble and other motives base. Kritzler ….believes that the fabled gold mine of Columbus is actually on the island of Jamaica, and he and a sponsor have already staked a preemptive mining claim.
Surprising adventures on the high seas with some rogues of the Diaspora.

======================================================================

CNN reported Congressman King trying to open dialogue with respect to Muslims in America and the need for them to work within America, to keep peace, by reporting anyone who was being recruited by Al Qaida even if it meant going against the Imam.

Well, There is a huge difference between Islam is Peace and God is love

There is a huge difference with our democracy and Constitution protecting minorities and theirs, which have a Koran which basically demands Islamic laws, inclusive of Sharia laws, be obeyed.

There is a huge difference in our Bible which teaches forgiveness and love as opposed to the Koran which calls everyone out side the faith, infidels who are there to serve.

It's on the first page of the Koran and they are not allowed to change a word of this book nor discussing changing their religion to some other or dropping it altogether. Islam is the law and way of life.

Once they Democratically elect their politicians and become people of power, elections, as we know them, will be over, as will the freedom we worked so hard to develop on this continent.

The North American continent was a safe haven where people ran to free themselves of such things and here it is creeping into new lands.

To open doors to have this all happen again, like it did in Spain and like it is doing today in Europe and England, is not something Canada and America can afford to dismiss as trivial.

The Koran is not a North American problem,.

It is an Islamic problem.

Islam maybe Peace but Islam is not Love.

That's only found in Christianity.

The only options we have, is to support the freeing of Muslim people in the Middle East so they can govern themselves.

Watching from the side lines we can then determine if democracy can assert itself between their own people and if not, then how is democracy to work with them and other people?

I give Congressman King kudoos for trying but I wouldn't smoke any cigars yet. So far anything and everything having to do with Islam, has not been about peace but constant war , poverty piracy and terrorism.

For peace, Islam requires people of the same mind and man was not born that way.

Those who know what living with a soul, that is alive and vibrant, would die, if they had to live stifled as they do in Islamic countries.

Religion was meant to be between man and God and practiced privately at home, not to force man to obey one ideology where there is no other way but one way.

We know that life has many roads people may take to get to the same place.

Thanks

Well everything is happening in one shot.
Japan had an 8.9 magnitude earthquake in Tokyo and they are expecting tsunamis every where ranging from Taiwan all the way down to Hawaii and even Australia. They tell us how safe Nuclear power is and here Japan is worrying about her plant withstanding such forces from Mother Nature This basically
makes everyone realize that the nuclear way is not the way to go. The risks out weigh the advantages.

We are way overdue for our big one in British Columbia and our newest bridge is only ready for a 7.5 magnitude earthquake. The rest might topple into the water.
They did recently say it was supposed to be happening more from California all the way up to the state of Washington.

Never a dull moment.

I HAVE RIGHTS

This is a beautiful cheerful post card of a painting and the fox is a small cunning fellow
who works hard to survive, especially when hunted by dogs and horse riders
chasing.
Does he stand a chance?
What do animals do when they are cornered, when they are starved and abused and hunted for what they are?
Do they have rights?

Do we?

The following is poem from Vietnam days.
------------------------------------------------------------
I HAVE RIGHTS

I have a right to pick my nose
To chew my toes
And scratch my bum
I have a right to pick my teeth
And breast feed my baby on the street

I have a right to sit and cross eyed grin
To wear my socks up to my chin
I have a right to pirrouette
And drink my gin

I HAVE RIGHTS!

I have a right to pick my veins, make holes,
Tattoo across my face
I HATE YOU!
Create my dreams and go insane

I have a right to cry and sing and scream
And tell everyone to scram
Before I kick them in the teeth
Because I know.... I have rights to speak.

And you have the right to walk away
To make my day.
You have a right to close your door
And to have a frightful day.
You have a right to step aside or
Over
When I lie on city corners
And you have a right to click a tongue and say:
"My! My! We have to pray."

Well I HAVE RIGHTS!
I have rights to spit at you
I have a right to eat raw fish
And wild greens from the wilderness
I have a right to gnaw the bones and
flesh of rats
that come to prey upon my soul.

Yes I have rights
And when they come to take me away
I'll tell them so
I'll tell them every day
Until my dying breath is just a whisper

I have rights sweet heart

And I sure miss you.

You had a right to live and be humane
Until they put a bullet in your brain
Until they lied and stole you away
From wife and child carrying your name

They gave you causes
They gave you promises
Medals of honor and promotions and
Gods' right arm,
They said, to fend you ......
from harm.

They did all that
Except they forgot
That God
................ is love

So I have rights, just as they do
To be vindictive, to fight and spew the
Ugly words found in a world of hate
By men, who rather kill than to create

Yes
I have rights to pick my nose
And you have the right.......
to shut the door.

A Lady's Life.

COULD THIS BE IRISH ALZHEIMER'S?

Murphy showed up at Mass one Sunday and the priest almost fell
down when he saw him. He'd never been to church in his life. After
Mass, the priest caught up with him and said, "Murphy, I am so glad
ya decided to come to Mass. What made ya come?"

Murphy said, "I got to be honest with you Father, a while back, I
misplaced me hat and I really, really love that hat. I know that
McGlynn had a hat just like mine and I knew he came to church every
Sunday. I also knew that he had to take off his hat during Mass and
figured he would leave it in the back of church. So, I was going to
leave after Communion and steal McGlynn's hat."

The priest said, "Well, Murphy, I notice that ya didn't steal
McGlynn's hat. What changed your mind?"

Murphy replied, "Well, after I heard your sermon on the Ten
Commandments, I decided that I didn't need to steal McGlynn's hat after all."

With a tear in his eye the priest gave Murphy a big smile and said;
"After I talked about 'Thou Shalt Not Steal' ya decided you would
rather do without your hat than burn in Hell?"

Murphy slowly shook his head. "No, Father, after ya talked about
'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery' I remembered where I left me hat."

Scalawag

A blind person asked St. Anthony: "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?"
He replied: "Yes, losing your vision."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With head held high
He jumped over brush
Which scattered on the forest floor
The melting snow so warm and fresh
Kept his skin aglow

I wondered what he was up to now
Alone under a starry sky
A playful rogue, a scalawag
One looks at with a smile.

He trips , he falls as
His pants fall down
While he charges made up villains
His sword flies high and hits the soil
In between, soft snow, caresses.

But the rascal takes no time at all
To rise and scamper yonder
Enfant terrible! his Mom would call
When he sneaks off like a shyster.

And As I walked along the path
I heard his paling thunder
Voila Monsieur! En garde! Adieu!
Now I have all your treasure!

Ha! Ha!
You thought you could get away
Deceitful knave of Wiltshire
And as he turned he saw me stare
At his wily ways and grandeur

And he tipped his hat
While his pants he held
With a gallant smile and laughter.
I'm off to meet another imp
Another black guard jug head.

I will turn them into crow bait
Along with their precious nags
For I am a scoundrel, rogue and hack
The one and ONLY
Scalawag of Wiltshire.

A Lady's Life

One morning 3 South Alabama good old boys and 3 Yankees were in a ticket line at the Montgomery
train station heading to Auburn to watch the War Eagles play football.

The 3 Northerners each bought a ticket and watched as the 3 Southerners bought just one ticket among them.

"How are the 3 of you going to travel on one 1 ticket?" asked one of the Yankees.

"Watch and learn" answered one of the boys from the South.

When the 6 travelers boarded the train, the 3 Yankees sat down, but the 3 Southerners crammed into a bathroom
together and closed the door.

Shortly after the train departed, the conductor came around to collect tickets.

He knocked on the bathroom door and said, "ticket please." the door opened just a crack and a single arm emerged
with a ticket in hand. The Conductor took it and moved on.
The Yankees saw this happen and agreed it was quite a clever idea.. Indeed, so clever that they decided to do the
same thing on the return trip and save some money.

That evening after the game when they got to the Auburn train station, they bought a single ticket for the return trip
while to their astonishment the 3 Southerners didn't buy even 1 ticket

"How are you going to travel without a ticket?" asked one of the perplexed Yankees.

"Watch and learn", answered one of the Southern boys.

When they boarded the train the 3 Northerners crammed themselves into a bathroom and the 3 Southerners crammed
themselves into the other bathroom across from it.

Shortly after the train began to move, one of the Southerners left their bathroom and walked quietly over to the
Yankee's bathroom. He knocked on the door and said "ticket please".

There's just no way on earth to explain how the Yankees won the war

One of the bloggers made a blog having to do with a good deed bracelet.
I thought it was a wonderful idea for teachers and parents especially to teach values and good behavior.

Every time your child does a good deed, he/she gets a bead.
If the bracelet is full then this is something they can be proud to wear and if they have more bracelets
even better. Then you can also hand out awards for the number of bracelets a child gets.
I guess Walmart would have kits with beads to do this project with students
I would have directed you to the blog itself but I lost it.

A hooded robber burst into a Texas bank and forced the tellers to load a
sack full of cash.

On his way out the door, a brave Texas customer grabbed the hood and pulled
it off, revealing the robbers face. The robber shot the customer without a
moment's hesitation.

He then looked around the bank and noticed one of the tellers looking
straight at him. The robber instantly shot him also. Everyone in the bank,
by now very scared, looked intently down at the floor in silence.

The robber yelled, " Well, did anyone else see my face?"

There are a few moments of utter silence in which everyone was plainly to
afraid to speak

Then, one old cowboy named Bill from Oklahoma tentatively raised his hand
and said,

"My wife got a pretty good look at you."

Spring Hunger

Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years
to write.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh Spring!
Oh dawn!
Oh Marrakech of life!
Alive and bemoaning no one
Of tasting the joys of feelings and strife
Of laughing away the hours of sorrow.

Oh see here, my adamant stranger and foe
You spring into action and hunger
And as you walk amongst friends in this land
Delirium sets in and upsets you

Oh Spring!
Oh Dawn!
Oh Marrakkech of life!
Dis robe to the sun and awaken
And look straight into the face of your son
So memory doesn't fail him

F R O G" we all need one

I was told a story about a lady in the hospital who was near death when an
area Chaplain came to visit her. This Chaplain was a very young female with
long blond hair. She listened to the lady who was ill and left her a small
gift for comfort It was a tiny ceramic frog. The next day one of the people
from the lady's church came to visit.. The lady told her friend about the
beautiful young Chaplain who had come to visit her. The friend was so
impressed with the way the lady had improved and felt the need to talk to
the young Chaplain. In her search to find the young gal, she was repeatedly
assured that the chaplains are never very young and that there was never a
gal that fit the description given.
Upon returning to the lady in the hospital, a visiting nurse entered the
room and noticed the ceramic frog. The nurse made the comment, "I see you
have a guardian angel with you,' as she held the little frog. We asked why
she made the comment and we were informed that the frog stood for:
(F) Forever (R) Rely (O) On (G) God

The Poet

I love this series of paintings by Larry

And as I met the poet,
I followed his thoughts and heart through his words and eyes.
We touched
Through timeless serene green meadows
Our minds took walks and met beneath the willows
by a crystal brook.
We sat on park benches and laughed discretely
Shaded behind the prickly rose bushes.

We discovered the nests of life
and cherished them through time for future generations.
And the poet lived on through my eyes
And I am here to convey to others
The words so meaningful and lovely
So as to make all hearts melt
Who have become witness to the love
And the cherished memories transgressing time
And rendering it (time) meaningless.

Human Planet Man and survival.

His request approved, the CNN News photographer quickly used a cell phone to call the local airport to charter a flight.

He was told a twin-engine plane would be waiting for him at the airport.
Arriving at the airfield, he spotted a plane warming up outside a hanger.
He jumped in with his bag, slammed the door shut, and shouted, 'Let's go'.
The pilot taxied out, swung the plane into the wind and took off.
Once in the air, the photographer instructed the pilot, 'Fly over the valley and make low passes so I can take pictures of the fires on the hillsides.'

'Why?' asked the pilot.

'Because I'm a photographer for CNN' , he responded, 'and I need to get some close up shots.'

The pilot was strangely silent for a moment, finally he stammered,

'So, what you're telling me, is . . .

You're NOT my flight instructor?'

Always ask lol

Trends of Life

I really love how Larry painted this picture with the snow coming down the mountain slope.
It looks like a typical misty snowy day up in the hills as the day comes to an end and it gets a lot cooler. The buffalo at rest are wary of bystanders.

It makes me wonder how, in the olden days they could shoot through the thick hide and through all that fur especially from a train. If you ever tried to push a buffalo out of the way, you would find it is easier to push a brick wall out of the way. They are powerful and handsome beasts.

Many legends have been written about them by the Indian people and I would have loved to live back then and travel along side them to see exactly how they lived and survived.

http://portals.powwowa.dk/portals/buffalo_legends.htm

I only know one buffalo that fell asleep after putting his head through my car window, listening to classical music. It lulled him to sleep and he was as happy as could be just to stand there.
He was the one I would have loved to take home. :)

---------------------------------------------------------------

Which trend should I follow?
Which way should I go?
The questions are brief with no answers.

My time verses youth
And my age verses time
And my life seems so brief an encounter.

A life saves a life
But a life must be born
through a love that burns hotter than coal
But time verses youth
And my age verses time
And my love burns
On glory survived.

Buffalo Lesson
A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo, much like the brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells.

The slowest buffalo are the sick and weak so they die off first, making it possible for the herd to move at a faster pace. Like the buffalo, the weak, slow brain cells are the ones that are killed off by excessive beer drinking and socializing, making the brain operate faster.

The moral of the story: Drink more beer, it will make you smarter.

------------------------------------

Three men were flying on a plane over the jungle when it crashed. They were the only people who survived. They decided that starting the next morning one of them would go out and make weapons and see if he could kill anything.

So the next morning the first man went out. He didn't come back till about noon. When they saw him they ran to him and helped him carry the deer back to the plane wreckage. They asked him how he killed it.

He said "I find tracks...I follow tracks...I kill deer."

So the next morning the second guy set out. He too came back at noon. When they saw him they ran to him and helped him carry the buffalo he had killed back to the plane wreckage. They asked him how he had killed it.

He said "I find tracks...I follow tracks...I kill buffalo."

The next morning the third guy went out. The other two were watching and watching for him. When it was almost sundown and he still hadn't returned they started getting worried. Then they saw a person stumbling towards them he looked awful, really bad cuts and a broken arm. They went and helped him to the fire they had made and asked him what had happened.

He said "I find tracks...I follow tracks...and...I got hit by a train."

..........And I Can't Win

Omen , the bear,
A symbol of strength and cunning
A predator , a feeder
Exulting in a spirit of a nation.

This post card was a painting of Larry Fanning Art.
--------------------------------------------------------

The heart is a powerful muscle and controls life as well as love
The mind is also powerful and controls life as well as love
Working together against you, it is hard to beat the Two
and so the poem .....And I Can't Win
written so long ago, when life was a drama. lol

-----------------------------

If ere by chance I glance
Upon your face.
I see a silent smile
Pursue your lips
And it seems distant.
I hold out my hand
To reach your grasp,
To have it pressed against your
Burning heart and kissed,
The way you always do, when you are sad,
With head bent low.
Your eyes, deep and dark and wild
Stare out into the darkness
Enfolding us.
They stare and yet see nothing
As if blind.
Your life revolves around your mind,
In capsulated by a thick barred cage
From which there is no escape.
You can't forget...............
And I can't win.

A Love Story

I shall seek and find you.

I shall take you to bed and control you.

I will make you ache, shake and sweat until you grunt and groan.

I will make you beg for mercy.

I will exhaust you to the point that you will be relieved when I leave you.

And you will be weak for days.

All my love,

The policeman had the bar under surveillance a few minutes before closing time, so he could see who comes out drunk.

The first one out the door at 2:00 o'clock weaved down the sidewalk, then fell on the curb. Sluggishly got up, then tried his keys in five cars before finding his own car.

Once inside his car, he fumbled with his keys for 2 or 3 minutes.

Meanwhile, all the club patrons had gotten into their cars and driven away, leaving this one fellow quite alone in the parking lot.

Finally, he got his car started and began to very slowly drive away.

Immediately, the police car was behind him with lights flashing.

The policeman asked the man to take a breathalyser test, to which he readily agreed.

When the reading was 0.0%, the policeman said, "How can this be?"

To which the man replied, "Because tonight, I'm the designated decoy."

Braids of Life

I braid my hair
You braid your bread.

I use strawberry lipstick
You make strawberry jam

I wear cotton
You weave it from the thread.

I watch TV
You are a world stage

I live a life
You are a life

I am me and
You are the Apple of my eye.

A Lady's Life

----------------------------------------------------
There are only two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle.
-- Albert Einstein

----------------------------------------------------
People are speculating now that we do have something to do with the UFO's which have been seen throughout time especially before or during disasters like tsunamis and volcano eruptions

One such UFO was seen during the Iceland eruption. Others were seens days before the eruptions in Alaska etc... Some ask are they here to help or to cause disasters killing over 200,000 people in one shot . They said it was an easy way of getting rid of the
unacceptable and the weak making more room for an advanced society, built genetically better than what they had before.

The Bible, they said, states man was created in Gods' image and so, as we do now with genetic
manipulation, maybe we were created as well before for no one knows how it is man came to be, to this very day.
They say it cannot be, that from cave dwelling, man suddenly jumped to building pyramids and that Leonardo da Vinci (and others like him), had such visions of submarines and arms we use to day, he drew on paper way back in his time when such things were inconceivable. Someone put those ideas into his head.

Maybe they got tired of man and wiped out most, with Noah, to leave 3000 throughout the world to begin again and maybe they are getting ready to do this again as the Mayan Calendar predicted
in Dec. 2012 to make room for a more perfect man. Some say man is already part alien and part human.

Throughout time, pictures of aliens and ships and battles have been drawn on cave walls suggesting that there might be a battle going on between good and bad angels.
and this is why God is supposed to come and once and for all end this battle so peace can reign.

I'd say we are in for some interesting times ahead but I am not so sure I want to see it.
I so I pray for the future generations.

My son said, you should not complain about kids and violence because it was your generation which did this. Your generation does dope, and promotes sex, and violence on TV. etc..

We promote freedom over above and beyond what is acceptable behavior and the kids are affected because we trample all over their world with our lobby and pressure groups ignoring the fact that they are entitled to a kids world. Its their human right.

Pretty soon it will be a human right freedom even to kill, because laws will not work anymore. As it is, they do not work. Laws are good only in so far as people want to and understand, that they are good for them and have good will to obey.

Today we punish our kids at home for things and then they see a person robs or vandalizes a store, then gets a lawyer to justify his reason to do so and gets off.

These are bad lessons for kids to learn. These are lessons teaching kids they do not have to obey because the law is not on their side. So many good families lose their kids to schools, pressure groups, friends, lobbyists and tv's... all different and immoral ideas and way of life etc...
people cannot defend their kids from.

No matter how much we try, there is someone who rocks the boat and destroys good things people worked hard to obtain, like freedom.

Every one seems to forget, that to have freedom is a privilege, an earned thing, not a guaranteed thing. To have freedom, requires a good, educated mind, devoid of brain cell destruction.
Freedom also has to work in tune with laws, every one agrees with because they understand that this is the right thing to do.

I was expressing my views as to why, his otherwise very nice school friend, my son grew up with, went and killed a nice girl he didn't know, for no reason.
What suddenly triggered this violence from him?

Now, although he pleaded guilty to First degree Murder, teachers will be asked to go to court to testify, I would assume on his behalf.
Out of all the rowdy boys from High School, he was the least expected to commit such a crime.
He never did anything bad and seemed to blend into the walls.

And of course I do not want to even touch upon how the other side feels except to say that all the grief you felt for the girls' family, balances out, when you see the behavior of the Father.

You automatically think the innocent daughter, paid with her life, through a random act of violence, for the sins of the Father. One always asks.. why this girl and not some other who did something bad? Those two kids were both innocents.

Did Laura's Dad learn anything? Well he said he hopes the other family now feels how he does losing a child, so no, I don't think so. The boys' family I know personally and so I know they are devastated. How would they not be? The Dad got the confession out of his son and he was the reason the police arrested the boy.

The girls' Father talks, as if the park his daughter was killed in, belongs to him and he will sit and wait for people with bats there. This is trouble waiting to happen because the park is a baseball park as well as football and soccer.
Of course no one believes he will do it.
It was just grief talking but it sure speaks a lot about our society.
Violence begets violence. Every one wishes the worst things to happen to this boy in jail.
And now that he's done this, can he ever be trusted to be free in this world?
His life is over.

So to keep hope and balance in the world, we only have a merciful God to depend on and his teachings of love and forgiveness to prevail.
With each day that passes, I find people need to pay attention so as to make it easier and nicer for our children to grow. Laws and government can't do this because these are personal issues.
We are adults and we are here to teach our children through example.
Regardless of human rights and freedom, I believe every adult knows what the right and wrong thing to do is and if he doesn't, he should be taught.

This is the kind of quality time I have with my children.lol This is why parents have to be there to explain things as they crop up.
It's always a push and pull and I'd like to think that so far, my husband and I are winning :)

The throw above was so easy to finish. I already had the middle green part done with my knitting machine, which took no time at all.
So I only worked on the edging and sewed on the light green chain all around for contrast.

I made it so it could be used as a shawl as well as a throw since the edging can be turned over for those cold mornings sitting by the computer lol
Its quite long as you can see so it covers all body sizes.
Being chilly all the time, I like to have these things hanging around to wrap up in and so do my guys when they watch TV or sitting in the car.
Now I had enough of knitting and will put everything away for a while.

How does the queen bee fix her hair? She uses a honey comb!
-------------------------------------------------

Three year old son Scott had thin fly-away hair, so his mother often wet it to comb it into place. One morning as she applied water and slicked his hair back , she announced it was time for him to get another haircut. "Mom." Scott replied, "If you'd quit watering it so much, it wouldn't grow so fast!"

A man was driving along the highway, and saw a rabbit hopping across the middle of the road. He swerved to avoid hitting the rabbit, but unfortunately the rabbit jumped in front of the car and was hit. The driver, being a sensitive man as well as an animal lover, pulled over to the side of the road, and got out to see what had become of the rabbit. Much to his dismay, the rabbit was dead. The driver felt so awful, he began to cry. A woman driving down the highway saw the man crying on the side of the road and pulled over. She stepped out of her car and asked the man what was wrong. "I feel terrible," he explained, "I accidentally hit this rabbit and killed it." The woman told the man not to worry. She knew what to do. She went to her car trunk, and pulled out a spray can. She walked over to the limp, dead rabbit, and sprayed the contents of the can onto the rabbit. Miraculously the rabbit came to life, jumped up, waved its paw at the two humans and hopped down the road. 50 yards away the rabbit stopped, turned around, waved and hopped down the road, another 50 yards, turned, waved and hopped another 50 yards. The man was astonished. He couldn't figure out what substance could be in the woman's spray can!! He ran over to the woman and asked, "What is in your spray can? What did you spray on that rabbit?"
The woman turned the can around so that the man could read the label. It said: "Hair spray. Restores life to dead hair and adds a permanent wave."

May you all ride the big wave, feel the breeze and breathe the salty air of life.
